I think Craig is not that big an established star yet to draw in such massive BO figures. Neither film really interests me either, so I probably won't be bothered seeing these films at the cinema.
But Bond is Bond. Bond sells - not Craig! DAD was an awful film, yet raked in a huge amount. Craig was practically unknown in his first Bond outing, yet managed to beat DAD.
Regardless of what happens to Craig's other films, Bond 22 will be massive. Anyone thinking otherwise is just deluding themselves...
Yet? He will be 40 next year, and has been studying acting since he was 16. When will he become this 'established star'? Never? In fact, the very role he hesitated to take could be the only role he is ever known to be identified with in his career, pretty ironic for such a reluctant decision he had to make.
Not all actors want to be massive stars, but while we are on the subject of age, how old was Harrisson Ford when he starred in Star Wars (then an unknown actor)....?

Matt Helm is and from what I hear it will be completely faithful to the books unlike the Dean Martin films. So essentially, the new films will not be remakes of Dean Martin films (thank god) and give their sources the respect it earns instead of ignoring it and trying to copy the spy boom effect.

Comparing Ford to Craig now Sweeney? No comparison in their careers, and since CR's publicity, Craig's other films have tanked. Ford went on to be a box office draw. What do you expect from Craig/Kidman/Green's Golden Compass,an Indiana Jones Sci-fi type film, success or failure?

DreamWorks have been holding the rights since 2006 but there has only been talks about a faithful adaption, no one is officially signed onto it yet.

Ford didn't have any sucesses on the back of Star Wars. Hanover Street wasn't a blockbuster, nor was Heroes, Force 10 from Navarone (great film though) or The Frisco Kid. It took Empire to shoot Ford to stardom....

Harrison Ford has aged well and even in ROTJ he looks very youthfull. The same can't be said of Craig who hasn't aged well and to play a rookie agent is IMO a joke.

Connery needed the right asking price to show up out of retirement. Also, Craig/Kidman's The Invasion was pulled from USA theatres...DONE...$12.6 million in 2 weekends, with a budget of $80 million. It may not even go international with only $500,000 overseas in a tiny few markets. The next test for Craig is December 7 for The Golden Compass role, again with Kidman and Green. Look for this to sink as well. These role that came pouring in for Craig since his so-called popularity have resulted in little box office achievement. Infamous did $2.4 million,and now The Invasion did $12.6 million in the USA. Whether he likes it or not, Craig has been shown to be a success in only one role, Bond, yet he took it reluctantly, and it was not him, per se, but the new tone of the film in CR, that was the draw. December 7 could be Craig's Pearl Harbor with his next film, a day that will go down in infamy in Craig's career.

The Invasion you'll find bj was filmed before Daniel Craig shot Casino Royale and was a vehicle for Nicole Kidman. For some reason the studio shelved the project untill now.
As for The Golden Compass time will tell. I think it looks like good family entertainment, but we'll see.
As for Ford in Indy 4 it's not in cinemas yet. Yes it'll be huge and make alot of money, but maybe Harrison has done a Sir Rog in AVTAK and gone one too many. We'll find out. I'm still looking forward to it though.
Along with Bond 22 of course.
On a different note if Bond 22 and Bond 23 were also critically and commercially successful would any of the naysayers be able to turn over a new leaf toward Daniel Craig?
I doubt it, but it's a thought.
I've never had so much fun, and find the whole situation laughable. I guess for many now it's a way to save face.

'crane jumper' as Skywalker said.
But as Bond fans, i'am sure you'll continue to watch the new films,
even just for curiosity sake. I would, i wouldn't spite myself.
I suppose you could imagine the 'crane jumper' as a silhourette when watching Bond 22 and onwards.............otherwise you'll be denying
yourselves the pleasure of a great film franchise.
