I would walk out of a theatre just because Cr-egg was in a film but why walk out because of a stunt? Bond films are loaded with impossible stunts every single film. It's ironic that Q branch never once issued a bullet proof vest to Bond. This was the first time Bond was shot directly and who did it?????????? Moneypenny :!:

CR-egg's Bond doesn't exist for me. I don't even watch his movies. But, he was good in Blood Stone the video game. That was his proper Bondian moment. But, then again, the story was written by Bruce Feirstein!

Lorenzo Semple, Jr., the brains behind the "Batman" TV series, has died a day after celebrating his 91st birthday.

The beloved screenwriter, who created scripts for classic films like "Three Days of the Condor," "Papillon" and Bond film "Never Say Never Again," passed away on Friday at his home in Los Angeles.

His impressive resume also includes Dino De Laurentiis' 1976 "King Kong" epic and "Flash Gordon." He also created R-rated YouTube series "Reel Geezers," in which he reviewed movies.

Semple was responsible for the iconic 'Pow!' and 'Kapow!' graphics that popped up on screen during "Batman" TV fight scenes. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1966 "Batman" movie.

His daughter is the novelist and Emmy-nominated comedy writer-producer Maria Semple.

"Face Off" villain John Travolta who starred opposite Nicholas Cage has expressed his interest in taking on the role of the bad guy in James Bond 24 movie.
Travolta is no newbie on portraying the role of a villain as he has proven his villainous characteristics in Pulp Fiction and Broken Arrow to name a few.
During his interview with The Daily Telegraph's Celia Walden, he revealed that his "tough guy" image for his movie projects like "The Forger" and the yet to be released mobster's biopic where he plays the role of John Gotti hasn't satisfied his inclinations yet.
Travolta's desire is to "close the chapter on playing villains" with a bang. He claims that playing a villain in a Bond movie would very much satisfy his penchant saying, "I would love that. They're going a different way with their villain in this next film but I've spoken to Barbara Broccoli (a producer) about it and she loves the idea, so that would be great"............ As for John Travolta taking on the role of the villain in an upcoming 007 movie, are they true?

“Yeah, I mean he’s a fantastic actor and we talked about doing it at some point, it’s not going to be this one because the story isn’t suitable but I’d love to work with him, he’s fantastic,” says Barbara Broccoli.

However, celebrity names like Benedict Cumberbatch who voiced the evil "Smaug" in the recently released "The Hobbit" and even Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) have been rumored to take on the role of a villain.

Hannibal did well in the ratings-the ratings have been going up and up every week, even without Grimm as its lead in last night and being preeempted by earthquake coverage in the L.A. area.

Noah opened to $15.2 million on Friday. Box Office Mojo is predicting $40 million for the weekend, slightly above studio expectations. I'm a bit torn on whether to see this one, reviews seem to be mostly negative.

Hollywood stars Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan are teaming up to shoot a movie in Northern Ireland later this year. The two A-list actors will return to Irish soil in October to star in a Christmas feature film, made by Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People.

Neeson, who comes from Ballymena, and Brosnan, who hails from Navan, are both patrons of the charity and the movie, A Christmas Star, will mark its 25th anniversary. http://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/a ... neeson.jpg

The announcement was made yesterday by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, who was in Belfast to take part in a question and answer session for an audience of 500 young people. The Cinemagic patron unveiled a host of film and television professionals who will lend their support to the groundbreaking production that will be filmed in Belfast and will engage with hundreds of young people from across Northern Ireland.

Joining Neeson and Brosnan will be Oscar-winning producer Gareth Ellis Unwin (The King's Speech); award-winning composer Patrick Doyle (Brave, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes); music supervisor Maggie Rodford (The King's Speech, Anna Karenina); Belfast actress Paula Malcolmson (Deadwood, Ray Donovan); casting director and Cinemagic patron Ros Hubbard (The Commitments, Enemy At The Gates); camera operator Ian Fox (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man); producer Iain Smith (Children Of Men, Mad Max, Fury Road), and production manager Terry Bamber (The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Skyfall).

No doubt. The weekend estimate ended up being $44 million, quite a bit over the studio's projected $35 million. Actuals are released later today. I think it's quite amusing that all the publicity seems to feature Emma Watson, while poor old Russell Crowe is barely mentioned. No question who the studio thinks is the more bankable star. As one commenter on Box Office Mojo's Facebook page sarcastically put it, "I didn't realize Emma Watson was playing Noah".

I noticed her face in most of the online ads if I hadn't know Russell crow was Noah I don't think i would have gotten the impression he was in the movie at all.

Almost funny how the studio was so worried about the religious attending trying to meet the pope and others to get the ok, it doesn't seem to matter if they hate or love it the controversy is enough to get people to check if out.

The director bitched and bitched about the studio concerns and at one point blamed Christians. I get it a lot of them can throw the first stone types but from what I hear about the movie Noah or not it's not very good so my bet us the studio was using Christians as a straw man to get the director to fix the movie. Still $125 million plus god knows what for p&r . They might do ok if the trend keeps up, even if it's a bad movie.

i want to see this, interesting that the 3d captain movie is set for the same day as batman superman or it was. I'd almost be willing to bet on captain America .

