Given the choice between Craig and Statham, I'd go with Statham. I'm sue he can do a posher accent and he'd be great in the fight scenes. :)

Just married Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz look downcast as they hit the shops

They say the honeymoon period is the most blissful part of married life.

But it didn't appear that way for newlyweds Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, yesterday.

The couple could barely raise a smile despite the fact they were enjoying a day out shopping at the exclusive designer shop Maxfield in Los Angeles.
Image
The James Bond star looked fit in a dressed down look of blue jeans, tennis shirt and trainers, while Rachel wore a a pretty black dress day dress.

The pair surprised the world when they got married in a low key ceremony in New York.

Fans were stunned as both parties had been in long-standing relationships before they said 'I do'.

The Mummy actress Rachel, 41, had just recently split from partner, Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, with whom she has a five-year-old son and spent a decade with.

She had also previously had a relationship with respected Boon actor Neil Morrissey.
Image
Daniel, 43, ended his relationship with film producer Satsuki Mitchell in 2010 after a six-year romance.

However the couple's sizzling chemistry was captured on screen, as the real life lovers star in a series of romantic scenes in Dream House.

The couple grew close during filming in Canada last year, while playing a husband and wife in the psychological thriller.

The story follows a married couple who move into their dream home with their two young daughters, but the dream is shattered when they are haunted by former inhabitants who were murdered.

Russian actress Margarita Levieva is reportedly being lined up to star as the lead female character in the next James Bond film.

The 31-year-old actress, who starred as Ashton Kutcher's love interest in 2009 film "Spread" and alongside Matthew McConaughey in "Lincoln Lawyer". She has caught the eye of producers who want her to play the lead female character opposite Daniel Craig, who is set to reprise his role as bond in the 23rd James Bond film, reports contactmusic.com.

"The perfect Bond girl is beautiful, confident but mysterious, and Margarita has all of those qualities," said a source.

"The deal will need to be finalised sooner rather than later, because the schedule for production is supposed to get under way in around October this year," he added.

Daniel Craig: Red carpet is painful
The 43-year-old British actor is currently promoting sci-fi thriller Cowboys & Aliens, where he portrays brave cowboy Jake Lonergan. He is also famed for his role as suave agent James Bond in the iconic spy franchise, where he partakes in some jaw-dropping stunts.

As much as he enjoys his job the heartthrob isn’t keen on the showbiz side of acting, and has joked that walking the red carpet at star-studded premieres is agonising.

“Bruises and sprains belong to the job just as well as the red carpet does. And actually I don't know for sure which of those is more painful to me," he laughed to the German edition of OK! magazine.

Daniel has no plans to slow down the action-packed aspects of his job in the future, and next year will be seen in the latest 007 film Bond 23. The hunk feels he is ageing well and is proud of his athletic prowess.

"No,” he replied when the British edition of OK! magazine asked if he has noticed the ageing process.

“I have always stayed fit and know the bounds of my physical capacity. Although I certainly gasp longer after an action scene than I did ten years ago.”
I felt sorry for Arthur Bach too, trapped by all that money. Poor sod

There are more picture of Daniel and his new bride looking miserable together, I don't care to post them.

Just in case there were hopes we would not get more emo Bond
Daniel Craig Talks Bond. James Bond.
Daniel Craig has been traveling the world "selling" Cowboys & Aliens and, generally speaking, talk of James Bond has been kept to a minimum. However, he did open up a bit more about 007 with the Sydney Morning Herald.
Bond 23 (which despite rumors to the contrary will NOT be called Carte Blanche), will be directed by Sam Mendes.

While Craig admits he was initially reluctant to take on the role of Bond, he realizes that the diversity of roles he's been playing - ranging from C&A to Spielberg's The Adventures of tintin and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - are a direct results of Her Majesty's top spy.

"It's just what's happening at the moment and it's very exciting for me, because I get the chance to do movies like this, which are way beyond what I would have expected to be doing four or five years ago," says the actor.

At the same time, he knows he has to REALLY hit the gym for his third stint as Bond (following Casino Royale and Quantum of solace), which he's not looking forward to. "It's really boring," Craig sighed. "So boring I can't tell you." It's necessary, he emphasizes, because of the physical beating he took on Quantum of Solace. "Quantum was very physical," he notes. "Probably too physical. We were suffering because there was the writer's strike and we weren't allowed to do rewrites, so the action sequences got juggled together and I personally ended up doing way too much. It was difficult."

