The franchise currently IS a stinker with the big stench Cr-egg at the helm EA. Bond 23 will tank and Brocolli will be gone.

So Daniel will receive $13 million US Dollars? I believe that is near what Pierce earned for his 3rd. I do think the Dream House people were taken for a ride.

I don't know where she will go aside from stay home cashing her checks. Then again nobody thought Harry Saltzman would sell his half of the franchise after TMWGG.

The film is going to need to be exceptional on all accounts, to rid the bad taste of QOS from the publics memory.
Whatever happened to the reports that Javier Baddem had been approached for the film?

Good script, good characters, well directed and edited action sequences, and an excellent film score, is all thats needed for Bond 23!

Not too much to ask for!

Javier Bardem could be in the running, I believe his new series was delayed because of finances until next year. Fiennes along with having the stigma of being Harry Potter's arch nemesis has the unfortunate trait of looking like James Bond is supposed to look like. It would be too confusing for the audience. ;)

I've read several reviews and comments this week that Marc Forster wanted QOS to be confusing and a sort of arthouse type picture
............but what he forgot was to make the picture watchable for the world wide audience to follow.
There are some directors and editors who make a film to suit their ego's, with the fancy tricks they learnt at film school, but they forget who they are making the film for.

Someone who commented on the car chase at the beginning of QOS siad they wanted to see the car chase from a distance so you could follow what was going on, such as in 'Bullitt', but instead we got lots of close up shots of car doors, gearknobs and an array of miscellaneous shots.

If Bond 23 is a stinker, then the franchise will be seriously damaged!

EA
The weird part is everyone involved wanted Marc Forster to come back for Bond 23  I do think the editing was a big problem for QOS however the story and acting were rubbish as well. Some very painful cringe inducing scenes in QOS, I hope the public forgives, I do wonder if it is too much to ask them to see anther with Daniel after this long a break. Althou Pierce and Sean I think it wouldn't matter how bad their last film was the audience seem to love them despite weak offerings.

Bond can stand a total flop if Bond 23 is QOS II.It's not the Moore era they can't keep turning out flop after flop hoping to finally find the sweet spot on the ball.Bond has to get on tack for Bond 24 or else.Craig is part of the problem but he didn't hire himself he is the symptom of mismanagement. The sooner he retires and takes Broccolie with him the better.

It's the last goodbye to the young wizard, and there should be no reason why his last journey will not be this year's top grosser, especially here in the US. The finale deserves that title, and it has to surpass Sorcerer's Stone's numbers (both here and the overseas). This year (especially summer) is all about Potter and NOTHING more.

Take anything you read in the papers about Bond with a pinch of salt. A lot of the tabloid reports are merely hearsay. And of couse if Bond 23 tanks big time, there may not even be two more Bond films!
Bond 23 has to make a profit first another QOS and there will be no point to another for investors. Anyways whoever said two more is talking out of their arse, Craig is contracted for a total of four, it was a former MGM head who misspoke (surprise, surprise!) by saying Craig contract was extended for a total five films. This was right after CR when Craig threatened to quit to get a better contract. Craig will get £8 m for Bond 23 (he also gets percentage of the gross and merchandising), a fourth film with commensurate salary would difficult even under contract, doubly so if Bond is still struggling to eke out a profit..
The "two more" is total BS like you said. He can do maximum four, and he won't even do those most likely seen as according to those who are in the know (and talk to him) he only wants to do three. On top of that, given how Bond 23 is shaping up to be, I doubt he'll have a fourth one regardless. Let's just pray it doesn't leave us without a franchise.
Danny Boy could make more outside of Bond if his next movies do not flop;

Code: Select all

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo : $6,000,000
Dream House : $5,000,000
Cowboys & Aliens : $6,000,000

