It's all Broccoli
She has poorly reinvented the franchise in her own image and maybe she feels jealous that Fleming, not her, created it.

Alessandra wrote:LOL. Daltonite Toothpaste, The WHO? Pam Bouvier and Ale, is me. As you can see from my username Alessandra (and the short is Ale) and Pam Bouvier under it. That's the honor I have had on this great forum, I've been named after my favorite Bond girl together with Honey Ryder.
I do ignore everything that's anti Cavill, but I do know who people are LOL
Veronica, it's all about not knowing what chemistry is, quite clearly. What do you think someone who says Brosnan and Sophie Marceau had no chemistry knows about it? LOL, clearly nothing.
Brosnan had great chemistry with every single partner he was given, but that's because he is what's called "an actors' actor". He makes the person acting opposite him shine and he plays his role effortlessly. You feel like you're looking at someone being themselves. An actors' actor does the opposite of a character actor, that focuses everything on themselves and on their own mannerism. Which is what Craig does, because he is a character actor. Problem is, you can't cast a character actor as a leading man that is supposed to be appealing for a wide audience and that is all about being suave, classy and charming while also being the best spy in the world. You always KNOW you are looking at someone who is acting (and I will add acting very wooden and inexpressive, but that's personal opinion) if you look at a character actor in a leading man role. That's the basic mistake with casting Craig or anyone like him.
Bond is someone that must always be played by an actors' actor.
There's not only an evident problem of not responding to physical features that are required, but a basic "type of actor" problem with Craig. Naturally, all others who were cast in the role did not have this problem, and that's why they all made good Bonds, as opposed to him. (maybe with the exception of Lazenby, though I feel like the set of circumstances there was more relevant than the acting and actor themselves).
As far as Vesper, I don't know if you read Casino Royale, but if you did, you will see how the physical features themselves aren't those Eva Green had for starters (and sorry but absolutely not Angelina Jolie either) and on top of it, the TYPE of woman she is and her personality in the book are NOTHING like what we saw on screen.
Brosnan was good with most of the women he co-stared. But Sophie IMO stands out. By far. And I also think he was especially good with Rosamund Pike. The one he didn't have chemistry really is Richards and that just gets more obvious since she is in the same movie as Marceau(sigh)..
As for Vesper,I admit I didn't read CR(but I am planning too)...I said Angelina because of the sheer beauty. As for Eva-I don't find her to be either especial pretty or charismatic or anything really... the whole movie I thought-"why couldn't we get more Solange and less Vesper?" My cousin agreed with me

As for what kind of actor Craig is he-the one that has one facial expression I would say ...
Lazenby, considering it was his first acting job did an okay job..wooden perhaps but since it was his first time...I don't know if that was on purpose or because of Lazenby but he was a "decent chap" Bond. Just look what he says when Draco says he should woo Tracy because she "needs da man". He humbley says "You overrastimated me Draco. The thing you are asking is just not for me."
Or when Tracy says she knows about their deal Lazenby really seems like he is sorry. Or guilty.
I can not imagine any other Bond ever doing that.
That doesn't really fit in the general image of Bond. His Bond was like an honest, good guy who actually seemed like he doesn't fit into the spy world. Actually,I find it quite fascinating how he played Bond like that and Diana Rigg said how he was incredibly confident in real life...
As for Craig and his "incredible acting talent" Babs always gushes about-did that talent hide into a rabbit hole? So Craig is a "serious" actor and doing "character" roles(thats what I heard anyway)...To be a good Bond you need to have natural style, sophistication, charisma and coolnes and you are already 3/4 way there. Craig has none of these and I don't see any real acting talent either...

And,yes,Lazenby was cast for his looks and good physique primarily. He was great in fight scenes.
Fight scenes are the last thing I think of when I think of Bond but Lazenby really stands out in them.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I don't see the resemblance, but that's not a deciding factor. I'm not against a blond actor being cast, I just don't think Daniel Craig was the right choice. And to be fair to Craig, I also dislike the way the character as been written and the direction his films have taken. When Craig was announced, I was optimistic. I didn't start to follow my own opinion until QOS.ml94 wrote:Pierce was 42 in GOLDENEYE, rupert reminds timothy...Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:I had to google Rupert Friend. Bond? I guess so. Friend is 33 now, Dalton and Moore were both past 40 when they were cast, so Friend is a possibility.

I think next BOND actor is born in early/mid 80s, rupert is right age (1981) then....& yeah for me last bond film is DAD.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:I don't see the resemblance, but that's not a deciding factor. If she badly wanted to make something out of Craig she should've just create another spy and let other people deal with Bond. Or just stop calling this "reboot" James Bond...if she wanted to completely change it than that's her choice-just stop calling the character James Bond.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think MGW is just as guilty. He wanted to reboot Bond with TLD.bjmdds wrote:It's all BroccoliShe has poorly reinvented the franchise in her own image and maybe she feels jealous that Fleming, not her, created it.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Just watching Johnny English Reborn starring Rosamund Pike. The head of MI7(
) says she didn't want him back. Guns, fast cars and chauvinism are passe. Isn't that what Judi Dench didn't like in 1995?
She also said how the main thing about MI7 now is dialogue not toys-isn't that a bit of a parody on Craig movies?
There's also Tucker instead of Tanner

I really don't see McMahon as a choice for Bond.Just because someone is dark-haired doesn't mean he is immediately the right for Bond.I don't find him either handsome or anything really...ml94 wrote:2005

Oh definitely. We've discussed Bond features before as described in CR and they certainly have nothing to do with Daniel Craig or anyone like him.Blowfeld wrote:Don't forget about the physical description of Bond In Casino Royale. Casting was completely wrong in every way from the start.

Worthington was never in the shortlist and he admitted to lying about it, too. The only two who did the final tux fitting were Cavill and Craig.ml94 wrote:Yeah, but MCMAHON was wilsons original choice...Kristatos wrote:I thought the shortlist was Craig, Cavill and Sam Worthington.ml94 wrote:2005

Doubling the original weekend estimate proffered by Universal Jurassic World is now coming in at a reported $204.6M ($204,596,380) for its opening weekend, the 2nd biggest of all time, taking an Express Pass by this May's Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.2M) and almost catching Marvel's The Avengers ($207.4).
World, which nicely also doubled as a confirmation that Chris Pratt is an A-list lead, pulled in a healthy $47.8K per theater in 4,274 venues. That number just makes it the best top weekend theater average over The Avengers' $47.7K average.
Not only is Jurassic World the biggest opening weekend that Universal has ever had (the next closest film is Furious 7 with $147.1M) it's the biggest that co-financier Legendary has ever had, which includes the Dark Knight films.
Jurassic World outperformed even the most optimistic of forecasts for the last four days, surprising nearly everyone. Its $82.8M Friday was the third best Friday opening on record, with only Age of Ultron ($84.4M) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 ($91M) still ahead of it.