Craig and director Sam Mendes have been meeting regularly to work on the script for Bond 23, with Craig expressing, "Both of us said to each other, ‘Let's just try to do the best James Bond film we can.' I know that sounds like a cliche or an obvious thing to say, but I went back and reread the books and watched all the movies and I want to do something that does [Bond] justice... It's two years out of my life and so I kind of need to be part of it... The character is set, in a way. So it's much more about the storytelling."
Have to love Danile's excuses 3 years on I supposes after Bond 23 replaces Qos as worst film ever made he'll blame the delay and financial trouble for all his woes.

DANIEL Craig gave women palpitations emerging from the sea in his blue swimming trunks.
Not sure emerging from the gym in sweaty grey cut-offs will cause quite the same number of admittances to A&E.

The 007 star is said to be getting in shape because he's trying for a baby with new wife Rachel Weisz.

He's also given up smoking, which could explain the stroppy look on his face.

Hibs still haven't managed to coax the original Ronaldo out of retirement yet.

The Brazil footie legend might have knackered knees and be carrying a bit too much timber but he could still do a job upfront alongside Garry O'Connor at Easter Road.

The former World Player Of The Year was snapped in New York, where he was celebrating his birthday over the weekend.

Hopefully his mates weren't tempted to order him a supersized cake.
Thought you guys might enjoy this

Report: Man Averts Facebook Disaster, Credits James Bond Movie
Christopher Harris Says He'll Stick To Twitter

Read more: http://www.wpbf.com/news/29370098/detail.html

A Florida man said a recent viewing of a James Bond movie helped him avoid a potential disaster that all started on Facebook, according to a report.

Christopher Harris told police in Jacksonville that he met who he thought was a woman on Facebook, then when he arranged to meet her in person, it turned out to be a man with a gun, News4Jax.com reported.

Harris went to meet his new online friend on a dead-end road, where the man pulled out a gun and shot into Harris' car, he told WJXT-TV.

He slammed the car into reverse, backed into a fence and then a tree, but eventually was able to get away, he told the station.

"I'm glad I watched James Bond yesterday," he told WJXT. "I don't even like Facebook. I was on Twitter, then I go back to Facebook for two days and this happens."

Harris called police, who after looking into his claim, discovered that the profile that had once intrigued Harris had been deleted, WJXT reported.

"I'm not going back to Facebook," he told the station. "I'm staying on Twitter. Stuff like that don't happen on Twitter."

London, Oct 10 (PTI) ''Terminator Salvation'' star Sam Worthington says he would not want to see a James Bond movie staring himself because the last Australian in the role was pathetic.
The 35-year-old actor, who was shortlisted to one of the final three actors to take on the role of the iconic spy which eventually went to Daniel Craig, is ultimately glad he didn''t get it, Contactmusic reported.

"Do you know what? I wouldn''t want to see a James Bond movie with me in it anyway''. The last time there was an Australian as James Bond it was George Lazenby and he didn''t do it properly. I don''t want to be the new George Lazenby.
But, you know, I learnt a lot from that, which I took to the ''Avatar'' auditions," he said.

Worthington went on to win high profiles roles as Jake Sully in ''Avatar'' and Perseus in ''Clash of the Titans'' but gets upset when he''s criticised for being over-exposed.

"For many years I didn''t work. I was unemployed. It''s weird now that I get criticised for working. In my mind, if you don''t want to see my movies, dont'' go and see them," he added.

I'm over Worthington as Bond once I had really liked him as Bond, I thought he could of been this generations Bond Craig clearly is not, he is a moldy 80's guy not a fresh young face of this generation. After everything Worthington runs his mouth about I'm to the point where I'm glad he lost the role, Cavill was the better choice. In some ways Worthington is cruder than Craig he would of been this generations Craig and a crude thug at that.

Gary Barlow Compared To James Bond Villain By Noel Gallagher
During radio interview...

By David Renshaw on Thursday 13th October 2011
Gary Barlow has been compared to a James Bond villain by Gary Barlow.

