Re: SPECTRE box office
Well its down to me and the big 'O' here, as to who is going to be closest to SP's final BO tally.
At present i think 'Omega's' estimate of $850 mil, is favorite to win.
For me to win at $875 mil, the film will need to do really good business in Japan, but what i've heard so far from Japan doesn't sound promising.

OK TROLL-Y. Now that you have gone over the line, your posts have entitled you to a one-way ticket out of here
You simply are no longer worth ANY effort. Have a nice life, if that is even possible.

Re: SPECTRE box office
If you think this is the end of Cr-egg as you put it then why don't you start posting in the Bond #7 thread would love to see your suggestions in that thread. With that being said Spectre has been a success for Sony and Eon and that won't be the reason for Craig leaving. It's still the second biggest Bond film of all-time.bjmdds wrote:Monday's take in the USA was $474,007 and in "6th" place. It wil be a struggle to pass $200 million here. It will probably end under $850 million worldwide at best. SW awaits next week
That will be a massive drop from the last film and it is not going to make Broccoli happy.

Re: SPECTRE box office
The USA box office is shaping up to be a final 33% reduction at the box office vs. Bond 23. Get the accountants ready

Re: SPECTRE box office
The worldwide taking's are currently at $820,567,660.
Spectre, so far, is now the 5th highest grossing film of 2015.

Re: SPECTRE box office
According to Box Office Mojo, SPECTRE is No. 6 globally for 2015.

And No. 10 in the U.S. and Canada.

There's no question SPECTRE had very good ticket sales. Not as strong as Skyfall's, but a lot of movies would take it. Profit for the studios involved will be a lot less -- budget up, revenue down. We'll see if that affects the budget for Bond 25.

Re: SPECTRE box office
could be why bond 25 production is supposed to start 2016 get the movie out by 2017 to make it up to the studio. But then they'll be competing with the next Star Wars I think is already filming or will be soonNapoleon Solo wrote:According to Box Office Mojo, SPECTRE is No. 6 globally for 2015.

Bond 25 starting production in 2016. What ever gave you that idea???Omega wrote:could be why bond 25 production is supposed to start 2016 get the movie out by 2017 to make it up to the studio.
Are you sure you're not getting confused with 'Development of Bond 25, starting next year'?
I don't think we'll be seeing the next one, until fall 2018.

Re: SPECTRE box office
I agree.....firstly next year, EON have got to find another studio to help them carry on with the franchise, and obviously an analysis of the BO of SP will be a big talking point.STAVRO wrote:Bond 25 starting production in 2016. 2018 does look the most likely year for the next Bond film.
Regarding the BO, it does look like you are going to win the competition big 'O'.

Spectre delivered an additional $12.9 million from 5,282 screens in 94 total overseas markets this weekend, lifting the international total to $629.8 million and the worldwide total to $820.6 million. Bond was the #1 film in Japan for the second weekend in a row, down just 22% to gross $2.3 million from 588 screens. The market cume has climbed to $12.5 million there.

Meanwhile, if they're looking to shave a few (million) dollars from Bond 25's budget, they may want to consider casting this chap in place of Waltz as Blofeld:

Trolly or whoever I never said they were going to get it done, all I said was the reason maybe the talk like they were getting into gear for a quick turnaround was all. Don't mistake me for someone who think s eon is competent

Re: SPECTRE box office
After 6 completed weekends in the USA, ECHHHHHHH-TRE is down a solid "30%" vs. Mendes' prior flick. They cannot be rejoicing in EON-land!
Overseas, it trails the previous flick by $175 million and there are NO new territories to open in. Ticket prices are higher now, the budget was the biggest EVER according to EON, yet the box office was off substantially from what MGM/SONY expected. We will see who the new partner is soon and whether or not this farce continues throughout time

Re: SPECTRE box office
It only dropped 20% or so in Japan. It would have been fitting for it to end with a really spectacular 2nd weekend drop in its final territory, like the ones in Britain and China. Oh well.

But Japan is not a huge market for Bond like some other countries are..................Bond was the #1 film in Japan for the second weekend in a row, down just 22% to gross $2.3 million from 588 screens. The market cume has climbed to $12.5 million there.
