Re: US Election 2012
It's a matter of VP choice now, with Huntsman his Secretary Of State most likely.

Re: US Election 2012
Six more Americans were killed in Afghanistan.............John King embarrasses himself at the SC debate asking stupid questions irrelevant to the Presidency http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc4lnlDVW3o .......and Oh-bama is singing songs at a fund raiser at the Apollo theatre http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-hDt2E8MoE and this is how the media contrasts the two parties? The media has been disgraced by itself and exposed as the crumbs they are. Newsweek calls those who question Oh-bama DUMB
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3i9qhGMbYk Disgraceful.

Yes, how DARE he ask the man who impeached Clinton over a blowjob about his extra-marital affairs!bjmdds wrote:Six more Americans were killed in Afghanistan.............John King embarrasses himself at the SC debate asking stupid questions irrelevant to the Presidency http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc4lnlDVW3o

Re: US Election 2012
Clinton was impeached by the House for "lying under oath" to prosecutors, not his sexual acts. The ejaculator in chief got caught "lying under oath". How about interviewing some of Oh-bama's college buddies to get his actual background activities?

Re: US Election 2012
Romney needs to win Florida or he will have to wait until March to get back on track. Oh-bama speech was not watchable. Utter rubbish.
Mitch Daniels was on the money with his points in rebuttal.

Re: US Election 2012
Serious question: who actually watches SOTU addresses? Our equivalent here is the Queen's speech, which is on for 10 minutes on Christmas Day and only watched by people who are waiting for the next big movie premiere and are too bloated on turkey to get up and turn the TV off. I coudn't imagine anyone watching it for a whole hour in primetime, yet Americans are expected to do just that.

Biden was falling asleep behind the little O. It lasted toooooooo long and was deemed boring. The ratings will be up later on how many watched it, but it was on all of the channels with zero competition.

In all honestly we do not. Last one I watched was after 9/11, it all a bunch of lies and BS. ANd Obama is going to use it to launch his reelection campaign, he has been on the reelection trail instead of the governing since last summer.Kristatos wrote:Serious question: who actually watches SOTU addresses? I suppose some people care, most I think do not. although if it had to be 10 minutes long it would probably / maybe be better.
I'd like Obama of 2006-2008 to rebut Obama of 2012. The man has changed so drastically I don't think he'd recognize himself.

Re: US Election 2012
He hasn't changed Dr. No. You are seeing the real person governing. Guantanamo Bay is still open, and it should be, but he said he would close it, and once he was President he learned his lesson with the Generals in the armed forces. Eric Holder is a joke. Oh-bama is suing states over immigration. States are suing him over health care mandates. He gives unions and Pelosi's district health care waivers. He tells Hispanics the Republicans are their enemies. He plays class warfare games while engaging in worse crony capitalism with solar companies than Cheney did with Haliburton. Oh-bama had better lose or this country will go down the tubes with his health care medicaid expansion set to kick in full 2014. Then watch the jobs drop
The pipeline he is vetoing is because Buffet wants it put on his railroad cars. He is milking the system like they all do. "Interestingly, another billionaire, Obama economic inspiration Warren Buffett, stands to benefit from the Keystone XL pipeline delay. As oil production ramps up in the Bakken fields of North Dakota, plans to use the pipeline to transport it have been dashed. As a result, North Dakota’s booming oil producers will have to rely even more on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad, which Buffett just bought, to ship it to refineries. Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway has agreed to buy Burlington Northern Santa Fe in a deal valuing the railroad at $34 billion. Berkshire Hathaway already owns about 22% of Burlington Northern, and will pay $100 a share in cash and stock for the rest of the company."

Re: US Election 2012
The White House is also counting on the ... big-screen version of the killing of bin Laden to counter Obama's growing reputation as ineffectual. The Sony film by the Oscar-winning pair who made "The Hurt Locker" will no doubt reflect the president's cool, gutsy decision against shaky odds. Just as Obamaland was hoping, the movie is scheduled to open on Oct. 12, 2012 — perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost to a campaign that has grown tougher. The moviemakers are getting top-level access to the most classified mission in history from an administration that has tried to throw more people in jail for leaking classified information than the Bush administration.
It was clear that the White House had outsourced the job of manning up the president's image to Hollywood when Boal got welcomed to the upper echelons of the White House and the Pentagon and showed up recently — to the surprise of some military officers — at a CIA ceremony celebrating the hero SEALs.

Re: US Election 2012
Matt Damon rips President Obama in Elle magazine, blasting his leadership qualities and saying he’d prefer “a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done.” The actor, a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and onetime Obama advocate, reveals frustration with the administration in his wide-ranging interview. “I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level,” says Damon. “One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.’” Damon then gets even more direct with his own criticism. “You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of this country, much better,” argues the We Bought a Zoo star. He adds, “If the Democrats think that they didn’t have a mandate – people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they are so pissed off.”

How dumb is Obama? Warrnen Buffet has Obama ear. For some reason Obama listens to him like he is too important to ignore, for a reason I cant begin to understand Obama invites Buffet's secretary to the shindig last night to maker her the centrepiece of essentially his 99%er reelection platform. Sounds good right? Buffet pay less then his secretary good talking point except his secretary his probably a millionaire herself pulling down over $250k a year to be at a rate over the 15% Buffet should be paying if he is honest. But he is not honest he fought the IRS over 1 billion dollars of back taxes he hasn't paid.

I am not a big Romney fan,the he crap he is gettingover his taxes (from the GOP
) and he paid a fair share when he earned it and still pays what is demanded of him. He also gives 16% of his income to charity. I don't care if he giving to the Morman church giving is giving.
From what little I know of Romney he has walked the walk not just talk the talk. Right now he seems like a stable choice.

Re: US Election 2012
You don't hear this by the media: http://governmentinexile.typepad.com/go ... razil.html Vote MITT is November to save the country from this plague on America. Don't forget this as well: "Beijing. Workers are celebrating in the streets and thanking America’s Jobs Czar for moving so many high-paying, high tech jobs to their communities today. The only problem is, they are Chinese workers throughout China. Jeff Immelt is not only President Obama’s Jobs Czar, he is also the CEO of General Electric. In addition to being the parent company of all the NBC family of broadcasting networks, GE is also one of the largest military contractors in the US."

Re: US Election 2012
I think Romney would be on dodgy ground attacking Obama for destroying American jobs and sending them overseas, considering that's how he made his fortune. Meanwhile, for anyone who still thinks there's any meaningful difference between the two (probable) candidates:bjmdds wrote:You don't hear this by the media: http://governmentinexile.typepad.com/go ... razil.html Vote MITT is November to save the country from this plague on America. Re: US Election 2012
So it was striking last night that President Obama made no mention whatsoever of Senator Mark Kirk, who suffered a stroke over the weekend and is recovering in a Chicago hospital. The omission is all the more striking because Kirk is from the president’s home state of Illinois and occupies his old Senate seat. It would have taken one line, elicited raucous applause, lifted Kirk’s spirits, and added a bipartisan note to an otherwise partisan address. But it either did not occur to the president or he could not be bothered. This does not mean Kirk was forgotten last night. Senator Joe Manchin, who was planning to sit together with Kirk in a show of bipartisanship, paid tribute to his colleague by keeping the seat he would have occupied empty. It is unfortunate the president couldn’t offer a single sentence to honor him as well.
