"Aside from Ghost Protocol, though most of Paramount's end-of-year releases were comparatively disappointing: Hugo ($48.6 million), The Adventures of Tintin ($43.9 million) and Young Adult ($11.3 million) failed to draw huge audiences."

" Golden Raspberry Awards founder John Wilson said that with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford headlining "Cowboys & Aliens," it's not difficult to see why Universal expected better returns on it. Of course, some stars apparently shine brighter than others."'Cowboys & Aliens' does have a couple of well-known actors," he said. "Harrison Ford and - I'm trying to remember the name of the guy that's James Bond." Meyer explained Wednesday that, for all the acting chops it had at its disposal, the oddities onscreen weren't pulling their weight. "All those little creatures bouncing around were crappy," Movieline quoted him as saying. Another review:"Cowboys and Aliens is totally a Titanic. Enormous, expensive, and seemingly humor-free, it’s the story of a haunted stranger (Daniel Craig), a pitiless sheriff (Harrison Ford), and the desolate Western town of Absolution. (Seriously, it’s called Absolution.) When freaking aliens fly down from outer space and start blowing things up, you might expect the movie to have some fun with the inherent silliness of the concept. But no: There is nothing silly about a bunch of dudes riding horses while being zapped by laser guns. Cowboys and Aliens takes itself very seriously. In that way, it’s a movie proudly in the tradition of previous Worst Picture nominees like Heaven’s Gate, Battlefield Earth, and Christopher Columbus: The Discovery. For much of the 1990s, Kevin Costner had a stranglehold on the Titanic, with The Bodyguard, Waterworld, and The Postman all receiving nominations." {FBF, a Razzie For DC? :cheers: What will Eon think now with Sony and MGM?}

Whilst waiting for my car to be serviced I read GQ magazine which boasted an article on DC. He is as dull in real life as he is on screen.
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.

I think we can safely say Girl with the Tattoo did better than a movie with the same actors and director not using a billion dollar Book franchise as a backdrop, here comes the other shoe, so far as I can tell the foreign BO is hardly making a dent. $200 million may be a pipedream, I'm pretty sure $300 million is. Sony is smoking some good stuff to ok another one if it'll cost the same.

MI 4 just beat all of the Bond movies $172,558,998 in the US. I do know this is not true since Thunderball and the other early Bonds are more adjusted for inflation.

THEY DID and their dearie favorite script writer (Haggis) that I personally think is one of the most overrated screen writers in Hollywood EVER had ON PURPOSE finished it BEFORE the strike AND he advertised that big time back then. It is absolutely untrue that he put his hands on it after and that was the result of the mess... go read what he said back then, he was done and dealt with the script BEFORE the strike started. So yeah nice try, Mr Craigster, but seen as screen writing is something I'm VERY much into and that I do, you can't tell me lies without me being aware of it, especially when a franchise I'm a fan of is involved.
So much BS gets thrown around from actors these days, its hard to know what is true and what is fake. Looking back at QoS, I remember hearing similar reports on the script already finishing before filming began too. Maybe they were actually lying back then, covering up the cracks and telling the world the script was completed, when in fact it wasn't, as it would have made investors very nervous, shooting a film with no script.

Who knows...
That is true Sweeney, you're right about that. It could be that they lied about having the script ready. What I know for certain is Haggis was shouting right and left that he had finished the script and they were all praising it. So like Dr No pointed out, at the very least they were being ridiculous about it IF it hadn't been finished. If it had been like they said, ridiculous anyway given how now Craig talks about the movie. But you do have a point, with all the BS thrown around from actors these days, it's always hard to know the truth.

I just think this is unprecedented in the franchise. Not even when Dalton left I heard such remarks, let alone from him. While QoS for me WAS possibly the worst Bond ever made, if I were the protagonist I'd A) absolutely avoid praising it to the high heavens knowing what the situation is... keep it as neutral as possible and B) I'd never, EVER say the things he's saying now. I appreciate the fact the fanboys now can't hide behind "oh it was great" because even DC himself is saying it was crap, but other than that, I don't think it's a wise idea on his part to say those things.

BJ, thanks for pointing out how (and completely unexpectedly since it doesn't have a "teen" public) Person of Interest won best new drama at the People Choice Awards. I was genuinely surprised, didn't think it would because the younger demographic votes... it's true though that it has a much wider public than the other shows in contention so I guess that also counted. Still, I'm glad that for once quality entertainment won even at the PCAs. Doesn't often happen.

Skywalker! :cheers:

One thing I do not get about him is he does these fake don't bother asking me about it's too personal kind of run around.
Last interview I read he points out his tattoos then said each are deeply personal even my wife doesn't know what they mean. It is not the only interview where he does something like it. I think you are right he has nothing in his personality that is interesting so he does a con job on the reporter giving the image he was something deeply personal/ meaningful to give him the illusion of depth when he is as shallow as a tide pool.

Pierce and Connery had things they would not talk about, some times it was the charity work they did, this Craig enigma claptrap is getting old. I forget he is even married for his recent comments and actions. What a selfish man he must be. Of course I have a dislike of him because of what he did to his girlfriend so I can't be objective about his personnel dealings. I don't like him as James Bond but was always willing to believe the best about his personal life.

Hoping it will crash just enough to get rid of Craig and get them ( Or Others )

I don't think there will be much demand for "An Evening With Daniel Craig" where he tour theatres with his one man show of anecdotes. :wink:

The new Bourne plot will see Renner and a host of new characters (Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton join the cast) apparently deal with the mess left by Jason Bourne in the original trilogy. DC's new wifey is getting involved in this genre. She too will fail. So far, poor reception on the internet for this flick. :down:

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are close to ending their aggressive apartment search. The Hollywood power couple, who have been scouring downtown for a new home after getting married in June, are set to buy a three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo at [deleted by mods]. The 4,350-square-foot apartment was listed at $11.5 million and taken off the market last week. {They actually divulge the building address. It's just off Canal Street near the Holland tunnel. I might have to walk by this spot when I am in Manhattan and see if I can spot the drone on the street. He won't be hard to miss.}

Looks like a DVD rental for Bourne 4 for me not because of Rachel but because of no Matt Damon.
