It's been 15 years now since we had a real Bond film
Time passed quickly and we still have the ogre in the roll

d**n right!
Funny how so many talk about bond going back to his roots, and this version of eon and bond never do.
IMO goldeneye and TLD were good examples of going back to his roots . CR was a toned down film but not back to bonds roots.
A few other good blogs about bond there as well not dirty benny good but nobody is that good.

Thank you my friend! It's comments like this that make it all worthwhile. Sorry there has been a dearth of new rants but real life supersedes "reel" life.
As to the article it's nice to know there are others out there who feel as we do and we are not an island unto ourselves (though I suspect this individual is a member here or at least lurks).

The Golden Globes tarnished it's relevancy again last night embarrassing themselves with their political statements while giving awards to trash films that nobody even went to see!
These morons in show business STILL don't get it!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I saw SP in full today. What can I say? Well, that Day of the Dead parade was cool to look at.
Erm...I appreciate some of the tries to bring the humor back even if they didn't work out at all due to humor not exactly being Craig's greatest strength.
For example when Craig steals the car(which has those laughable buttons inside) and leaves the champagne. Or the part with music for 009.
Or when he orders vodka martini and the bartender says they don't serve alcohol and he replies "I'm really starting to love this place."
Or when he says he parked the car at the bottom of Tiber. Didn't really make me laugh, still I think it would be far more funny and amusing if someone who actually could do humor said it.
But I can aknowledge the potential.(p.s. I can also give a plus to the moment when Craig says which car is coming in their direction from afar ). That's as far as non-dismal stuff goes.
The movie lasts almost two and a half hours and yet it feels like freaking five hours at least. Absolutely everything feels like such a bore.
One does not even get excited when the Bond theme kicks in.
All that stuff about that nine eyes program or whatever is just killing time because at the core of this movie there is absolutely nothing.
There is only desperation to somewhat connect all of the previous Craig movies even though it makes sense as much as hiring Craig to play James Bond.
And I guess they thought making Blofeld Craig's brother meant something deep but it just made everyone who thought that would be a good idea look like complete idiots(they are).
Monica Bellucci looks older than she actually is here and she also seems tired. She's in the movie for two minutes at best. Her role consists of the unsexiest "sex" scene ever filmed and her delivery is wooden. Craig's delivery of "Bond.James Bond." line is so slow one thinks someone rufied him.
Lea Seydoux is a talented actress and it's a shame she got the role of a tag along Bond girl. She also has no chemistry with Craig(but I'm still struggling to see why Eva and Craig were superior to this match like so many claim).
Q is scrawny and nerdy. He even has two cats to feed as he himself says. Some parts of the movie are so ridiculous(in this gritty reboot no less!!) like that car advert...erm,sorry I meant chase.
Bond escaping Blofeld base I guess that was a homage to Goldeneye the game on the lowest difficulty.
C's death is so stupid I actually thought it would be revealed as M's dream.
Speaking of M,Finnes' boredom with all this is all too appearant. The less said about all that assassin talk,MI6 building still not being fixed(I would guess that's some kind of Mendes' reflection on today's society because that's his schtick), Craig not killing Franz, saying he has better things to do and then going off with Swann hand in hand-the better.
Craig looks even more bored than the audience in this film. It's obvious he is well past this whole thing. Let's hope. In the end the only genuinely funny thing was when during the torture scene Franz says:"I'm sorry James,I can't hear you." That's the only time when Waltz's wannabe campy performance comes off as that.
The opening titles are bizzare and quite honestly revolting. The song is even more unbearable when you watch the credits. Then again it's perfectly in line with this movie.

Went to a play at the Bristol Old Vic on Saturday, and when reading more about the history of the place (it's Britain's oldest continuously working theatre, having recently celebrated its 250th birthday), I found that Caroline Bliss, Samantha Bond and Naomie Harris are all graduates of its prestigious theatre school. Bristol: producing Moneypennys for 30 years!

You said it FBF
These self-indulgent Hollywood punks giving each other awards and thinking they are more important than the rest of us is pathetic to watch! They had Brosnan there last night.

Carrie Fisher's death certificate was released on Friday, giving only a partial explanation for why the Hollywood icon died last month. In the official document obtained by ET, the cause of death is listed as "cardiac arrest/deferred," which could indicate that while it has been determined that Fisher suffered a massive heart attack, "more tests" may be needed to determine the "cause" of the attack............Debbie Reynolds' died from a fatal stroke after a blood vessel burst in her brain, according to the official death certificate obtained by TMZ on Monday. The certificate details the "Singin' in the Rain" star's cause as death as an intracerebral hemorrhage (meaning a stroke) and cites hypertension (abnormally high blood pressure) as an underlying cause.

FBF, can you recover pleasant childhood memories over time, given what Cr-egg has done to your psyche? 'KONG: SKULL ISLAND' (MAR. 10)
King Kong is being rebooted yet again. However, the big selling point this time is that "Kong: Skull Island" is a contemporary story that takes place in the same universe as 2014's "Godzilla." Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and Oscar-winner Brie Larson star as members of a military expedition to the island, one that will predictably go wrong as soon as they run afoul of its oversized protector. If all goes according to plan, this reboot will pave the way for 2020's "Godzilla vs. King Kong."

'KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE' (OCT. 6)
It might be a while until the next "James Bond" movie rolls around. Luckily, we have a "Kingsman" sequel to quench our thirst for more suave spy drama. Both director Matthew Vaughn and star Taron Egerton are back, with Egerton's spy hero Eggsy going up against criminal mastermind Poppy (Julianne Moore). Even Colin Firth's Harry Hart will return, despite having died in the first film. We're interested to see how they work around that.

'THOR: RAGNAROK' (NOV. 3)
If you loved the Thor/Hulk team-up in 2012's "The Avengers," then Marvel has just the superhero sequel for you. Though a direct follow-up to the previous two "Thor" films, "Ragnarok" is more a buddy road trip movie as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) find themselves trapped on an alien world and forced to battle in the gladiator arena. There will be plenty of Asgardian drama, though, with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) stirring up trouble, again, and Cate Blanchett making her debut as Hela, queen of the underworld.

'STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII' (DEC. 15)
2016 was all about "Rogue One," but 2017 returns to the main "Star Wars" saga as we continue where "The Force Awakens" left off. Little is really known about this sequel (not even the official title), but we do know that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will play a bigger role as he begins training Rey (Daisy Ridley) in the ways of the Jedi.
Villains like Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) return as the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order continues, as Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast.
