Seems a bit petty of NBC to deny them the use of the name. It's not as if people are likely to confuse 30-year-old reruns on an oldies channel with the new episodes.

Ronda Rousey will continue her bid at becoming a major player in Hollywood by reportedly reprising the role originally played by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 flick “Road House.”

No Escape rounded out Tuesday's top five with $0.530 million. The action thriller starring Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan and Lake Bell was down 65.5 percent from Monday and down 46 percent from last Tuesday. No Escape has grossed $20.54 million in two weeks, which places it 8 percent ahead of the $18.94 million two-week take of last year's The November Man.

On Outnumbered on the Fox News Channel, a panel of 4 women and 1 man decried what is being done to James Bond and they are totally against it, calling it the feminization of the character. The 4 women panelists all desire Bond to be the "Connery" style character they have admired and not this PC incarnation who is pushed around by women............Horowitz tells NPR's Robert Siegel how he tackled a modern Bond storytelling challenge: What was cool in the 1950s and '60s, when Fleming published his books, can seem geriatric today. On writing Pussy Galore into the new novel, and how he approached the storyline of Bond seducing a lesbian character. That was one of the dangerous areas, if you like, that I had to be very, very careful about ... because to suggest for a minute that Pussy Galore was a sort of a gay woman who could somehow ... be cured by her first relationship with a heterosexual man would, I think, be deeply, deeply offensive today. And of course it's not something which I consider to be even remotely true at all. And so in the book, in dealing with her, I had to take that on board and very carefully referenced her upbringing, but then gave the whole story a twist that I think gives it almost, dare I say it, a feminist edge — certainly a modern one. ... [Not only] is she a strong character, but at the end of the day she is a very independent character. And without wishing to give away too much of the story, you know, what she does to Bond — the way she reacts to him and the way their relationship develops and even ends — is, I think, a learning curve for him. http://www.npr.org/2015/09/09/438841436 ... st-century http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... y-out.html

Bond author Anthony Horowitz has announced 007 will have an "outspoken" gay friend in Trigger Mortis, the newest Bond novel.

Trigger Mortis is set in 1957, but Horowitz has still tried to modernise the secret agent's attitude.

"The book is true to the character and keeps him as fans would want him, which is as the original hard-bitten guy," Horowitz said.

"But then it always challenges and nudges and says 'well wait a minute'.

"I ... gave him a very outspoken gay friend, who chides him and says, 'Come on Bond, you're living in the 20th century now not the Middle Ages.'"

Star Wars: Aftermath, written by author Chuck Wendig, introduces fans to a new character, the Imperial turncoat Sinjir Rath Velus.

While there have been other LGBT characters in the Star Wars universe, this will be the first time the character has been a major hero, a small step forward that is long overdue.

"You're starting to see it more, obviously, in the larger narrative properties," Wendig said to Entertainment Weekly.

"Comics are just starting to figure out that that [LGBT men and women] exist in the world, and you can include and incorporate them in stories and speak to those people, and speak to audiences who may not have been spoken to before."

Sinjir is an AWOL Imperial loyalty officer who finds himself siding with the forces of the Rebellion after witnessing the horror of the Battle of Endor.

The issue of what life is like for gay men and women in the Empire is also touched on and is a theme Wendig has hinted he will explore in more depth in future novels.         He is currently signed on to write two more for the franchise.

An outspoken gay man in 1957 would be in prison, since homosexuality was still illegal in Britain then. My mum worked in a department store in the '50s, and she said there were two male floor managers there that everyone knew were a couple. People were a bit more relaxed about it than you might imagine, but if they'd come right out and said so, there probably would have been...consequences. The attitude back then was strictly "don't ask, don't tell".

Zack Snyder confirms more Batman than Superman in Batman v Superman

While promoting the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl ad contest, director and DC Extended Universe godfather Zack Snyder confirmed to The Daily Beast recent rumors that Batman v Superman will emphasize the Dark Knight over the Man of Steel. However, it sounds like that was the grand design from the get-go, which lines up with what we’ve been hearing down the line from various sources.

“Only in that because it’s a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do—and you just had a whole Superman movie,” confirmed Snyder. “But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that’s more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on.” (I said from day one this film will be a disaster and now we know that Affleck will be the star in a 'supposed' Cavill Superman sequel :!:   :cuss: ) Image How anyone can take this clown seriously as a superhero is beyond belief :!: http://cdn3-www.comingsoon.net/assets/u ... 4vncbm.jpg

According to Entertainment Weekly, Momoa discussed how his character is constantly being derided during Fan Expo Canada, where he cautioned fans to withhold their insults until after the film.

“It’s cute and funny. People make fun of him. There’s a bunch of jokes about him, but I’m like, ‘Just wait. Let’s just wait a little bit, and then you can make jokes,'” Momoa stated.

Momoa went on to discuss how the backstory of Aquaman is one element that will be explored in the new film, which should offer plenty of twists and turns. Image

least impressive lexcorp I've ever seen. Btw not a new idea to have Luther with a full head of hair . Don't hate it but doesn't wow me either

I don't know if cavill will ever get another chance. He had two, one in 2006 & 2011-12 before Craig came back. Mazer and ale said cavill had secret talks with eon before it was known if Craig would come back cause his contract was near the end because of time like what happened with dalton

If Broccoli wants him FBF, she will get him and he will GRAB the opportunity and appreciate it vs. Cr-egg, who hates being Bond, has no clue as to why he is Bond, but loves getting rich as Bond.

Because the way she treated the last traditional Bond actor (who was extremely player after the Cold War and for the younger generation), rotten dogs are what Babs should cast as Bond, not Henry, Mike Fassbender, Hugh, Bale or any of the classy traditional tall and dark-haired types.

Henry and these guys are too good for Babs' regime.

"Sam and Jimmy have written the most inspirational song for Spectre and with Sam's extraordinary vocal performance, 'Writing's on the Wall' will surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time," Spectre producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement.
