Really? I seem to remember Spiderman 3 getting bad reviews when it came out.

I can't tell what the movie is supposed to be about. Or why I should care.

Doesn't matter if it is rotten it will make a lot of money but it's $250 million + p&r if it stalls it will really hurt sony if if makes as much as the first they might be ok. But the weird story is a lot of places are comparing it to spidy 3 then mention it burned out the franchise, which it didn't they could of made a 4. Maybe this is the danger of studios declaring the need to reboot, like eon did with DAD, WB with superman and Sony did with spidy 3 now audiences feel they gave the right declaring the current movies series is done.

He looks HIDEOUS Captain......he does not look well at all the past 6 months..............Deadline:"Jumping in with both feet, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 made a splash but not the tidal wave that was hoped for in late nights Thursday, with an estimated $8.7M to start the weekend off for Sony. The thinking from industry trackers was that the late night gross would be much more......... Captain America: The Winter Soldier debuted in late nights during Spring Break this year (on April 4th) to $10.2M in fewer theaters".......Comicbookmovie.com:"Sony is apparently quite anxious to see how well the sequel performs, especially with a long running time and a whopping budget of $225 million (as well as around $190 million spent on marketing). The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has only two weekends to make a mark in North America before Godzilla stomps into theaters."

Yeah, I guess the American equivalent would be going from a major to a minor league in sport. Rovers have teetered on the brink a couple of times in the past, but they've always pulled back at the last minute. This time they didn't.

I suppose the FA Cup would be the nearest thing, though it's not the massive event that the Superbowl is in the States.

was it Jodie who had a nuts rambling at an awards show where she almost/did outed herself?

Anyway sincere best wishes to the Fosters!

Went to the pub with some friends from university the other day and we ended up speaking about the Bond films. We couldn't agree over who the best Bond was, so we gave the casting vote to one of the staff. Brosnan won it. They also didn't like Craig, clearly I make friends with the right people; although, I did get some flack for liking Lazenby.

Yeah, I'll have to say that the Pierce grows on you. The major weakness were 1/ the scripts he had to deal with and a minor in not having John Barry; the classic Barry was a large percentage of the Bond mystique 2/ he sometimes didn't just let loose, he was too tentative in some instances. I like the Sean for just throwing his swagger out. But I like the Pierce for being a Bond that is somewhat realistic, since the real Bond wouldn't be a big Mr Universe guy (which Connery almost was, placing as they say, 'third in the tall man's division'). I also like him because he liked Bond as a character; it's an extra plus when a Bond fan actually gets the role!
And yes, I like the George a lot too. For a non-actor he played it with confidence. To get the role, he just pretended to be Bond and that bowled over the producers, and that confidence carried to the screen. I think he was a natural acting talent who should've studied his craft and had a career. Was it 'too much, too soon?' :cake:

On general discussion, I'd like to bring up the true story of the rogue Russian sub that launched a nuclear missile March 1968 on Pearl Harbor Hawaii. I haven't seen the movie with Ed Harris (Phantom), but have read the book Red Star Rogue. A real Bond plot, for real! Nuclear catastrophe was averted because the missile exploded on launch; likely because of a fail safe that the pirates believed they could counter. An incredible technical and human story. The Russian captain and first officer are nice guys. Then eleven strangers appear, with full ID of sailors led by a 'chief.' They're probably osnaz, basically the colder form of spetznaz, trained in nuclear weapons. Imagine, the entire Hawaiian islands would be radioactive for at least twenty years. The sub was pretending to be a Chinese sub, so they (the bad guys in the Kremlin) wanted America to attack China. 70 bodes of the crew were found in the forward compartments (not designed for that many; so they were likely herded by the pirates). The first officer's wife had a chilling premonition. At the exact hour the sub imploded she felt a great fear, witnessed by her friends who had to escort her home from a party. The Phantom movie is loosely based on this story; I hope one day to see a film that is based on Red Star Rogue.

They will be back. Are they still building the posh new ground?

Do you support City too - are you like Michael Palin who supports both teams of his home city - Sheffield?

Yeah, they're still getting the new stadium. To my mind, the money would have been better spent on some decent players.

As for The s**t, most people in Bristol support either one team or the other. My MP is the exception, but she's a politician, so she has to say that.
