Dirty Benny's after action report from London mission:

This mission was a VIP escort/protection detail. Mrs. Benny had to report to the home office for training so I accompanied her for security.

Thanks to fellow agent Kristatos for the suggestions, unfortunately my travels didn't take me close enough to most for a visit except one; the College of Arms was only two blocks from Mrs. Benny's work, so after squiring her to the front door I continued down the street for a picture. I spent the remainder of the day on a tour bus, unfortunately SPECTRE agents were on to me as at one point the bus approached an intersection which was immediately swarmed with police, a suspicious package had been left at a government office nearby, prompting the bomb squad to shut down all traffic while they delt with the device. All went well thanks to the quick efforts of the police, unfortunately my bus was delayed several hours necessitating another ride the following day.

Day two was an uneventful bus ride finishing my tour of London's many landmarks leading me to day three, a stop at the St. James neighborhood. Some shaving soap was purchased at Floris and a shirt fitting at Turnbull and Asser, where I'm somewhat ashamed to say I pulled a "David Zaritski" and bought a pair of cocktail cuff shirts. Lunch was taken at the St. James club where Ian Fleming was once a member, followed by two martinis at Duke's bar, again another one of Fleming's supposed haunts. A stop at the Havana Cigar Exchange lead to the consumption of two magnificent cigars accompanied by some delicious rum.

After the epicurean delights of the previous day, day four saw some much needed R&R. A late start for some gift souvenirs and dinner at a nearby pub before Mrs. Benny and I boarded an evening bus tour so she could get a taste of the city before departure. The following day we winged our way back home arriving safe and sound though extremely tired.

Sounds like you had a good trip. It's reassuring to know that things like shaving soap still exist.

What is with all the flights being cancelled and then, when they get sorted out, it resulting in having to go a very circuitous route to get home/their destination? This has happened to two of my friends on Twitter and nearly happened to me on my way home from Denver last month!

Not heard about this. Could it be because of the wildfires?

Parents and I are planning a trip-they have decided this is going to be their last big vacation before retiring from vacationing(except for drive or flyable places in the States.).

A friend was talking up Vietnam.I said I liked that Idea-not crazy about the whole day you lose getting there but it is inexpensive, the food is good and the people very friendly.

My sister went to Vietnam when she was younger, part of a tour of the Far East, including China when it was just starting to open up to western tourists

I remember selling some Delft pottery when I was volunteering at a charity's eBay store. I learned quite a lot about antiques from that job.
