Greg Haugen wrote:Although OHMSS is top of many Bond lists (including mine) there doesn't seem to be an awful lot of middle-ground. I think the one-off nature of the film - in tone and casting - makes it a unique cult entry.
I think the annoying thing for me with OHMSS, is that it could be so much better. There are elements of the film which make it stand out, but perhaps the film's unique nature could be the reason for it's popularity.

I'd vote for DAF (and you still insist that Moore's films were silly?!) and OHMSS (mainly because of Lazenby's lack of acting skills and his inept attempts to be like Connery, especially in the first part of the film)
- "Do I look like I give a d**n?"
- You don't. And that's the main problem.

Excluding Casino Royale, I'd probably say OHMSS - I didn't think George Lazenby's portrayal of Bond was very good at all, also the film dragged on for a bit too long.

Diamonds are forever. I love Connery too bad he was wasted in this one.
On Her Majesty would be my next least favorite.

A Roger Moore film, possibly The Man with the Golden Gun, and such a waste too since Christopher Lee played such an awesome villain.

Lee was indeed very good, but then so was Roger.

I'm tempted to say AVTAK, DAF, and DAD yet none of them betrayed one of the core components of Fleming's character making him a trashy hothead.

I feel exactly the same way about CR. It was so close to being a great Bond film, but a handful of bad decisions by EON and Martin Campbell ruined it for me.
