The dreaded formula was M being a woman (mothering Bond) and the removal of the gunbarrel sequence at the beginning the film.

Please for the love of god, no, not Cavill. He's unbearably bland. With UNCLE bombing so hard, I think his chances might have lowered, and after Superman, he should be to famous for Bond. I think the next actor will be younger, and lesser known.

Would Cavill still have a chance if WB were distributing Bond? I think (hope) his chance came and went in 2005.

The WB angle is because he is their dc star and they might push him. So it'd be a extra bonus for them

In that case, i'd better pray that WB don't get their hands on Bond.

they might not care either way. It's funny how people think if Sony is no longer involved Craig has to leave. Craig staying or leaving has nothing to do with them after spectre . But if they get a new distributor and a25% of the cost partner it might makes sense to have a fresh start new bond and movie partners

I saw somewhere today on the web, that the bookies favourite to replace Craig as Bond (when he does eventually leave the role) .......... is Tom Hardy!........ummm.

Anyway...........back to SP.............if the film is a big hit.................do members here think the producers will try to retain Sam Mendes as director for Bond 25, which will likely be Craig's last Bond film???

I think it could go either way. From their perspective (Craig/Mendes), they made SF, and now may have topped it with SP. Might it be tempting fate to try again? With what looks like it could be a popular film, they might both cut their losses to go out on a high.

if it's a huge hit then I think they may want to. Even then their maybe problems with Craig .

But if it makes money I'm sure they will not want to change a thing.

I'm not sure mendes will be happy to return from the reviews seem like a half baked movie he can't be happy about that and that's with 3 years of preparation

Tom hardy would be awful I don't know why uk bookies like him

It could be 10 years before we see Daniel Craig's successor on the screen. If it is Cavill, he will be the same age as Brosnan was in GoldenEye.

Couldn't possibly agree more. IF that stuff about the distribution rights is true, then well... there is a chance this may happen.
I can't possibly warn people more about Spectre. It is PATHETICALLY BAD. And let me make it clear: I did NOT think the first half was good either. At all. The plot is extremely predictable and it is quite insulting to the viewers' intelligence. And the "action" is ridiculous, too.
Don't say I didn't warn you if you spend money to go see it. That second part is worse than that cheesy ridiculous "Bond in love" in CR. He has zero reason whatsoever to fall in love with Seydoux's character, other than the fact the writers decided that was the way to go. She is a flat, insignificant, cardboard cut character with zero depth. I'm really curious to hear what people say once they've seen it.
AND I PRETEND objectivity. Because, and I AM being objective (I said Skyfall wasn't nearly as bad as the other ones, while still missing James Bond because Craig is NOT it), this film is TERRIBLE. I really do mean terrible. It's ALMOST as bad as QoS. QoS is to me the worst Bond ever, so this one can't be as bad as QoS, but it's almost that bad.
