Pierce would not have considered it. Someone had said the Eon leadership exists in a bubble after this stunt I am more convinced.

We do post approval as well, normally just for new signups the first 3 posts to make sure they are a real person not a bot and we have a few others that were trolling so they need to have their posts approved. Althou the trolls did enough to be banned, we decided not to ban for a lot of reasons if they amended their ways we could move them back to a regular member.

I think the MGM marketing people saw the opportunity when she decided to do this and probably even encouraged her. They knew what the reaction was going to be and this is exactly what they need. People finally turning on her not only inside EON (that's happening already), but in the general public, too. Deadline.com is a general website, not a Bond site, and the answers there have been clear, just to mention one. I'm just having the devious smile one gets when they see what they have been told unfolding... the war is only at the beginning. We'll see what this brings for Bond 23 though I think MGM is already focused on Bond 24... they know 23 is a lost cause since it's Craig anyway and they gave up the right to debate strongly when they wanted the movie released quickly at all costs because they're desperate for turnover. So, we'll see the real thing after Bond 23, but it should be interesting to watch events unfold anyway... this is the first big event after what we mentioned a few weeks ago about Babs and MGM. Onto the next
If Babs screws up Bond 23 so much it will not be ready in time then I think anything can happen although MGM publicly committed to trying make Bond 23 with Babs pool boy. If complications arise it isn't all that difficult to walk it back.

Universal tuned down a 150m Tom Cruise movie because they doubted it would make the 500m needed to break even. MGM and their partners will be looking at Bond 23 the same way, but in Bond's case even if it does break 500m with a similar production + P&R cost the studio still doesn't make money.

   CommanderPravda.net is just hilarious  Well, EON is obviously making them work overtime in the absolutely VAIN attempt to make this ridiculous ad right. Reaction has been negative in the vast majority of cases... but of course instead of admitting a misstep and fixing it, they snap fingers to have their fanboy servants react appropriately... and keep on posting how great it is, on ONE site, which is the most laughable thing. Not only CBn, but EON is looking pretty d**n pathetic, too.
Congratulations on your promotion to the rank of Carey Lowell! I just now noticed.

You're right, EON looks ridiculous. It's regrettable that it took this long for the mainstream to finally understand. Apparently four hours of excrement on celluloid (i.e. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) was not enough for people to get it; one would think that would be enough. Nevertheless, thank goodness for this silly two-minute PSA that is serving as a catalyst to wake up many people.

Benny=Nash had no response to my post back to him at MI6. At CBnet, they REFUSED to post my 2 new responses YET they allow others to attack what I said. MP, and to the rest here that endured those 2 trash sites with elitist Eon shills calling their every move, we have been vindicated and proven correct. As Charles Vine agrees, enough is enough!

More from m16

The problem is that this ad tells us very clearly where EON want Bond to head toward. They've just made a huge gift to pro-feminist crowds and associations that Bond has changed. They're not going to flip-flop on the stand they've made with this ad. There's no going back now. Perhaps the innuendoes can return, but it would mean the female characters will always have the last say on Bond, thus wussifying him even more. It's a vicious circle EON has made with this ad.

I agree completely that Babs is the greater culprit here, and that as long as she's calling the shots cinematic Bond will be in grave peril. I do wonder about Craig's motivations for doing this, however. Is he really onboard with the Rad-Fem agenda? I don't know. Craig has never struck me as a terribly political guy, although I could be wrong. His participation in this travesty could be a case of him trying to curry favor with all the hyper-PC A-listers in Hollywood. You know dashed well that every Brian DePalma, George Clooney and Susan Sarandon has been jingling his cell telling him what a "courageous" and "groundbreaking" thing he's done. Craig must be in a veritable tizzy of self-adulation.

That part of the character has taken a big hit with this ad. The feminist crowds are loving this stand EON's took - making Bond a symbol of the gender equalities cause. The ad itself - Bond in drags - will not much repercussion on the franchise. But the stand - Bond as symbol of gender equality - will have a huge impact on the future of the franchise. Now that Babs has finally made her marks, all the PC-feminist crowd - the one you people have always will not permit Bond to smoke, arse-slap girls and whatnot - , well with the stand EON's just made, they are going to unleash this ad on the medias, showing that in 2011, EON made Bond a symbol of feminism, thus he can't make any anti-feminist comments anymore. The ad may be forgotten, but the feminist crowds and associations will never forget the EON stand on the issue

Even creggs witicisms are being torn apart now and how m treats bond like a kid and maybe some people are looking at brosnan in a better light from this quote

Christ 'O Mighty...