The former Oasis man, who is releasing a solo album later this month, made the observation after watching Take That star Gary appearing on the current series of X Factor. Noticing the way Barlow tends to sit, Noel joked:

"Gary's sitting sideways a lot. Just like some James Bond baddie, isn't he? Where he kind of swivels round, 'Ah, yes, you're just not good enough'.

However, Noel was not using the Absolute Radio interview to criticise Barlow, saying: "Gary's all right, I've met him a few times, he's a good lad."

Gallagher also backed Gary Barlow's claim that the minimum age for entering X Factor should be raised to 18.

Bond cars on display

Post by Blowfeld »

The National Motor Museum announces a new Bond In Motion exhibition, starring 50 vehicles used in the James Bond films, which opens in January.
By Paul Hudson3:18PM GMT 01 Nov 2011.

An exhibition of 50 vehicles used in the James Bond films will go on display from January 18 a the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in the New Forest.
The Museum and EON Productions, the UK-based production company which makes the James Bond films, announced the display in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Bond film, as well as the Museum's 40th birthday.
The exhibition, claimed to be the largest of its kind staged anywhere in the world, will feature many of the well known and best loved cars that have featured in 007's adventures down the years.
Bond In Motion will feature a range of Bond-related vehicles including cars, boats, motorbikes, sleds, jets and many more. As ever, the star attraction will be the silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger, in tandem with the 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III owned by arch-villain Auric Goldfinger.
Other famous vehicles include "Wet Nellie", the aquatic Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me, and the BMW 750iL from Tomorrow Never Dies.

There's also the tiny Bede Acrostar jet used in Octopussy, the original Parahawk paraglider/snowmobile hybrid featured in The World is Not Enough and the original cello case navigated by Timothy Dalton during a snowy chase in The Living Daylights.
Stephen Munn, Beaulieu's commercial director, said: "2012 is going to be a very exciting year for the National Motor Museum. After many months of planning, the preparation of the Bond exhibition area is about to begin and the first consignment of vehicles, on their way from the USA, will be arriving in a few weeks"
The Bond In Motion exhibition will run from January to December 2012 at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.
Full details at www.beaulieu.co.uk or call 01590 612345.
* To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the invention of the car, the National Motor Museum has launched a challenge to create the definitive list of the 125 most important cars of all time.
The Museum houses a working replica of the car that started it all. Karl Benz applied for a patent for his motor vehicle, widely regarded as the first automobile, in January 1886 and unveiling it to the public later in the year.
"We're looking for the cars that have been most influential and made the biggest impact on history. These are not necessarily the prettiest or the fastest but those that have broken new ground and made the motor car what it is today," said a spokesman for the National Motor Museum.

Bond-themed bonfire begins with a bang

Post by Blowfeld »

By James Connell

THOUSANDS of people pitched up on Pitchcroft to watch a towering bonfire explode into life followed by a dazzling fireworks display.

Between 5,000 and 7,000 people attended the bonfire and display, organised by Worcester Round Table, on Saturday which literally began with a bang – from a ‘bomb’.

Crowds were in double 007 heaven as Wyvern FM played classic James Bond songs during a spectacular display during which fireworks painted gigantic smiley faces in the sky, provoking gasps of amazement from spectators.

Greg Jones, aged 30, of Pershore, chairman of the Round Table, said: “It has been a roaring success. We have a big fire this year and we have had a lot of people donate wood for it. It has certainly been popular.”

The bonfire had a tunnel in it and in the centre a bale of hay soaked in petrol.

A ‘bomb’ was placed inside which was activated by the Mayor of Worcester Councillor David Tibbutt after a countdown from the crowd.

The event is expected to raise at least £10,000.

The cash will be split between good causes chosed by the Round Table, including city-based New Hope, which works with families who have children with disabilities and complex health care needs; Young Carers, which supports children as young as seven who are carers by sending them to Dinedor Camp in Herefordshire to take part in activities; and buying a sitting to standing wheelchair for Nikki Thompson.

Coun Tibbutt said: “I have never seen such a conflagration in all my life. The Round Table are to be congratulated.

“It really does bring the whole city together and just look at the turnout we have here. What a blessing it hasn’t rained.

“It’s great fun – Worcester does it best.”

Mr Jones said the display, which takes six months to plan, was down to the hard work of his colleagues and friends on the Round Table – Rob Lambert, Phil Fielding and Steve Slawson.
