I'm little dubious of the Immortals production budget. For a independent release it did well although the numbers are a little disappointing, then the theater count was low in comparison too. Let see how this grows day to day that will be the true test.

Needless to say, now everyone's jumping on Henry's winning train... Yeah except there are those like me (and others who despite being Craig fans DID see Henry's potential even way back when Craig hadn't been yet cast as Bond, and said Henry would have been a perfect fit even back then) who've been following him for a VERY long time... and always wished he was given what he deserved: BIG leading man parts.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/i ... Stories%29

Meantime, $68 mln worldwide on opening weekend with a movie distributed by an independent company. Craig can only dream about that.

And, the forecast for the ENTIRE opening of the movie was $25 mln. That was the expectation. It did 2.5 times as much.
I thought Henry would be a great young Bond for Casino Royale too, although I can understand the views of those who thought it was a few years too early.

The only film i have watched him in is Whatever Works!
Bring back Bond!

It like saying Brosnan was too young. He wasn't. It might of been different with him in LTD & LTK however the mechanics and politics of EON along with the legal trouble about to start it all probably would have ground to a halt in 1989 anyways. The very important thing to remember is Brozza waiting in the wings to take center stage did a lot to get Bond back in 1995. Dalton was not coming back, the audience and investors didn't want him back. The investors were very keen on Brozza coming in revitalizing the series, however if he had the part in 1987 he might not be there to revitalize the franchise in 1995. I think this is going to be Cavill's legacy as well if the opportunity ever allows for his second chance at Bond. A good choice at first bat, a guy who should not have been benched but the guy we need for the bottom on the ninth.

I couldn't agree more. Perfect comparison, and Cavill's story better keep going exactly like Brosnan's one. Which means, he'll be taking over for Bond 24.

Re:Immortals. The production budget is $75 mln because they had major tax rebates. And, it's doing a LOT better than what the company itself expected. They expected a $25 mln global opening. It was $68 mln. Also, the numbers they had in the current economy and with the current down-trend on movie ticket sales are even more so impressive. That's what everyone has noted... That said of course it won't rake in as much as 300 did, but that was a different economy...

Daniel Craig who plays 007 in the spy film franchise, has revealed that Sir Sean Connery was the perfect James Bond as compared to Roger Moore.

Is he really taking a swing at Roger Moore?

BJ, let's celebrate, we're at 900 pages! (Despite the loss of various ones ) :martini:

Does Craig never and I mean EVER understand when it's time to shut the hell up OR ask a publicist for what the hell he's supposed to say!?? He NEVER knows how to say things appropriately. EVER. Constantly coming off as a jerk or as taking a swing at this or the other Bond actor. Because he can't put a nice, well-balanced sentence together apparently. And who's the idiot who conceived that first paragraph to the story? Not that one can expect decent writing from nobodies like yahoo, but seriously?! Daniel Craig HAS REVEALED that Sean Connery is the perfect Bond? As if anyone needed him to reveal anything in that sense? He hasn't revealed anything he has SAID something, you incompetent article writer.

Hi Kokopelli, I don't think I've crossed paths with you before on here and it looks like you're new, so welcome!

I didn't see any reference to Roger Moore in Craig's actual quotes, that seems to just be the spin that the Yahoo "journalist" chose to put on it.

I honestly didn't even bother because the first sentence made me fume for its ridiculous wording. LOL So on top of being an incompetent idiot writing the first sentence, the yahoo "journalist" also put stuff in Craig's mouth that wasn't actually there? Awesome! How do these people get a job? Craig being incapable of forming a nice coherent sentence about Bond remains a fact though. He just needs to understand he either needs to shut up or to ask a publicist before opening his trap.

900+ pages all because a rodent was chosen to replace Brosnan as Bond :!: The ticket sales for Twilight are AHEAD of Potter's last film but I don't believe it will have the loyal legs week by week that DH-2 did. Twilight surpassing DH-2 worldwide? Unlikely.

No surprise that we've gotten to 900 pages..I should think things will start heating up once we start getting some plot details for Skyfail...something we can make fun of! :happy spin:

My money's on Happy Feet 2 this weekend, and I hope DH2 maintained its position as the highest opening weekend grosser in the US for this year. Being a Potter loyalist, Twilight just makes me sick. Even Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) said this series is no match for Harry.

As for next year, it doesn't matter if DH2's opening weekend record got beaten by Twilight 4.5 or Bat 3. What matter most is that Skyf*ck becomes completely forgotten, especially here in the US.

That's true. Twilight 4.1 is going to win anyway, but I hope DH2's opening weekend US numbers remain the highest of 2011.

That's a quote I'd be inclined to agree with.

It already was, remember? And for a Bond movie, no less. LOL Well, not that that was an actual Bond movie seen it was a cluster of horrid but still.

I think that was yet another of the many mistakes this "journalist" made in his article, but I'd DEFINITELY agree with that, too.
