But Peter Parker is supposed to be a nerdy teen. And when they cast a "rugged and more mature USA actor" as Batman, you complained about that too. There's no pleasing some people ("That's just what Jesus said, sir!")bjmdds wrote:Get a rugged looking and more mature USA actor to play these roles.
I vote YES to Tom Mison. He is great and yes, everyone loves him on Sleepy Hollow.Atticus wrote:On the subject of Rupert Friend: if we're going down that road, then I think his buddy Tom Mison would be a better choice:
He's got a Dalton-like quality to his appearance. Right now, he's starring in the hit show Sleepy Hollow, and my wife and I find him engaging. There's a Bondian quality to the way he plays the part, shifting from seriousness, to humor, to action. He's also a hit with the ladies, so my daughters tell me, considering he's got a big following with female fans on social sites. But it's all meaninglessness to the psycho, Her Majesty Barbara Broccoli, because it's obvious her vision of Bond is just wacked out.

Agreed. As far as Craig's popularity, he is really only popular in the UK and in part of the US (the part that dislikes James Bond and wants Bourne when watching Bond).Veronica wrote:This is just another example how, excuse me for saying this,Craig fans are moronic.Fat??Connery,Moore and Brosnan all had slim builts.Craig on the other hand is bulky, with his made-in-gym muscles and I suppose Babs thinks every woman will drool over Craig because of it.Not gonna happen.Sorry, those gym-muscles don't do anything for me.I'm not a Twilight fan. Here's one good explanation from an article:" The important thing to remember about Pierce Brosnan is that he was not hot. He was attractive, charming, charismatic, and handsome. But he was not hot. To consider just how radically different modern-day action heroes are, consider this: In Die Another Day, James Bond watches in awe as Halle Berry emerges from the surf. In Casino Royale, a mere four years later, someone else got their own emerging-from-the-surf moment…except this time, it was James Bond himself. My colleague Dennis Huynh mentioned that Craig’s first movie kicked off the whole trend of objectifying male bodies, an inversion of the female-gaze theory that reaches its apex with this year’s Magic Mike."The Saint 007 wrote:Connery often gets referred to as being "fat" in Diamonds Are Forever, and I've also seen fans call Moore and Brosnan "fat" in their final Bond films, which I honestly don't get.dirtybenny wrote:Yeah, if seen Connery referee to as "fat ass" on several occasions in the "official" bond fan sites its quite bizarre to read! I'll never forget when someone on IMDb said that the opinions of Roger Moore fans don't matter. I guess the money Moore fans spent on the Bond series doesn't matter either, right?
I wouldn't say that scene started the whole trend of objectifying male bodies,I think that came with Twilight two years later but I think the writer is right about everything else.
And why wouldn't the opinions of Moore fans count or "be important"?Good grief, and I thought that Bieber fangirls are stupid.Whether they like it or not,Moore contributed a lot to the James Bond franchise(seven movies no less) and he caried our beloved Bond through the 70's and half of 80's.Craig on the other hand got the role solely because Babs has hots for him...and even though he said he finds playing Bond "boring" the money she throws at him certainly isn't boring.
And,you knowwhat...when we speak of general audience who likes Bond...Moore is more popular than Craig-at least in Croatia. So,no,I wouldn't call opinions of Moore fans irrelevant.Seriously, who said that?!
I vote yes too. He has the right look for Bond, and the right balance of seriousness and humour. I may have already said this, but it was a few pages ago, and I can't be bothered to check.Alessandra wrote:

People go see the movies because it's James Bond, not because of him. They go IN SPITE of him, not because of him. IN fact, any other role he has been in since being cast as Bond, produced a FLOP at the box office.
And the only couple of people I've heard here in Italy who like Craig, do so because they don't like Bond movies normally and "this is more realistic, more like Bourne". LMAO! Sorry chaps, exactly NOT the point of a Bond movie.
Bale was perfect as Batman. He should have remained in the role. I NEVER stated I wanted a change to Affleck. Again, you reside in an alternate universe where I am concerned. Tobey was more mature 'looking' than this new CHILD and his box office was awesome and greatly received. This PUNK will be laughed at as Spider-BOYKristatos wrote:But Peter Parker is supposed to be a nerdy teen. Ale, I am surprised at you. Take away Mison's scruffy stubble and he is nothing like Bond:Alessandra wrote:I vote YES to Tom Mison. I would take Cavill, who is clean shaven, over this Mison any day as Bond. It's not even close IMO. Mison minus his beard is NO Bond whatsoever. If Bond had a beard, he's be passable at best.
But in the case of Connery in DAF, he had noticeably put on weight. And his wig kept changing colour throughout the film. I find it impossible to believe that Connery was 41, especially when you consider what Moore, Dalton and Brosnan all looked like at the same age.The Saint 007 wrote:Connery often gets referred to as being "fat" in Diamonds Are Forever, and I've also seen fans call Moore and Brosnan "fat" in their final Bond films, which I honestly don't get.dirtybenny wrote:Yeah, if seen Connery referee to as "fat ass" on several occasions in the "official" bond fan sites its quite bizarre to read! I'm not sure he wanted to remain in the role, though I have read conflicting reports on that. I'm pretty sure that you have slagged off "Batffleck" in the past, but again, life is too short to go back and check. I have been the victim (on other forums, not this one) of people throwing years-old quotes of mine back in my face in order to score points, and people that obsessive scare me.bjmdds wrote: Bale was perfect as Batman. Veronica wrote:And yeah Ale I am of opinion that they go inspite of him because there is James Bond in the title. He is not a leading man material let's face it. It's actually hilarious how Babs goes on how he is "a unique mix of acting skills.and movie star charisma"...that's an ACTUAL quote. That's a level of Denise Richards' statement that she liked the role because it was "brainy, athletic and had an actually depth that was missing in prior Bond girls."
