I think Fiennes is too good for the the Bond franchise, and HP is good enough for him.

Sweeney: I just left a comment under your news section as well, after studying that picture closely 2nd time I've come to a bigger conclusion on what it looks like and agreed it doesn't fit at all.

The 1998 Godzilla was originally aimed for the spirit of the first Godzilla film before Roland Emmerich took over. Of course, the movie flopped critically. I think the reboot is leaning towards the direction the 1998 version did not. I don't know about you guys, but I actually like the American Big-G flick.

Woah this wasn't an expected comment to that pic on yahoo, what's this all about?

and also he looks good with a beard (reply to comment) But where is she?

This aint any of My business and I couldn't care less but what's that about?

Here's some other comments towards that pic

Wow looks fantastic NOT

why would fans get excited from seeing him sat next to a pool?

Looks like Blade Runner.

hey looks like Chuck Norris in the first photo

We think the new image is slightly much more exciting." Is this the sort of purple prose we can expect in the new film? Ye Gods!

James "Tidybeard" Bond....Hope he doesnt look like Noel bloody Edmonds!!

More like Mr blobby!

He should be holding a limp #$%$ not Walter's PPK (whatever that is). This franchise is terminally f''ucked and has been for years. No humour, no decent looking bimbos, pathetic plots, wooden acting, especially from Judi Dench as M(otherfooker). Better and much cheaper to keep repeating the old Bond films until everyone is word perfect........ Underneath the mango tree me............

Rubbish

A middle-aged Albert Steptoe, who went to the gym. " Harold ".

A beard? Really?

Evidently Gillette won't be one of the film's sponsors,

Method? Death by boredom?

I thought it was too good to be true.

On second thought the picture is very Cro-Magnon looking. Who the hell is in charge of this s**t? A child?
Out of literally dozen of stills this is the one they release? There has to be a better photo to use as a teaser. If the desired effect was to get people talking about Bond/Skyfall it has done it, except people are not talking about it in a positive light. I'm not sure the morons in charge understand what they have done.

Jesus these morons might manage to crash and burn the franchise in 2012.

Aye. The franchise is worse than dead. It's nothing but this:

Image

Its purpose is to infect not only to infect moviegoers but also the general public, which includes magazine companies and awards systems (especially those in the US).

Lol good use on My name dude  , at this rate even though I've got aspergers and I'm bad around crowds and people I'll take Creggs place  I dress smart like bond anyway except I'm not good with women and his character is.

Fbf: Maybe the reboot of godzilla will be good but they usually aren't, so I'll wait till I see a trailer.

These folks haven't start the production yet. I doubt it'll be an EVIL propaganda like DC's corrupted Bonds are. Like I said, this reboot is aiming towards the spirit of the early Big-G flicks (especially the first one), something Emmerich's version failed to do.

Hmm, I'll have to keep an eye on it then as long as it's like the originals and less like that other one then it's cool, like the planet of the apes with Walberg (d**n that film sucked), glad he's not gonna play drake in the uncharted film now as well, that roles for Nathan Fillon (guy who naughty dog based drake on from firefly).

Tbh yeah creggs films are terrible but I'm gonna wait till October, there's nothing any of us can do anyway, we know it looks bad and I don't really have as much time to worry about it as much anymore atm because of working on flash animations, work training and the rest and still looking for work, I feel this way about resident evil games fbf I hate what's happened to them now but there's nothing I can do, all I can hope is capcom go back to its roots someday same with the bond fims, it will happen count on it, question is when.

You can only change things up so much before people eventually get fed up and want the good old familiar stuff back and it will happen  .

That Apes flick with Wahlberg was dread awful Shaken, I agree. I avoid it on cable whenever I see it is on. That ridiculous ending was laughable too.

That was a great one Carl, made me laugh!

Now, as for stuff that does NOT make me laugh. OH MY GOD. That Craig photo. And an OFFICIAL photo at that. GOOD LORD!! It looks AWFUL! I am sorry Sweeney that you have to agree with us. And I'm sorry because I never really thought things would reach such a low  It's one thing to have a miscast actor, it's another to ALSO have hair and makeup do one awful job at making him look even WORSE and even LESS like James Bond than he already does. Man, this is just the lowest of the low. This movie really is starting to look as if it is WORSE than QoS. We said it, but I frankly hoped it would at worst be just as bad as QoS. Instead...

What the hell are they thinking? This is what I'd like to know. Do they even know that this is a character that has been described IN DETAIL by its creator and that said character also has a very precise style to be faithful to? Un-freaking-real. At least this guarantees they'll be done after this one. With these looks and what we've heard so far about the premise, there's no way they do well at the box office. I'm just so shocked I can't even begin to explain. My God.
I thought it was too good to be true.

On second thought the picture is very Cro-Magnon looking. Who the hell is in charge of this s**t? A child?

This is what I'm fearing at this point. At this rate they really might manage to crash and burn the franchise and I do NOT want that to happen.

BJ, I honestly don't think there's ANY way they go on with another one after this... this is seriously looking to be possibly the biggest NON James Bond flop EVER. The good news is Timothy Dalton will finally be seen like a WINNER after this is done.

The vibe from Skyfail, is Mendes is trying to make a modern "The Third Man" type spy movie. :( , Can't see that working.