As they say work smarter not harder, Bond traditionally takes 8 months of the lead actors time and is physically exhausting. Craig has complained bitterly about how bruised up he gets and how much he hurts after each film. I can't see him do many more even if they can afford to keep him on, Bond is job for someone with a passion, Danno's passion was himself and his career not Bond which he never particularly liked, Cirag's fortune is made so the hunger to torture himself with these kind of jobs will fade as well. I think if Quark hadn't been such a dog he would be happy to leave now, however he wants to appear a success by outlasting Lazenby and Dalton, both of whom are better men and better Bonds.
I don't think anyone in the business will EVER buy him as a better Bond than either Lazenby or Dalton (other than Barbara of course), but he may be perceived like that by some of the public, which alone is disgraceful. Look, I was looking at a photo of Richard Armitage earlier seen as my brother wanted to see all those cast for "The Hobbit" and I HAD to think that even HE would be a far better Bond than Craig. At this point, it's just humiliating to think HOW MANY out there would be far better than him and fit the requirements. They may still not be perfect (only Cavill would be perfect in my opinion) but they would still be WAY better than him (and no this does NOT include gingerhead Fassbender  ). It's just laughable at this point. Btw I have a friend in India and he said all this stuff about Bond there is BS, as he's seen/heard precious nothing and he is in the area where they are supposedly scouting/setting up filming. No idea what to think at this point, but I sure trust him more than a random person on internet forum. Still, he may not have all the information and this dude who said they were doing things may instead be very well-informed. Just saying, I'm taking it all with a HUGE grain of salt.

The reign of Babs may finally be over if he DID actually get married to Weisz secretly! We may have to thank her after all... no way she'd accept Babs's paws over her husband, so it could be interesting from now on

btw, the owner of accidentalsexiness.com is a friend of mine and she, too, cannot stand the idea of Bond being played by Craig. And of course she too wants Henry Cavill to take over the role.

And... my friend just told me the news has been confirmed. They have INDEED gotten married. So of course congratulations to Craig and Weisz. AND congratulations to us too hopefully... Babs can't have him as her toy boy anymore

Even if India is a lock that still leaves these questions: Where's the script? Where are the costars?

It's nice to say "we are making a movie India", but how are you going to do that when you have no script and no actors?

All these rumors about Bond 23: "Ooooo Rachel Weisz is going to be in it...wait I mean Anthony Hopkins...wait I mean Javier Bardem...wait I mean Ralph Fiennes...wait I mean Naomi Harris...", it's gone past being absurd. "It's going to be filmed South Africa, no it's going to be filmed in India.", for goodness sake.

At this point, I say film it space. Call it Moonraker II. Cast Kevin Smith to play Hugo Drax Jr, and Dirk Nowitzki to play Jaws and Dolly's love-child.

If Bond 23 is successful at the box office (beating both CR's and QOS's numbers, especially here in the US) or if it gets even a single nomination from the Oscars, then we shall carry out a contingency plan by campaigning Carrot Top to be the next James Bond once DC retires.

Now that's James Bond right there.

Rachel has made 'Danielle' the repugnant step-daddy of her 4 year old child? Does she have walnuts for brains  ? How any woman could think this ill-gotten drone could properly raise her child is beyond belief :fight:! No more of Brocolli's boobs all over a drunken boob 'Danielle' at parties I guess. I would love to see the English Agent interview Rachel about this matter. :nukes:

The question is was Babs invited. Was she at least aware of it. I'd love to have her implode over things but that is wishful thinking. She does have an awfully queer relationship with Craig, which does not have to be Craig's fault entirely. It was however one of the weirder "business" relationship in the biz, will this change in Danno's relationship status mean anything. Very hard to say, I'd still guess not.

Best wishes for the happy couple, obviously Craig is in a financially secure position for the first time in his life and looking for a long term partnership is reasonable and admirable. Sincere best wishes one person to another, however as a Bond fan I still wish you well, and far away from Bond.

Depends, £8m in 2007 when the contract was singed is $16m USD. Sometimes studios use £ over $ to keep the amounts looking small.

Craig and Weisz getting married seems to be official, seen it in the newspapers and on the BBC website.

Do u think this will endear Craig to some of u now....as he may smile more, being a happily married man?...No didnt think so

Surely we must get some news on Bond 23 soon....iam not sure that India thing is 100%, we had heard earlier that there was location scouting in South Africa...............but both could be true as Bond films usually hop across several countries in a film.

I dont know why there has to be so much secrecy surrounding a James Bond film plot, and that absolutely no info is given out to the media..... well in the case of QOS there wasnt a plot to leak anyway
