Just a slight change of topic.................but reading up on the film 'Spectre', i was quite surprised to see that the producers have yet again lost all control of the films finances.............and that the film will have a final budget of around $350 million..........making it one of the most expensive films ever, on a par with a James Cameron epic film, such as Avatar.
How on earth can a Bond film be so expensive to film?..........havnt they heard of controlled expenses?............the producers just havnt learnt from their mistakes with QOS, have they?
ps: saw Terminator Genesys recently................i thought it was a pretty good film!
That's pure 1960s Bond ................Ellie Goulding confirmed that she's recording new material on Thursday, but she's dropped a hint that it may be James Bond's Spectre theme tune that she's laying down. The musician explained that she was too excited to sing when she was captured in the recording booth this week before simply saying 'Live and let die' on Twitter. Ellie, 28, hit the Chiltern Firehouse later that night, keeping schtum on speculation that she will be putting the vocals to the upcoming 007 release. (who is she?) She has over half a billion views on this so Eon must think that will translate into ticket purchases.

About Ellie recording a theme song. Eh,not sure if she is a good choice. She is basically whispering when she is singing. but she is big now having half of billion views with "Burn" and half of billion views with "Love Me Like You Do".

And there's really nothing in the script that shouts out "boy, this is going to be expensive". There's more action in it than Skyfall, which moved at the pace of an arthritic snail, but it's still pretty low-key compared to the likes of DAD or Moonraker.

Elle Goulding? Have EON lost their minds... actually, don't answer that. And just so that I don't come off as poo poo-ing, my choice, under different circumstances (if I had an interest in the current films), is Caro Emerald.
Says it hovers around $350M. I am far from an expert on this, but Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol had a budget of $170M and Kingsman: The Secret Service had a even smaller budget of $81M. $350M looks a touch excessive.

I agree Caro Emerald would be a good choice.
$350M is TOO expensive. Seriously, what are they doing with that money? Probably A LOT is going to be spent for PR.
Good stuff, though I miss the UNCLE theme music. I notice they are no longer the United Nations Command for Law Enforcement. I assume this is because the real UN now objects to its name being used in fictional organisations - they did the same thing with UNIT in Doctor Who.
Ellie Goulding...meh. Bland and uninspiring, so possibly a good fit for SPECTRE.

So I was just reading something on fragrantica site and there was this discussion "what perfume James Bond would wear?" and there was this one comment(and I can not believe I have to write this):"Craig is smoother than Moore,so his perfume would have to be smoother as well." Erm...whoever is possible to comment on this with sth great should get an award.

Dunhill or Floris #89. These devotees of "Flemming's Bond" didn't know that?

I think it was said in the books that Bond does not wear any cologne? I know that Fleming preffered Floris #89 and Dunhill but as far as I recal none of the perfumes were mentioned in the books...

What the s**t? Ok.... saying he's a popular Bond, that's a fact. Saying he's a good Bond, that's a matter of opinion. Saying he's a smooth Bond, that's just plain wrong. I don't think even EON themselves would be deluded enough to refer to Craig's Bond as 'smooth'.

To EON he is Fleming's Bond. To Barbara he is "the most handsome man on Earth" but even she has enough brain to see he is isn't smooth.
I mean, this comment just might be the most ridiculous one I have read, and believe me,I read some ridiculous stuff written by Craig fans.
Craig's Bond is about as smooth as a bull in a china shop. Moore was a natural fit for Bond and played the part effortlessly, whereas Craig has to try way too hard.

Craig doesn't wanna play James Bond. At first he declined the role because he didn't wanna do "another Bond movie". I begin to think the reason reboot happened is because Barbaara wanted Craig so badly in a role(God knows why!). Only after he read the script for CR he accepted.
I once read this:"While Connery makes it look effortless,Moore looks like he is putting no efort at all." I that's true.
English Agent wrote:I always thought Roger Moore played Bond as a sort of extension to his TV character Simon Templar (The Saint).
I here that the trailer for 'Spectre' has been made and approved............just waiting for a release date, so we can get a better feel for the film.
I need to see where this $350 million went to!
$350 that is before ads and prints . George Lucas spend $38 million on distributing redtails., I'd imagine distributing bond has got to cost over $100 million plus worldwide .
They literally have to make 1 billon to break even.
Btw anyone else remember when they said Brosnan was too expensive ? First his salary then the cost of his movies , cr and Craig were supposed to be striping down the costs but they are spending more than it costs to make Jurassic world or an avengers movie
