Licence To Kill was more relevant than Spectre and that was 28 years ago. Pablo Escobar, the vicious Colombian drug lord was impressed with the villain's accuracy in LTK. There is an interview with Robert Davi about that. And he got to meet Escobar.

Welcome to this thread D'-ex :!: :yay: This thread will NOW have a lot more political relevance given the statements of the Broccoli writers. They are clueless as to how to proceed with a script. If they include anything Trump related, and they portray it in a bad light, they will turn off 30 states in the USA from seeing such a film. Broccoli's emasculation of Cr-egg was blown up with this election result so she will have to proceed less arrogantly in her further dismantlement of her daddy's franchise.

Much appreciated bjmdds. I live in London and today we had anti-Trump protests. The liberals cannot handle democracy. It is getting crazy.

They probably will make Trump the villain as he is the Bond villain for the Hollywood elites.

Bill O'reilly tonight did a segment on what we have been discussing here today and he said he thinks the 46% of the USA that voted for Trump (48% vote for the witch) is FED UP now with all of these protests and outrageous Hollywood statements and will now BOYCOTT the film industry which will hurt the box office even more in 2017 :!: It will be nice to hear about London's activities and compare it to what goes on here politically.........The SAG awards drew less than 4 million viewers on TBS and TNT networks combined! Nobody watches these morons any longer. The Oscars are next and we will see what the ratings produce with the idiot Jimmy Kimmel hosting it.

Used to be we would go to Tijuana(I live in San Diego) and no problem-safe as houses and the food was good-it was where high schoolers from San Diego would go when I was in high school and it was getting dicey then.. but certain areas of Mexico..have always been no go zones -why would you want to go there as picturesque as it is.

In 2008 my parents and I went to Mexico(Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.) not long after that Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta were taken off the itinerary for quite a while. They're back now, though.

I'm bummed Peter Capald is leaving Doctor Who. Really liked his Doctor, rather hoped he stay around for a Tom Baker epic run. Rating last series were not great, plenty of reasons for it moving the time and Valeyard wannbe story arc to speak a few, hope they are not the reason he is departing. Also hope they do not believe the next Doctor need to be cast young, personally I believe we learn more about the Doctor with older actors not doing the action hero stick.

I am always worried about eating food in Mexico. I knew a girl who literally got so sick she keeled over eating in Mexico. The bottled water industry should do well there.

Mexico is a beautiful country, scandalous producers used a Bond movie to blackmail the Mexican Government for a "tax break".
We hear so much about gang violence in Mexico, seems the honest government officials who want to fight for justice are hunted down. Whatever created this condition it did not happen in vacuum, the market for the drugs helps feed the problems, not to forgive corrupt government officials turning a blind eye for a taste of the action. I think there is quite a concerted effort to clean up so many of these popular destinations. The locals definitely deserve our support via tourism.

Strange to miss the good ol' days where EON was shaken down by Panamanian gangs on the set of Quantum of Something. Held up production for a few days, then melted away for no reason as no "protection money was paid" and the incidence "never happened". Riiight.

It is obvious that Hollywood scorns the massive Number of people who voted for Trump. And our media in the UK follows the narrative of the liberal left. Everything is presented from the liberal perspective.

My wife who is Colombian was also fed the narrative that Trump hates Latinos. Once I explained that he is not responsible for the political and economic issues in her country, and that her favourite past Colombian president Alvaro Uribe is demonised in the US media for being like Trump, she began to open her eyes.

Uribe the former Colombian president put his country's interests first. And he was tough against the communist rebel group Las Farc. The new Colombian president Santos is a weakling who serves the interests of foreign powers.

In a nutshell, the focus on Trump in Latin America is a misdirection to take the publics attention away from the injustices their politicians are doing. Where has the money from their oil, gold and other minerals gone? Did Trump do this?

Once she saw Trump is similar to her favourite past Colombian president, she cheered when Trump won. She also likes his tough stance on ISIS.

It is sad that the people of Mexico suffer the consequences of the drug wars and political corruption. I spent a lot of time in Colombia and our liberal media just want to paint a picture of roses. If you go to a famous tourist spot, you are shielded from the reality.

I think the worst thing to hit Latin America is the destructiveness of the cocaine trade. Still as strong as ever in Colombia. Licence To Kill did a great job of highlighting how clever these cartels are.

But Spectre really hit the nail on the head with the surveillance cameras being an issue of paramount importance. That was like saying ice is cold! Half the world is on fire, and they are talking about a drizzle.

And talking of Bond being able to fit within any culture, Dalton fits the Latin American setting brilliantly. Craggers is not the man I would send for that assignment. He would stand out in the wrong way. A spy has to blend in and be attractive enough to infiltrate.

With the world in a rebirth of populism, with Merkel in Germany and Trudeau in Canada getting ready to be removed from office, Broccoli might have to go 'Moonraker' on her next script to avoid the tumult going on and do a film with Bond in outer space again, which I personally would LOVE to see, without the 'egg-head in the role of course.

Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks killed himself in front of his wife, police reports released Wednesday show.

The 69-year-old Trucks shot himself in the head Jan. 27 at his home, the West Palm Beach police reports show.

Babs would sooner kill the franchise then let Craggers go. He is the most gorgeous man in the world according to her. Amazing deduction that she has seen all 3 billion men in the world. Perhaps Babs wears contact lenses that alter reality???

She might want Cr-egg for the 60th anniversary film in 2022 :!:   :cuss: That would mean only 1 film in 2019 and then again in 2022, when the ogre would be 54.

A story:When I was about 10 my family and I went to Ensenada for a several day vacation. Southern California is very desert-like and it continues into Mexico. Long hot car ride, so I was thirsty when I got where we were going. I went into the bathroom to get a drink of water and my mom caught me just as the water glass was at my lips and more or less knocked it out of my hand. Not sure what we did when it came to drinks-soda,probably(though it was the kind-with real sugar-that was made in Mexico and was somehow OK-filtered, at a guess)

The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

In those old black and white movies everyone in California would drive to
Mexico for a vacation at a giant housienda. Oh it's raining well Mexico it is! Better houses and better people from the way it was on tv and movies .

I wouldn't drink the water anywhere in the world. Next state over/wherever. Get bottled/purified where ever it's available. The reason Vikings drank so much bear is it was easier than finding clean water.

Never been to Mexico I was near the boarder a couple of times, what a godforsaken strip of land, and I'm talking about Texas. I like the desert but not that forsaken spit of land. Some places in the Middle East have that same off putting feel. Like something is wrong.
Not talking about Mexico just theUS boarder Texas ,NM area.
The Baja races look awesome. Nicer desert
