Why did Godzilla underperform recently?

Who doesn't love the dinosaurs? Chris Pratt did not bring in those big bucks. Those big @$$ lizards did.

except last summer he did brings those bucks. He isn't like the old 90s star who could demand the big pay day but he is fun to watch.

I don't think big name actors contribute in bringing in the big bucks as they use to anymore, mostly due to Hollywood focusing on the big name franchises.

true I think bond is a perfect example.

JW was fun , judging by the number of people there tonight the weekend should be good. It be at least $ 60 million if the size audience in our town is any indicator . Maybe more . It had a good crowd

The fourth entry in the beloved franchise continued its historic run on Friday with another $29 million, representing a strong hold against the new Pixar flick and dropping 65 percent from opening day last week. That gives the Colin Trevorrow-helmed sequel a new record eight-day domestic total of $325.2 million -- topping Marvel's The Avengers, which earned $299.2 million through its first eight days. The latter film also holds the second weekend record ($103.05 million), but Universal itself is already projecting World will overtake that with $103.3 million this weekend for yet another record.

I saw a story this morning say jw should break $100 million based on early Friday numbers .

Universal must be thrilled, between this and fast and furious they are up there with wb and the other big studios . Maybe they will use their big bucks to make section 6 the 1920 bond movie eon is so scared of

I imagine it has a lot to do with the large amount of money EON threw at Mendes to get him to return since they just had to have him back. Add to that his troupe of over rated "artists" that don't come cheap, and there you have it.

The fourth installment of The Bourne Identity franchise (and third with Paul Greengrass) has begun casting up, and the first confirmed star beyond Matt Damon is Julia Stiles. She has closed a deal to reprise her role as covert agent Nicky Parsons in Universal Pictures’ Untitled Next Bourne Chapter. Stiles appeared in the first three films, emerging as an ally for the amnesiac assassin title character Jason Bourne. Let’s hope they bring back Joan Allen, who also has been a galvanizing figure in the franchise. Deadline revealed that Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander was being sought for a major role, but Stiles is the first cast member we’ve confirmed so far.

“Jurassic World” thundered to its second straight triumph at the North American box office this weekend, beating back a major challenge from Pixar Animation’s ‘Inside Out” with a rally that lifted the dinosaurs to a $102 million triumph. The sequel to Steven Spielberg‘s 1993 sci-fi classic is rampaging toward $1 billion in global grosses in record time. But the victory over the Disney family film, which led after Friday and outpaced projections by roughly $25 million with its $91 million haul, didn’t come easily. “Jurassic World” delivered a powerful $39.3 million on Saturday which drove it past “Inside Out” –which had led by roughly $5 million after Friday and took in around $31 million Saturday — but left it just under the second-week record of $103.1 million set by “The Avengers” in 2012.The domestic total for “Jurassic World” is now $381 million and the sci-fi saga directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt and Dallas Bryce Howard should top $1 billion in global grosses on Sunday or Monday, its 11th and 12th days in release. That would make it the fastest a movie has ever reached the milestone, ahead of Universal’s “Furious 7,” which managed the feat in 17 days in April. Overseas, “Jurassic World” rolled to $160 million over the weekend, the best holdover total for a day-and-date release ever, and its total from abroad is now $583 million. One thing I noticed is that this seems to be a popular rating(or with Connery 1st) among casual movie goers who don't like Craig.
As for lists of Craig fans...I once read how "The Living Daylights" doesn't feel like a Bond movie and that Dalton doesn't have charisma to pull off the role of Bond. THIS IS COMING FROM A CRAIG FAN.No really...someone actually wrote that.
