Told you this is nothing like the 98 version which I see it as a guilty pleasure.

FBF, monster films of the 1960s were huge........this new film resembles them and will be so much better with the CGI now, and this film should open up a new franchise genre rebooted from 50 years ago, just as the superhero films have done from comic books. It should top $100 million opening weekend and send the Spiderboy packing. The Broderick film was a disgrace. THIS is a well done film :!:   "Synopsis: The world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who threaten our very existence." http://images.fandango.com/r92.6/ImageR ... _v1_lg.jpg

They will be back. Are they still building the posh new ground?

Do you support City too - are you like Michael Palin who supports both teams of his home city - Sheffield?
Yeah, they're still getting the new stadium. To my mind, the money would have been better spent on some decent players.

As for The s**t, most people in Bristol support either one team or the other. My MP is the exception, but she's a politician, so she has to say that.

I think Michael Palin is rare in supporting both local rival teams. He says he supported Sheffield United when young, but supported both later as because of his Sheffield roots:

It's rare in this country, though it seems to be the norm on the continent. One of my cousins in Greece is a sports reporter for a newspaper (or was - I think the paper has gone the way of so many others), and he says that most Athenians support both the main Athens teams, Panathinaikos and AEK. Though he's from Pireaus, like my dad, so he supports Olympiakos.

Box Office Mojo: "There was also an expectation that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be propped up by its Summer kick-off release date. Unfortunately, Captain America: The Winter Soldier seems to have stolen some of its thunder there. Reviews didn't help either, as it wound up being the worst-reviewed Spider-Man movie yet.

According to Sony, the audience was 61 percent male and 51 percent under the age of 25. That's younger than the typical audience for a superhero movie, and family attendance (33 percent) likely had something to do with this.

The long-term prospects at the domestic box office aren't great. The movie received a so-so "B+" CinemaScore, which suggests word-of-mouth will be only a bit better than the reviews. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will likely fall off quickly in the coming weeks, and is essentially guaranteed to be the lowest-grossing entry yet in the franchise."

We couldn't agree over who the best Bond was, so we gave the casting vote to one of the staff. Brosnan won it. They also didn't like Craig, clearly I make friends with the right people; although, I did get some flack for liking Lazenby.
at one of my sites (which I should name because we fly the Jolly Roger ) we have a poll ranking the bonds keep in mind these are more movie fans than bond fans . Last I looked Connery was at 47% Craig second with 19% Brosnan with 13% Moore with 9%, Dalton and Lazenby barely rank in fact are below the don't care vote, but ahead of the other two from CR 1950s and 1967.

This was one person one vote and over 6000 votes. I'm impressed Brosnan is ranked so highly I think his legacy with average fans is about to rebound.

This won't flop big O. This film is the real deal of monster films and the acting looks dy-no-mite :!:......Boxofficemojo ranking of summer films: 5) Godzilla (May 16): The bad taste from 1998's Godzilla movie has been washed away by strong trailers that show off the human impact of large-scale destruction while only providing brief glimpses of the monster. This calls to mind the marketing strategy for last year's World War Z, which kept its zombies obscured for the most part. While Godzilla doesn't have Brad Pitt, the giant lizard should make up for that. Adjusting for inflation, the 1998 movie earned around $230 million, which is a fair target for this movie. Also, look for huge international returns. (Domestic: $230 million, Foreign: $440 million)

Frank Miller's Ronin is being adapted as a TV mini-series: http://news.yahoo.com/syfy-channel-adap ... 17143.html

It's reported as part of a larger news story, but knowing what a huge Miller fan the Drakester is, I thought he'd want to hear this (if he hasn't already).

TNT's Dallas marked ratings success, as well, ranking as one of basic cable's 10 most-watched original dramas in April.

Although Bauer and Bond share a relentless pursuit of a higher good and duty to their countries, the two do share their differences. “Bond felt no real guilt in killing the enemy as it was merely a part of his job,” says Tom DeMichael, author of James Bond FAQ: All That’s Left to Know About Everyone’s Favorite Superspy (Applause Books). “Like any soldier, he was proud to serve his country and did whatever was needed to achieve success in his mission.”

Bauer certainly shares this “for the greater good” attitude, but it doesn’t come without guilt. See his breakdown in the final scene of season three, if you don’t believe me. He’s been emotionally injured by the murder of his wife and physically scarred along the way. Although rage makes him less perfect than the sophisticated and cool-headed Bond, Bauer is more relatable, and perhaps viewers care to see more of him in decades to come. (The question is whether Bauer is easily transferred to other actors the way Bond is.)

Whether or not you think Live Another Day is the new Die Another Day, one thing is for certain: We’ve got Jack Bauer for at least another twelve episodes, starting Monday on FOX.

Will big O see the big "G" in 10 days? I will see it Memorial Day weekend most likely.........Said Brosnan, the former 007: “Getting back into the spy game and bringing November Man to life with Roger Donaldson and a world class team was a tremendous experience. I look forward to sharing it with the world.”

Two years from today, the biggest showdown in box office history is set to take place. At least, that's what the tentative release schedule would have you believe.

In what amounts to a very high stakes game of chicken, Disney and Warner Bros. have scheduled superhero movies Captain America 3 and an Untitled Superman/Batman Film on May 6, 2016. Over the past few months, various representatives on the corporate and creative side have indicated that both sides intend to stick with this date. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3838

Captain America 3 I think had the days first and WB moved superman 2 to conflict. This is how Hollywood used to go head to head I'm kind of hoping this comes back.

Btw I think the days conflict all over the world not just the us.
