Re: US Election 2012
This probably deserves its own thread. I don't see that it has much relevance to the 2012 election.

This power grab by Obama to force religious institutions to pay for something morally abhorrent to them really has m e upset. Obama said he back down but he really hasn't where the hell does he get the authority do force anything like this, or make recess appointment when they are not in recess, a useless recess appointment because the position he tried to fill has the legal requirement that the head must be confirmed by congress.
The democrats really do not get what they hell they did I saw too many come on TV and say the catholic church needs to calm down and get behind this, what a load of crap.
The fight against Obama is going to be big it really will come down to people feeling our liberties are being threated b his vision of a huge government nanny state. Obama has done things he as a candidate said were wrong, and nobody will call him on it. Not a big fan of the republicans but obama power grabs and sneaky ways at passing laws are scary. The Obama Care is good example of a law people vocally Said they do not want and their representatives there cajoled adn threatened until they went along with their party, it was a case of the political parties were represented instead of the people who elect the senators and congressmen. A very dangerous place to be. Some are OK with it because they think their side is doing what is "right", whatever. the thing is no matter what if we let these powers stand every president will think he has the power to do whatever he wants with out checks and balances, the two party system will solidify itself and we the people will no longer have senators representing our needs and concerts but be voting on which political party stooge to vote in office.

Are U.S. Consumers All Done With Shopping?
U.S. consumer spending collapsed in December, signalling slower consumption early in 2012. The figure was the weakest reading on spending since June 2011, the Commerce Department released on Monday, following two weak gains in October and November. Spending (adjusted for inflation) dipped 0.1 percent last month after edging up 0.1 percent in November. The fear must now exist that the January and February figures will fall far short of expectation. (Do you see this on ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, or CNN? Gee, I wonder why?

Well, I don't regard Townhall.com as a reliable source, but if it is telling the truth, it's about time. Nukes are a relic of the cold war, and not much use against a couple of dozen Saudis with boxcutters.bjmdds wrote:Now this: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavli ... 80_percent

Maybe you will believe this news source instead Kris: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/1 ... 77000.html

Re: US Election 2012
HuffPo, no, but the Associated Press is rather more plausible. As I say, long overdue, but note that the story contains that weasel phrase "up to". I'm sure the military-industrial complex have got their best people on it now, to persuade Obama that nuclear weapons are essential for taking out a suicide bomber in Pakistan.bjmdds wrote:Maybe you will believe this news source instead Kris: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/1 ... 77000.html

And I suppose your idea of an unbiased source is Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the Washington Moonie Times?bjmdds wrote:AP slants liberally and is not unbiased.

Re: US Election 2012
No. They slant their way too but there are 20x more liberal media groups compared to Fox and a few others. AP has a definite agenda as does Maxine Waters.

http://www.hartfordbusiness.com/news22728.html This is the best article out there about the TRUTH of the unemployment mess, not the BS the liberals shovel, like Nora O'donnell, Bob Schieffer, George Stephanopuolos, etc. Facts.......just the facts.
