Nothing wrong with that though, is there?Commander 0077 wrote:I have it on good account .... some of the same people who liked Bourne also went to see Bond. They just wanted to see a good action film. They did not necessarily go to see a 'Bond film.'
Don't ask me to give my sources, I shan't talk
New producers don't have Bond choosing skill

That's just a matter of opinion Terry. For many fans Daniel Craig does look like James Bond and there is no problem.Terry wrote:With Sony's money behind them I think they can cast whoever they want now and sell him with a massive PR campaign. He doesn't even have to look like a James Bond now.
Trouble is you kids here don't wanna play nice and can't get over Pierce moving on. Well not all of you.

What's obvious to some isn't to many.Oddjob wrote:I think they've changed the way Bond looks so in theory they can cast anyone now.
Change Superman to a guy 3 inches below six feet, have him thin, red hair. But changing the 'look of Superman' for the past half century in the comics and movies wouldn't matter to many.
And when some Bond fans point out the obvious in the radical change in Bond's appearance, it (mantra) 'doesn't matter' 'doesn't matter' 'doesn't matter' ...................................
As Sherlock Holmes might have said, "Singularly strange." I suspect subliminal communications in CR

.... and only the strongest minds rejected

That Superman analogy failed... Superman looks like Superman as always, but James Bond looks like the actor who plays him and they all have very distinctive features and additions to their characters.
I'll have to agree with one reviewer on Octopussy:
Having watched Connery and Moore movies back to back, I'm reminded of the differences between the two. Connery, of course, was suave and cool and good looking. You actually believed that a woman would go to bed with him, even if she was supposed to kill him. Whereas, Roger Moore just looks like your foppish uncle, who no woman under 40 would dream of doing.

True, Mr Commander0077. If a short, ugly man wth a blonde crewcut was cast as Superman. Aint it Cool news and all the Superman fan community would go ballistic.
Craig looks different from the five Bond's and any other description of him. If not, then why were there so many complaints when he was up for the part of Bond?
We know that Stocksilvian thinks Sir Roger Moore is ugly.

When did I ever actually say "Moore is ugly" or even suggested that he is? That's right, I never did. I never claimed any Bond to be. Don't be putting words in my mouth buddy.
