Worst moment in Quantum of Solace?

I finally got around to watching QOS - and I'd really been looking forward to it. But, d**n, that movie sucked! I'm very disappointed!

The script was just preposterous. I mean, I expect to seriously suspend disbelief when watching a bond film but this film was just awful.

Take the DC-3 sequence. 1st, no way in hell anyone would let him "test fly" a DC-3 with just a POS jeep as collateral. DC-3's are old, but they still cost a hell of a lot more than any car. And they take ... forever ... to get ready to fly. They would have been captured long before he had those radials warmed up.

The physics of the dog fight were just awful. From what I could tell, anyway. The editing made it pretty much impossible to follow. Continuity seems not to be a factor in any of QOS's action pieces.

And a DC-3 could never sustain so steep a climb, especially on one engine, for a fraction of the time they proposed in the movie. And where the hell did that one parachute come from? Airplanes do not have spare parachutes lying around in them. Not even ones used for skydiving.

And they just happened to bailout over what must be the deepest underground hole in the world (ala Cave of the Swallows)? And of course, survive, Travis Pastrana like, without a scratch. And just happen to be a short walk from solving the mystery of Quantum by stumbling on that underground dam. How convenient. Also very convenient how they didn't need climbing gear to get out of the 1000' plus deep hole.

God, that movie sucked.

Originality by Haggis Jor-el, originality , as was sanctioned by Eon. I call it trash, pure and simple. It will take more than Kal-el to save this franchise. It will take Jackman or a Purefoy type to restore it's sanity.

Lazy scriptwriting there for sure!

Yes, but overall you thought the film was average at least. You even saw it on more than one occassion at the cinema.

So, do you still think the film is ok, or do you now passionately hate it....?

I haven't bought it on video..I don't feel compelled to buy multiple copies,lest I be considered a "bad". fan. Screw that.I can live with being considered a "bad" fan because I don't waste my money buying multiple copies of QOS.

I haven't watched it since. And like I said, I didn't buy the video. I'm not a sheep. I saw the posts on some Bond boards with people going "I bought 5 copies of the Special Edition and 10 copies of the bare bones edition of QOS". Yes, it's their money to spend, but I'm not giving in to it. Like I said:If I'm a "bad" fan for not following the herd,so be it.

I didn't ask if you've bought the DVD. I asked if your opinion on QoS has changed, from being an ok film, to one that you think is absolutely sh!t now (by the post you made earlier agreeing with oscartheman).

I watched QOS again. The scene where Bond flips the motorcycle in the air is very bad as others have said.

What was the worst moment in Quantum of Solace? Choose some moments other than the obvious abysmal parachute jump.

I think the worst moment for me was realising I'd just spend £6 for the privilege of watching this turd of a movie. I can't think of anything I actually like about the film.
