You have your wish fulfilled FBF. You won't need a Khan-ed up ST-2 so you can concentrate on Pierce's career going forward, Daniela Transvesta's career come to an abrupt and deserved end, and then we can officially refer to you as FBF who is also FSTF :!:

Hopefully Khan won't be in ST2. And BJ, do you think Ben is really Khan in the latest movie stills?

As for November Man, that project was set to film in 2006 but was cancelled afterwards. I hope it's not cancelled again.

Pierce had better start cranking out these flicks one after another already. Khan? We shall see.

There are several villains in TOS (I still have a long way to go to finish it) you make younger versions out of. For Khan, this is impossible, considering he was frozen from the 90s up to time being discovered by Kirk and his crew. If Khan is in ST2, he will be the same age as he was in Space Seed, and that wouldn't make any sense to have someone other than Ricardo to play him unless there is a technology good enough to make ST2 Khan look more like Ricardo himself. Gary Mitchell you can make a younger version out of. I get that the reboot takes place in the alternative universe where anything can happen, but still I would want something new rather than rehashing characters and elements from the previous episodes and films. If you want to rehash a villain, try Gary Mitchell. Otherwise, go for something new for a change.

In other news, I'm super happy the Avengers is breaking box office all-time records and seriously hope it breaks Avatar's record as I detest Avatar (and I loved the Avengers). Sorry to disagree with FBF and BJ but I DO think the new Spiderman looks very good and people sound very excited for it. The trailer is very good. I also NEVER thought Tobey McGuire was particularly good as Spiderman, I find him way too baby-faced and insipid to play Spiderman. I do think Andrew is a better choice. He sure looks more like the Peter Parker I saw in cartoons as a kid than McGuire did. Both the trailers for the Amazing SpiderMan look great. And they look a lot like the stories from the comics, that I saw in cartoons as a kid. I think it'll do very well at the box office.

In the original timeline, that's true, but since this is a reboot, the original continuity is irrelevant. I hope they don't use Khan, though, simply because it seems too obvious. Everyone is saying that the second movie should feature Khan just because the second movie in the original series did, which doesn't strike me as a very good reason.

I agree.

I don't see any of the new actors as the modern day equivalent to the original actors. FBF We saw the original crew young, there is maybe a 3 to 4 year difference in most of the ages not enough to say this is how Kirk become Kirk. Just because the reboot is the Muppet's Babies on the bridge of a shinny mirror finished Enterprise doesn't mean that Cris Pine is more legitimate as Kirk than say Benedict Cumberbatch as Kahn, I'd rather he wasn't. To many intelligent ways to make a character for him without trampling on Ricardo Montalban. If he is, then it is a tribute to Ricardo,
He was the epitome of continental elegance, charm and grace on film and TV
I agree with this assessment completely, I think Benedict can do the Kahn role justice, it's not a race thing, hiring a Latin looking person doesn't make them right for the role either. Kahn was an incredibly intelligent character, that's how Ricardo played him and Benedict is an actor capable of showing true intelligence on screen, otherwise they may as well hire Daniel Craig, add a layer to his fake tan and botox because then he'd look a Mexican wrestler.

Chris did show some Shatner mannerisms at the end of the reboot.

I'm not saying it will be bad. Yes, the trailer is good and interesting. I'm just saying it's too soon for a reboot, and I would rent it instead. But still though, I hope the new Spidey makes more than Bond 23 at the box office (both worldwide and here in the US).

OH, I hadn't understood your position FBF. And yes, Spidey will definitely do FAR better than Bond 23 at the box office... it's enough to look at the different reactions to understand there's no comparison between the two. I really have a hard time believing Bond has sunk to such lows and more than that, that it has become something that doesn't resemble Bond at ALL. It's ridiculous, and it's incredibly stupid on the producers' part. Not that we didn't know who we were dealing with, but even I didn't think it would get to THIS. A nonsensical, jumbled mess where it's impossible to recognise James Bond. We only know he's there because they keep repeating his name and telling us tha the Craigster is Bond. Otherwise? Give this to a Bond fan like my dad, and he would ASK "WHO is James Bond here? I can't see him" (and he did that with CR... he couldn't believe the "blond, ugly dude" was James Bond.)

I had just seen the teaser poster on Facebook... it is HORRID. LOL those ears really do stick out (which is just a petty thing to say, I know but LORD!)

Cr-egg in that poster reminds me of Andy Dufresne crawling his way through the sewer system in The Shawshank Redemption. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neO5fnwQjqg A proper fit for a wretched actor going septic. Spiderman will not come close to Tobey's box office numbers and I am not so sure it will even beat Bond 23 at the box office. I hope it does but Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and a dorky actor as Spiderman do not add up to replacing the prior actor/actresses from the previous three films. I will see The Avengers this Saturday night.

You would accuse me of being a minion??????????? No, just being realistic about Spiderman possibly be a bust. Internationally Spiderman will do poorly compared to Bond. It's just a fact soon to be FSTF-IFKHANISBACK. I hope it does beat Bond 23 but it might not, so be prepared and hang in there. I see no need for this Spiderman film and after The Avengers, the public might wait until the Bat comes out to shell out superhero dough. The Bat will OBLITERATE Garfield the cat's Spiderman. I think very little of Andrew's appeal to the masses. He looks like an idiot. http://i.huffpost.com/gen/599643/thumbs ... -large.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4G84InYbnAg/T ... er-Man.jpg This is a superhero? He looks like a teenage kid in a Halloween costume who just got into a fight with his friends. The storyline is moronic and a lizard http://i.huffpost.com/gadgets/slideshow ... 5_free.jpg as the enemy in a blockbuster? :!: Is this the Creature From The Black Lagoon? Why do you think Godzilla flopped? People hate reptiles especially talking ones wearing clothing and using a camera :!: http://cache.reelz.com/photos/110000/10 ... 09_glg.jpg Jaws 4 anyone? Martin Sheen will ruin any film, http://cache.reelz.com/photos/100000/98 ... 38_glg.jpg with the former Flying Nun as well. They are exploring Peter Parker's pysche in this film. Sound like another upcoming flop in November we all know? http://cache.reelz.com/photos/90000/89872/89872_glg.jpg No chemistry here like Tobey and MJ. Storyline:
Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero. To top this off, the director Of 500 Days Of Summer is directing this.  YAWN :!: Maguire played Parker in three films between 2000 and 2007, with total grosses tallying just under $2.5 billion worldwide. Are you seeing Battleship FBF?

I just want to see Bond 23 fail to make it to this year's top 10 grossing films (both worldwide and ESPECIALLY here in the US). It'll take more than just the Avengers, the Bat, vampires, and Middle Earth creatures to do so. When there is choice between Garfield's Spidey and DC's corrupted Bond, I choose Garfield though I never buy into this Spidey reboot. Let's not forget that EVERYTHING is preferable over Bond these days, and I don't mean Rocky V or Jaws: The Revenge are preferable over Bond 23.

I might see it this Sunday, and I will see MIB3 also.
