Best recent Press spokesman for the white house I'd say was Tony Snow, while he had a personal political POV he wasn't a party hack and what he are most about was his family and his religion. IMO the boarder crisis is going come back to bite democrats maybe for the next few elections.
We are a compassionate people and I for one don't mind if most of the immigrants stay but what Americans as a population resent is new comers being given a better deal than they get. It's what happened to my ancestors when they came to America the land of the free home of the brave only to be openly discriminated against for decades. Although back then the government wasn't giving away 20 thousand dollars each person just to start with,or giving them preferential treatment over people who came here legally. When we have children starving and in bad situations in our communities what he hell is the government doing throwing money at a population who are not citizens while their citizens cant get an education, a meal, healthcare, clothes, a leg up, or a chance to succeed. We have millions of people who need a helping hand here, while we are a rich country we also have a great many impoverish people especially in out inner cites and rural communities, also in the southern rural areas which most of america do not think about.

Rich reporters, politicians, and activist like to guilt trip us, and I for one do not want to send anybody back, but they need to recognize we are not all like their rich friends and we are not like those people TV shows and movies, we have a lot of people unemployed, underemployed, disabled, uneducated, we need to seriously do something for everybody in our country to give them a chance for the american dream too. Personally I believe it is cruel to throw a people escaping a bad situation in to a bad melting pot where they will not have a fair chance, but the activist don't see people here as needing help, they accept the situation they see in our streets with out thinking about it. I want to do something for everybody but churches and charities can only do so much.

BTW the belief legalizing a large number of illegals will suddenly make them tax payers is foolish, or make them buy obamacare to help it and other federal and state programs stay afloat. Some will obviously but just like there are people born here who will not participate they same will be fore he new immigrants so trying to sell them as a salvation for programs like social security is not historically accurate.
But the real reason for this is business and political parties think they found their new power base, which should alarm all of us that our need as a people can be so easily ignored to give preference to a new population who will not know enough to avoid being abused by the big business/government system.

BJ the border has never been secure in my lifetime. We know there are all kinds of bad actors crossing including Mexican gangs, foreign spies, terrorists,, but the story the american people are sold is it's children and day workers who want a better life. As a people we have been conditioned to knee jerk respond in a sympathetic manner.

IMO the dems have misread the american peoples attitude including the Hispanic community, as a people historically we get angry when our lives and our children's future are impacted for the worse, that is what is happening now. Most american understand Obama and the dems are spending 20 grand a person on people who do not belong here, to the wealthy activist its nothing and i'm sure they think more should be spent, to the average man it is a lot and they will IMO resent the government giving money away to people who are not citizens and relocating them to communities where people are already living day to day in bad conditions.

MY point is these bleedin g heart activists have turned a blind eye to the people in this country who are struggling to make it and that dumping people into these communities and/or giving resources to illegal immigrants will anger a lot of people across the spectrum. My anger is not at the people crossing it is at the government/political parties who care more about the potential new voters and fodder for the cogs of big business than their own citizens. Also the parties and business have encouraged this crisis for their own purposes ignoring the 330 million people who are already here.
Putting a few billion toward the people already here in the inner city or rural communities would help a lot of people, but that money will never be spent on them.

Basically I'm saying IMO in the short term democrats have over played their hand and will pay the price this year and maybe in 2016. peoples personal situations from finances to their heathcare monkeyed around with on top of government throwing money around and Obama over using executive orders IMO it all adds up to dissatisfaction with the powers in charge now.

Of course the dems hope in the long term to entrap a generation or two of new voters biased on their ethnicity, it's worked for them in the past, but I'm not so sure this will play out like either party expect.

I do think it will be the next president who will get immigration reform done, IMO it will have to be a secure the boarder first along with a path way to legalization kind of deal. This current crisis has demonstrated the boarder is so poorly controlled it makes it dangerous. Despite whatever our sympathies as a population might be.
