Ok, so you are now recognising this as a Bond film? Why are you going to see it if you think it will be awful?
Probably the same reason that you, Benny and all the other self-confessed "Pierce Brosnan as Bond" haters on Commander Bond etc went to see Die Another Day. It's not a "Cubby" Bond film, but is one of the few films with "James Bond" in it, so I think even James Bond fans who are alarmed at British veteran character actor Daniel Craig playing Bond again will have a look. Just as you, Stocksilvian etc, self-proclaimed haters of gadgets, over the top action scenes, Q, Moneypenny and 3/4 of the Bond series went to see Die Another Day!
But the big difference is, I went in to see DAD with an open mind. I went in to see all Brosnan films with an open mind. Hell, I even hoped and prayed DAD would be a great Bond film.

How many on here can safely say that about CR or QOS?

Kind of like Moneypenny post-Lois Maxwell right? Except the Goldfinger references in CR actually had a purpose: to acknowledge the film series' roots to fans.
Moneypenny and Q would acknowledge the franchise's roots, would it not?
In a way, but you can't say that flirting with Moneypenny had a bigger impact to the series than Bond's big adventures like going against Oddjob, Honey Ryder's introduction, driving the DB5, ect.

EON may have acted like Money and Q were essential to the series as much as those scenes but they weren't. They became formula. Besides, nobody complained about Q not appearing in LALD.

Everyone knows how much you loathed Brosnan and that style of film. Even if DAD had been more to your liking, I'm sure I've read somewhere (maybe JSW) that you felt PB to be incapable of portraying a serious type Bond.

If I flew overseas to see the 'Questionable Offbeat Script' with both you and Skywalker, I could point out to you why I feel the way I do by watching it frame by frame, and MAYBE, even convince you.
Nice response bj, but it still didn't really answer my question properly.

Will you be seeing it at the cinema?
I see all the Bonds.
Ok, so you are now recognising this as a Bond film? Why are you going to see it if you think it will be awful?
I want to see if Eon proves me wrong, and see what this Craig 'hysteria' is based on. I saw NSNA and thought I would not like it, and I did not like it, not due to preconceived thoughts, but the film itself. When debating, you need common frames of reference Sweeney, correct? Although I find Craig "The Grinch Who Stole Bond", I saw CR, will see QOS, and cannot wait for his replacement to be named.

Have you ranked your favourite Bond films in order? and what do you like about the Pre-Craig era Bonds that you don't like now?
Bonds 1-5 are my favorites, hands down. OHMSS was not bad and Lazenby may have been shortlived too soon. The Dalton 'twins' did nothing for me and I was glad he left the role. DAF and LALD were OK, but not up to par for me. I like the remaining Moore films EXCEPT FAVTAK. Brosnan's films were very enjoyable to me except for the final 2/3 of DAD. Pre-Craig films had class, style, and escapism, for the most part, none of this exploration of Bond's inner psyche. They were a fun ride. Now, it's a Sigmund Freudian analysis of what makes Bond into that we have known him to already be. I want action, different locals, Q, Moneypenny, no Craig, unusual cars, gadgets, and a Bond who is not earning his stripes as a 00, with a male M who is in the proper time frame of reference.
LALD not up to par? IMO it's Moore's finest performance.

His finest performance Skywalker was LALD? You did not like FYEO, TSWLM instead?

The Sweeney stated after seeing CR that he did not know how he could have liked the previous 20 films, after watching Craig's performance, and the direction, in a direct response to my question to him, correct Sweeney?

I hated each Brosnan film more and more as they were released, but I always held out hope that the next one would be better than the last. Unfortunately, Brozza's all became increasingly worse, with DAD reaching an all-time low.

I can't remember saying I didn't like seeing the previous 20 films after CR. I'll always love FRWL, GF, OHMSS and LTK. I may have meant Brozza's and Roger's films.

Just for the record, i liked Brosnan as Bond........but as the 'Sweeney'
has stated, the problem was that the Bond films he starred in became poorer in quality with each susequent film. :(

People on these Bond sites have become obsessive with the fact that people think your either a Brosnan or Craig hater.............buts thats not the case in general..................its the quality of the films they were in that
tarnishes or glorifies their tenure as Bond. :(

I mean the way some people go on, you'd think that DC was the monster from 'Cloverfield' :

Incidently i also liked all the other actors as Bond! :D

Not a George A Romero fan Kristatos? I'm looking forward to Diary Of The Dead, although I doubt it'll reach my local cinema over here.

I'm not a big horror fan, full stop. I didn't realise Diary of the Dead was his latest zombie movie - I know the "...of the Dead" in the title should have given it away, but Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead actually sound like horror movie titles, whereas Diary of the Dead sounds more like the sort of movie that might win an Oscar for best foreign-language film.