Where's the irony or implicit double meaning in these, praytell? That's what the best one liners had. i.e. Collars and cuffs.

Bring back Tom Mankiewicz.

zoo360 wrote:

That wasn't sexual innuendo, that was just plain wrong. If she had just been born, that'd make Bond a pae... yeah, well let's just not go there. Bond in drag now doesn't seen so bad.

Which makes me start to wonder - who's the most wussified Bond? Brosnan, for acting like a wuss, or Craig, for being treated as a wuss ? ( Don't agree about brosnan being a wuss but craig one means a lot since this guys a craig fan).

Indeed a contrast to her telling Bond to pump a woman for information.

Carls description of the people over at Commander Bond as A$$holes is too perfect.

I hate to say it, but I really hope everyone involved has a hard time getting a job after this .

Another plus from m16

bloody "womyn" subverting our masculine icons!

what next Duke Nukem in a dress holding a "ban the strip club" banner?

they will be trying to blowtourch our Wedding vegetables soon.

"Her face, your ass, whats the difference?, i Snog her face and i stick my boot up youre f-king ass!" (the Duke)

Now THAT is a Man, and once, back when Connery was playing him, Bond was also a Man, now hes just a politically correct Cissy, an equal rights warrior who might as well trade his kilt in for a skirt!

you want to do womens rights properly?. look back on On her Majestys secret service, at Tracy, Tough, resourcefull, intellegent, sensative, feminine, neither submissive or Opressive. thats how you do it, tough, yet likeable, without weakening the Male charachters, or making the woman overly strong.

NOLF's Cate Archer did the same trick. tough, resourcefull, intellegent, sensative, femenine, ocassionaly even emotionally vulnerable at times ("death" of "tom", "death" of bruno lawrie, capture of dr shenker (nolf 2) etc.) tough yet still a woman.

now, that is how to do female equality, it would have been MUCH better to ressurect Cate for international womans day instead of emasculating Bond in the cruellest, harshest, most INHUMANE way Barbara Brocolli could cook up in her perverted brain.

Ian Fleming, a man with a very "macho" view on life and a STRONG sense of traditional english values is doubtless now spinning in his grave so fast that you could use him as a bloody Generator. i dont think Cubby and Harry Saltsman are many spins behind him either.

I remember the day Craig was cast because Cbn had a thread called Stuff Daniel Craig which was quite popular. They locked it after about 20 pages and had no further tolerance for anyone who didn't follow the party line. I thought it was pretty pathetic the way they only started having a go at BJ after he'd been stopped from posting and couldn't respond! I'd say Cbn is far worse than MI6 these days.

Commander Pravda must have got a memo from EON the day Craig was hired saying that criticism of Craig would not be tolerated.

Pathetic, juvenile, deliberately intolerant, and delusional all are adjectives to describe that dreadful forum. I still cannot respond there. They won't post my replies. I say we send Katied, FBF, and Steven Seagal there to clean house once and for all!

BJMDDS,

I went on to CommanderPravda.net to see your recent comments on the Danielle Craig PSA. I thought your comments were great, but apparently many on CommanderPravda did not. I grew tired of the Craigski's gaining up on you, so for the first time I joined CommanderPravda.net. I've already posted a few times, and in doing so I offered opinions that differ greatly from the manufactured message. We will see what happens.

Ah, figured you guys would be lapping over the PSA. Thought I'd check in.

My thoughts? I get the approach and I admire it to an extent. Bond being put in the position of an oppressed female. It's a good concept. But I think literally putting him in a drag is too much just for causing a stir. Instead of getting the message across the Bond-in-drag image is distracting. More thought should have been put to this.

I applaud EON and Craig for supporting a cause, but the way they do it simply won't sit well with hardcore Bond fans.

Do I think this will ruin the rest of Craig's tenure? I don't think it will as this isn't likely to happen in the actual films because it's those that matter the most, not two minute promos. Time will tell I suppose.

I know many here believe and hope it will ruin Craig. Afterall, it is DCINB. :P

And Katied. Really? Everyone involved with the ad should no longer get a job? That's despicable behavior, wishing people such ill will. There's no need to take this so personally. I don't like Two and a Half Men at all but I feel sorry for everyone involved no longer having a job because of Charlie Sheen's antics.

That goes for a lot of Bond fans out there who claim to be personally insulted. Yeah, I don't dig how EON did it but this is a fictional character we're talking about, not some religious figure. I suppose that's not a surprise from fanboys. Look at the Star Wars/Avatar geeks. Even more disturbing than Craig in a dress.

Though I must admit, Craig does look FABULOUS in that frock.

Anyway, that's all I've got to say on the matter. Peace.
