Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
Where have I said the trailer is great. I think it serves its purpose, but I have fears that it looks almost Brosnanish with the excessive action (but maybe you like Brosnan now...its hard to keep up with your drastic ever-changing opinions).katied wrote:You don't have to agree with my change of heart.I find it amusing that the people here(like you)who used to be kind of skeptical about Bond are now piling on to say how great the QOS trailer is.Speaking of changing one's mind.....
The trailer is growing on me though, the more I see it. Also, the blogs on the Bond website are interesting. The bike scene made me initially think of Bourne rip-off in the trailer, but after watching the blog, now I know it lands on the boat for the chase (with no CGI) this is going to be an awesome scene.
And I have never changed my mind about CR.....unlike some!!!

Bj, at least your opinions are solid, even if I don't agree with them.bjmdds wrote:Seasons change. Opinions evolve, ala sweet K-Td's.katied wrote:People can change *shrug*Funny how you had no tolerance for Craig bashing only a few months ago. How times have changed....
This girl had a mad, wild, crazy witch on hunt on Thrice for daring to change his opinion, and his change of opinion was nothing as drastic as this.
11 TIMES at the cinema. That is how many times she watched CR. I only saw CR 3 times at the cinema. She also slagged off this website endlessly, when it was all cosy at MI6, she was Craig and CR's biggest fan....up until it all turned sour for her just a few months ago over at MI6.
Now, to fit in here, she suddenly, overnight, hates all things Craig, all things CR, and all things QOS. Hell, next I can imagine her saying she is now suddenly a massive fan of DAD (something she used to hate as much as me).

Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
We'll see. Now that a trailer is out, the marketing machine has finally kicked off and we'll see how big the hype will build up. It will be hard to top CR, but then again that's what I said about DAD before CR was released. We'll see, this is only the beginning.

I loathe the Craig with large machine gun image too. It seems to be an iconic image of Craig's Bond = how awful.Kristatos wrote:Well, I finally got to watch this on my computer at home, and it looks like a lot of what I disliked in CR is going to carry over into the new film. Chief among them is that Craig still isn't Bond to me, even in long-shot. The Really Big Gun from the final scene of CR makes a reappearance and I find it fundamentally unBondlike. What happened to the Walther PPK and M telling him off for carrying such a girly gun?
Did the final shot of Casino Royale resonate with people so much that that is now their image of Bond?
I'll stick to traditional image of Bond.

Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
Any of y'all think that that big gun might be Bond um, compensating for a lack of a certain something?

Looks like more of the same but without an Ian Fleming book to crib from this time. That short bloke with the machine gun is not James Bond and never will be. No real Bond atmosphere to the teaser. It could easily have been the new Transporter trailer. Judi Dench is becoming a bit tiresome and that's a polite way of putting it. And yes, Eon have watched The Bourne Ultimatum.

This is more of a British Rambo/Bourne than a James Bond film.Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:I loathe the Craig with large machine gun image too. Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
I rather have Bond take a slice of Bourne than what they took in 1973.

Now that was more blatant than the Bourne influence.

Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
That's not what Stocks was saying. He was talking about cinema influences/trends.
If you think CR was influenced by Bourne (d**n right, IMO) then you may as well lump Batman Begins in there too. The trend for action heroes these days is gritty realism, blood, and no CGI (Spielberg/Lucas you should be ashamed of yourselves with what you did with Indy 4)....

There is a deleted scene from A View To A Kill where Roger said: "Stacy, where is my motherf*****g quiche".Kristatos wrote:More's the pity. C'mon, tell me you wouldn't like to hear Roger Moore talking jiveCapt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:But Roger Moore did not turn Bond into Shaft, you poltroon.

Or just go to UTube http://youtube.com/watch?v=7jtzvkQn8Mk
What an uninspired trailer! Draggin the chair across the floor just like they are going to drag out the CR story line.
I sense more than a little Bourne envy. Bond gone rogue? oh noes! Vesper? Don't even care if she was buried.
This looks like a movie I can wait for cable on. FX or spike would be right up their ally.

Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
Unfortunately for you, it looks like that could be a long way off. Craig is Bond, and QOS will be even bigger than CR was. There is no stopping the Daniel Craig juggernaught now!!Mazer Rackham wrote: Dench was right about one thing "It's time to go."

Pride goes before destruction
I realize you picked that picture for your signature becasue you thinks it look goods
Funny its the same one I'd pick to show what bond shouldn't look like.
QOS will do far less business than CR. Inflation might help you out a little. By November inflation will quadruple. The cost of heating the theater, cost of shipping the movies out, Cost of gas and the cost of food are not going to be Quantum Quark's friends.
Boring story setup. Boring dialogs. A few spazmatic snippets of what could be actions scenes or it could be Craig's aunt turning on the blender. Shot the way it is one can't tell.
This is not a good trailer. They did better for CR and those weren't that great.
This all the franchise need is mind numbed selfcongratulating yes bots clapping away no matter how bad it is just because it has the official stamp on it. Showing up to flame and bully anybody who has a different opinion of the crap being churned out.
Without honest criticism it will all go down in flames.
This is a regurgitated story and a mimic of other popular better done series.

Re: Trailer is released!!!!!
Actually if you check other Bond websites, its not all back-slapping and congratulating fellow Craig fans, even on the likes of MI6. There are plenty who do not like the trailer, and there are people like myself who have alarm bells ringing with fears that we could be heading for more of the same crap we endured during the nightmare Brozza years.Mazer Rackham wrote:This all the franchise need is mind numbed selfcongratulating yes bots clapping away no matter how bad it is just because it has the official stamp on it. Having said all that, QOS will be huge when it is released, whether you are a Craig fan or not. If you cannot see that happening, you really are in denial. I hated Indy 4 with a passion, but even I knew that was going to be huge. Its got nothing to do with whether you like the film or not.
