ITV4 is showing a lot of classic Bond at the moment

Post by Kristatos »

Of course, being ITV, they have little respect for things like aspect ratios. Last night, I watched Monds Are Forever, starring Sean Conne and Ill St John.

It was heaven when BBC showed FRWL several years ago.

In a way, it was odd seeing a Bond film on the BBC. It seemed out of its natural habitat, like when Morecambe and Wise went to ITV. But that was far outweighed by the joy of seeing it uncut, commercial-free and in its correct aspect ratio.

Yes. Goldeneye pays ITV4 not to show the Craig monstrosities.

ITV4 has James Bond fans shaken and stirred by airing the wrong Casino Royale

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/james-bond ... no-royale/
Those of you tuning in to see Daniel Craig dashing across the rooftops of Prague in Casino Royale on telly tonight (August 4) were probably a bit shaken and stirred.

In a puzzling case fit for 007 himself, James Bond fans are trying to figure out why the wrong Bond film aired during the 9pm slot on ITV4. Both the digital and physical listings have the 2006 version of Casino Royale airing.
This was stupid as the Craig movies are on ITV1/2! I'm glad if some Craig fans had their evening's entertainment ruined.

ITV4 is showing all Roger's films in order at 9pm nightly starting next Monday. Not sure if that includes the weekend, though seven films over one week makes more sense than Monday to Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday.

I saw a bit of Thunderball on ITV4 recently and they were showing it in the correct widescreen format.

They've got much better about that. Wish they'd stop cutting the films to ribbons, though, especially LTK.

Watched a little bit of TSWLM on ITV the other night. I'm not sure if they could make a film like that today but it is a billion times more fun than the Craig films.
