The first Saturday will suffice FBF as it will add to the opening totals any day of that weekend. What kind of Bat suit did you buy? Will they allow you to enter the theatre in that garb? We should call you Bruce BANE, instead of FBFFormerBondFan wrote:For an Anti-Craig rebel, BJ will have to see TDKR during the opening night.

TDKR's opening night is very big event, and you wouldn't to miss this, BJ. I don't care if the theaters will be packed.
As with DH2, I will see TDKR 11 times, and this will include the opening night.
I have black pants, black shoes, and a Batshirt. What I still need are the mask, black gloves, and a cape. What kind of Bat suit did you buy? Will they allow you to enter the theatre in that garb? We should call you Bruce BANE, instead of FBF![]()

All five 'Star Trek' captains unite at London event
http://news.yahoo.com/five-star-trek-ca ... 55888.html
http://news.yahoo.com/five-star-trek-ca ... 55888.html
Star Trek" is beaming over to London in October and boldly going where no trekkie event has gone before by bringing together all five TV captains on stage for the first time.
Organizers for "Destination Star Trek London" said on Monday that their fan convention would be the first official "Star Trek" live event in the UK for 10 years.
To mark the occasion, actors William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard), Avery Brooks (Commander Sisko), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) and Scott Bakula (Captain Archer), who have commanded operations in each of their respective series based on the iconic TV franchise that began in 1966, will appear on stage together.
"The 'Star Trek' fan base in the UK is one of the biggest in the world, and it has waited a long time for the convention to return, so we wanted to make sure we did it right," said Liz Kalodner, general manger of CBS Consumer Products, which owns the TV franchise.
Shatner, 81, the first captain of the starship Enterprise, has been a fan favorite at conventions, mostly in the United States, that attract thousands of trekkies.
Avery Brooks, who became the first black actor to take the lead role when he appeared in the 1993-99 series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", has also made appearances, along with Kate Mulgrew, who made a splash as female Captain Janeway in "Star Trek: Voyager" for six years.
But all five actors have never appeared together at an official event for the cult series.
Organizers said they were expecting some 10,000-15,000 people from all over the world to attend the London convention at the Excel Exhibition Centre from Oct 19-21. Tickets go on sale starting April 30.
"It's not just the five captains. There will be a host of other guests from the series. The fans will be able to get up close," said Rob Nathan, marketing director for Media 10 which is organizing the events in collaboration with CBS.
Nathan said the London event would be bigger and better than many other "Star Trek" events.
"We are going to make this really interactive. There are going to be stunt displays, we are going to recreate some sets, and get some original sets. People will be able to sit on the starship bridge with members of the cast," he said.
Nathan said some 14,000 people had registered to sign up for information about the London event after an initial, cryptic Twitter message was posted at the beginning of March.
"It's going to be an absolute pilgrimage for 'Star Trek' fans," he said.
More information can be found on website www.startreklondon.com which goes live on Monday.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Right now Avengers hype is at an all-time high as Marvel’s mega-movie crosses the finish line into theaters. Inevitably, talk is now turning to what Marvel Studios has allegedly done that DC/Warner Bros. has arguably not: built sufficient hype for their big summer tentpole film.
People are currently (at the time of writing this) mentioning The Dark Knight Rises in the same breath as the word “underwhelming” – but only for now. When the new Dark Knight Rises trailer is released in front of The Avengers next week, the talk will no doubt shift all over again. Or, you can scroll down and read about some recent Dark Knight Rises footage that was screened at CinemaCon this week, and possibly get that giddy Batman movie feeling right now. We’ve seen his new aerial vehicle before and learned it’s name, The Bat, but this footage really showed it in action. It moves like a jet, doing a barrel roll as it whips over a Gotham skyscraper, but lands almost gently and efficiently like a helicopter within the safety of The Batcave. The Bat is cool. No doubt about it.
I’m sure there’s more that I’ve unintentionally left out, but the feeling I walked out of this presentation with was clear: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES truly looks like the very best of Christopher Nolan’s already legendary era of the franchise. http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/up ... s-bane.jpg

Probably down to my crappy hackintosh. When a picture loads like the batman and robin or FBF sig its full size for me then eventually shrinks. It frustrating as hell opening the page to a fullsize pic trying to read posts to have it shrink reorganizing the page. Maybe its my crappintosh connection or browser.Kristatos wrote:I remember Goldeneye talking about it, but I don't know if it was ever implemented.carl stromberg wrote:I'm sure there used to be a maximum size for signature banners.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Saw the avengers, all I have to say in the legend Samuel L Jacksons words himself is that was motherbeeping amazing, the effects were there but they weren't there all the time and used for all the right things, characterisation was great, hell this film also made Me a fan of the hulk (he was brilliant in this), this is film of the year so far (till the hobbit and dark knight rises come out), congrats Mr weddon this is how you make a real comic book hero film
.
As for Scarlett Johansen (blushes), if she was around the corner I'd marry her in a second
(anyway back to reality and the topic
).
Take note eon and babs, this is how you make a quality blockbuster, not by adding stupid complex unecessary layers to someone who's supposed to be mysterious and a killer, carry on with your self loathing crap because mark My words the world is waking up and taking notice, the avengers made Me feel like a kid again (like the great bond films used to and still do when I go back to them), your new bond or (bourne films) now are utter crap and everyone standing up and respecing all these stupid moves is doing nothing but destroying this industry, in short bond needs to be like the avengers (and I don't mean it in more of a sense then it should be fun, explosive and really make you want to come back for more like bond films of old did before this half assed shoddy reboot ).
The world needs fun, the world needs excitement, the world needs the true james bond to step back out of the ashes again because no matter how you try and dress up a pile of beep, it's still a pile of beep and with the hobbit and dark knight rises coming out this year as well you better step up your game eon or prepare to crash and burn because you're so far behind the competition that last place doesn't even qualify for you.
Weddon, Noland and many others, these people are making films that people want to see, making it for audience and not solely for themselfs, who really wants to see bond with a skinhead, drinking a heineken (it's like getting tony stark to drink a diet coke instead of the usual alcohol he drinks which like bond is usually martinis in some form ) no one wants to see an arthouse film about a fictional character struggling with his inner demons, especially someone by the name of james bond, who now looks old enough to retire (and he's 43 which isn't right) and the so called bond girls nice as they look sometimes have nothing about them that makes them look like a bond girl anymore to Me, this bond looks old enough to be their grandfather and for bond that's not classy (just like if tony stark hit on underage women, it's wrong period).

