With a release date set for November 2015 (wisely avoiding the crazy summer schedule and Star Wars Month), this gives James Bond 24 over a year between its production start and distribution: a pretty healthy time frame to be working with. The Broccoli family dynasty simply apes the most popular blockbuster from the previous year, especially if it had British talent involved.

Every James Bond movie can be directly traced to the movie it is aping. For example Moonraker was the Bond response to Star Wars.

Skyfall was the Bond response to the Nolan batman films. Since Mendes is coming back to the chair, I predict he will try to out-do Nolan again.

But, given that it's on Friday, at 10, without any other competition, it *is* pretty good.

Seeing as Casino Royal had shall we say a taste of Bourne followed by QOS which was a full blown rip off, it follows Bond 24 will feature Craig in a cape and cowl, hopping roof top to roof top, and growling at every henchman he comes across!

I hope Godzilla buries Garfield the cat's Spidey 2 which will be in that film's 3rd weekend of release. Godzilla looks like a huge box office hit here.

Lego movie finally lost the #1 to taken 3, I mean Liam neeson and non stop.

Hobbit 2 is still shy of a billion, frozen just hit a billion, to robocop dropped to 6 th but will hit $200 million no problem. I can only hope it does not make enough to get a sequel.

Frozen opened few weeks earlier. I hope Smaug still get a shot for a billion dollar club. It just opened in China, and it hasn't open in Japan yet. And to hell RoboBatCop. As in the old saying, you do not remake a classic.

Yep. Hannibal was THAT good. It was anazing. And from some of the spoilers I've read, this season is going to be even more insane than the first.

On an unrelated note.. I quite enjoyed the Oscars.. though Ellen broke Twitter trying to get people to retweet her group selfie picture. I tried to but couldn't. And Twitter was weird for a bit as a result.

Did not see the show I don't know Elllen's improve would be worse than some of the recent shows. James Franco for instance. Even though I did now watch it was easy to predict the major category winners maybe the Oscars should become a every other year event?

I made my decision to stop watching the Oscars when SF was breaking records at the box office. The Best Oscars was 10 years ago, and that was when LOTR3 won all 11 nods, not to mentioned the appearance of Sean and Pierce.

I wish I'd been able to watch the Oscars live just so I could follow the Rifftrax live tweet. I mean, the tweets are still there, of course, but they don't make much sense when not in sync with the broadcast.
