He did get the musical number in theatres. Wasn't a fan of it myself, nor of those moving mountains fighting each other, way too ott for my tastes. Martin Freeman was awesome though, great casting choice!

I wonder if BOTFA will take lead as 2014's highest grossing film. Transformers 4 is currently taking lead.

It's already passed Guardians of the Galaxy, but it has a long way to go to overtake T4, sadly.

The Hobbit Trilogy added things from the appendices in the back of ROTK.

I caught up on a few of last years films over Christmas.

I watched Interstellar in the cinema. I enjoyed it, although it reminded me of 200 other films. I think Chritopher Nolan was arrested after it was released.

Edge of Tomorrow was a good mystery.

Snowpiercer was very loony but interesting to watch and John Hurt's beard put in a good performance.

I just saw Birdman with Michael Keaton. It was hillarious. It was like a light hearted, modern, reimagining of "Death of A Salesman". The references to his tenure as Batman are really clever in relaion to the character he plays.

Highly recommend!

Avenger Age of Ultron

Didn't suck but was not as good as the previous Avengers movie.

I'll skip a ton of spoiler material, boiling it down it followed too closely to Winter Soldier in some of it ideas and themes. Essentially Avengers 2 feels like set up for the next series of Marvel movies, the first movie was great coming together of individual series in to one massive team up.

It might be better in retrospect with the movies it sets up as part of the collection. Or maybe a LOTR style extended edition.

I went to the first Jurassic Park several time opening weekend. While disappointed in the final product it was blast to go with friends and family.

I was secrecy hoping for a reboot (yes, I know. A dirty word to most) since the movie deviated to greatly from the source material.

Jurassic world

Verdict : did not suck

If you go in expecting a Jurassic park movie you will get you money's worth.

I actually like this better than. Avengers 2 .

I'll post a proper review later but there are flaws in the logic at points over all the story works if you are willing to accept it.

Although one thing I'll mention is the habit of jp movies going for what appear to be small caliber weapons against animals a elephant gun couldn't drop. There are exceptions in this movie and jp3 . Jp3 had mercenaries with some serious fire power.

I watched the latest Mission Impossible in the cinema. It was a fun film - like the Bond series used to be. Unfortunately there was a Spectre trailer with a mumbling Daniel Craig. They should use subtitles.

I also watched The Day After on tv. Threads is better.

They showed the SPECTRE trailer before The Man From UNCLE as well.

Just got home from No Escape. It may not be a wow factor film, but it was quite intense. Though Pierce is a supporting player, I enjoy the film a bit better than NM.

Just saw Superman the Movie (the first one with Christopher Reeve) on TV. I noticed the credit "Watches by Timex" in the end credits, and had to Google Timex to see if they still exist. They do, but it's a brand name I haven't heard in ages. Just a little random observation.