EON, Mendes, and all others under EON's control without question said they're giving what the fans want, but they're not. They're brainwashing the fans and general moviegoers into liking them. As with CR and QOS, Bond 23 will be nothing more than EON's EVIL propaganda. It has the words personal gain written all over it. Mendes is trying to restructure Bond 23 so that it can get award nominations. Now that's personal gain right there, and I'm sure BJ will agree here.

Shaken, where did you see it? I plan on seeing it the first or second Saturday it plays here in NYC. FBF, this Bond film looks like such morbid trash Eon will be running with their tails between their legs after MGM lets them have it. Pascal, the bitter herb at Sony, is as much a problem as the green vegetable at Eon. These people are clueless morons and mark my words FBF, even with higher ticket prices, DREADFUL will bomb worldwide in box office totals after it's opening weekend. "'Avengers' opens strong at global box office:
"The Avengers" doesn't open for another week in the States (so close, fans - so close!) but it's already doing gangbusters overseas. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel's superhero ensemble film brought in $17.1 million from 10 countries on opening day Wednesday, including $6.2 million from "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth's native Australia. Italy's box office saw $3.7 million in receipts for "The Avengers"; France, $2.9 million; Taiwan, $1.3 million; and just under a million in New Zealand. Unsurprisingly, studio Disney tells EW it's "extremely encouraged" by how well "Avengers" is playing in overseas markets, and the early tracking for the movie can only be strengthening that sentiment. MovieTickets.com has reported that pre-sale for "The Avengers" has outsold the advance tickest sold for "Captain America: The First Avenger"; "Thor"; "Iron Man"; and "Iron Man 2" combined. With hype like this, "Avengers" has the chance of snagging the best opening weekend gross of all time from current title holder "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," which reigns having earned $169.2 million in its opening weekend. "Avengers," meanwhile, is currently tracking to bring in between $125 million to $150 million. So now the question for the rest of us who won't be seeing a penny of that is: Should we see it in 3-D, or not?" http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets ... ry-top.jpg FBF, the Avengers will BURY this Spiderman trash at the box office too. I won't even bother seeing the Spiderman reboot until it is on HBO. It looks like trash. The Avengers looks like it will give the November vampires a run for their money too. Oh baby FBF, another franchise to MARVEL at
MP, I bet you will like Renner as Hawkeye: http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/w ... engers.jpg Ale, where the heck are you, dating Henry in secrecy?

Bjmdds: Saw it in hollywood cinema in Norfolk (UK).
As for spiderman can't say I'm a fan of it, it looks meh tbh, all the unecessary superhero reboots are getting on My nerves, spiderman didn't need a reboot & it only shows greed, despite going back to parker making his own spider cartridges (which was right ) and the lizardman this could've easily been done another way or better yet in 6 years, it was rebooted far too early.
Total recall trailer was stupid, stop remaking everything hollywood and do something different for a change, this is why films suck atm for the most part (inc anything michael I like to make everything explode bay touches and now he's even buggered up the teenage mutant ninja turtles by making them into aliens....looks like the people with the money and no sense or respect for said property make the rules now instead of the people with a head on their shoulders for most things now and it shouldn't be happening).
MIB3 looks ok but after the crapfest that was mib2 and Tommy Lee Jones again missing in action, what's the point? & Will Smith lost a lot of credibility a longtime ago imo (esp his stupid reboot of the karate kid...who does kung fu, facepalm).
People need to stop getting their hands on any said property and changing it for their means and not respecting the core material which in place pisses off said fanbase, I think there should be a law against it, change a few things fine, but don't ever change the formula.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I remember when the first Iron Man movie came out in 2008 that I felt it was the best comic-book based movie I had seen to that point. It was faithful to its source material (the filmmakers cherry picked various elements -- when you've published for more than 40 years there are all sorts of eras to choose from). Some shots even seemed modeled on specific issues. I just had a great time.
Some of these movies I like better than others (I also liked the Captain America movie last year). But I find it interesting that in many of these movies they actually do draw elements, story lines, etc. from the originals. Compare that movies based on TV shows (where the film makers often seem to disdain the source material) and it's quite a contrast.

Now excuse me while I go take a cold shower. 'cause this guy makes me feel like I'm looking at my PRINCE CHARMING JAMES BOND AGAIN. (yes Bond has been my prince charming since age 2... I've always had a thing for spies who are womanizers. Maybe that explains my love life