I don't know his story very well so I don't know if they have any place to go with him. One thing I did piss me off was killing off captain America in some d**n bush protest. I'd be upset if they did it for Obama like lets say having a drone indiscriminately take out the cap.
I guess I'd like politics kept out of movies that's why I got some problems with Craig's movies and probable would with Noah too if it's as global warming nuts as some say it is. I can respect religious messaging even if I don't like it. Politics people act righteous no matter how they lean with nothing to back it up.

The actual figure turned out to be a little bit lower, but only by a quarter-million or so.

You had me totally fooled there ;-)

On the subject of April Fools, anyone spotted any good ones? I was looking through the newspapers in my local library earlier and saw stories about:

*Scotland is going to switch to driving on the right if they vote yes to independence. (The Guardian)

*Newly released documents show that dodos were regularly eaten in Bristol in the 1800s at meetings of the wealthy Society of Merchant Venturers. (Bristol Post)

*Boris Johnson has called for Heathrow Airport to be turned into a housing development if a new airport is built in East London. (The Times)

*Kim Jong Un has banned One Direction in North Korea unless they copy his haircut. (Daily Mirror)

Admittedly, the last two could actually be true, since they both involve buffoons.

I was looking over some of these stories. Do I ever miss the good ol' days of fake Craig quits like we had in 2007... or was it 2009. The ones I've seen this year are entirely too elaborate.

[spoil]Scotland to be ruled by German duke

The Times was among a number of papers to take on a Scottish theme with their spoof - suggesting that the independence debate was being watched with interest by His Royal Highness Ferdinand, Duke of Saxony.

It claimed that the German Duke, descended from the last Stuart king, would have a claim to the throne of an independent Scotland.

Quotes attributed to an academic seem to make a credible point: "These are tricky legal waters... If we revert to a Scotland that, constitutionally at least, we last saw in the 1600s, it does seem the Stuarts have rather more of a right to reign than a Windsor."

There is one giveaway, however - the name of the Dublin University expert, Amadan Giblean, is a Gaelic translation of April Fool.

Ban on selfies

Metro included a feature today on the development that the Government is trying to ban people from taking selfies.

It included an interview with the "poster boy for a growing anti-selfie movement in the US", Louie "Bull" Geary".

And the newspaper said it "has learned" that "a new branch of the Department for Culture, Media & Sport has drafted proposals for a ban on selfies, which could come into force as early as the end of next year".

Nick Clegg has made a "surprise appointment", according to the Huffington Post, by hiring Piers Morgan in a media-consulting role ahead of the next general election.

The new website noted that the former Mirror editor's show Piers Morgan Live was cancelled in February, and its final show aired last Friday.

Huff Post quoted a senior Lib Dem figure saying: "Only a fool would think we could win it, but recruiting a man of Morgan’s gravitas and veracity is likely to give the party a clear advantage in the media campaign."

'Morgan had been eager to take the role', the Huffington Post claimed 'Morgan had been eager to take the role', the Huffington Post claimed One Direction North Korea ban

The Mirror revealed that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has drawn up plans to challenge the worldwide dominance of One Direction.

He has banned them from entering the country unless "the boys opt for the short-back-and-sides hairdo he models".

And in a bid to provide competition for Harry Styles and co the leader will set up an X Factor-style talent show to find his own hit band, "dubbed Un Direction". Union Jack without the blues

"Secret Government papers" have been leaked which suggest a new design for the Union Jack, in the event of Scottish independence, the Daily Mail "revealed".

Flagmakers have apparently already started producing the design, which ditches the Scottish saltire in favour of a bare red cross on white background alongside the existing red saltire of Ireland's St Patrick.

The newspaper claimed: "The dramatic change to our national flag – the first since 1801, when St Patrick’s cross was added – was accidentally revealed in confidential papers carried by a Government adviser in Downing Street."

ITV's Daybreak programme managed to secure an interview with the first farmer in the world to rear chickens that lay square eggs.

"While the shape makes it convenient for eating, it also means making egg sarnies has become even simpler," apparently. ITV deserve high marks for craftsmanship with their reporting on 'square eggs' ITV deserve high marks for craftsmanship with their reporting on 'square eggs'

Scotland switches to the right

The Guardian's Bruce Roberts has an exclusive line from Scotland today - that the country would switch to driving on the right if it gains independence.

Salmond Sterling

The Daily Telegraph has "reported" that plans have been unveiled for a new Scottish pound coin in the event of a victory for the Yes campaign in September's referendum.

"The plan,", according to their reporter Flora Poli, "which would be introduced on April 1, 2015, would see the head of Scotland’s First Minister replace that of the Queen if the country votes for independence."

Apparently the Alex Salmond designs were "being honed at a facility funded by Sir Sean Connery".

Frackingham Palace

From the regional press

An 8ft shark has been "spotted" in the Birmingham canal, the Birmingham Mail reported.

The predator was seen by a "quick-thinking passerby" - a Mr S Harks - who filmed the spectacle on his smartphone. The footage, a snapshot of which can be seen above, is indeed shocking.

Birmingham animal expert Wendy Hale told the paper: "It is unheard of for shark to make it this far inland... Birmingham city centre is not its natural habitat." Thanks for that, Ms Hale.

According to the Brentwood Gazette, plans are underway to create a "bizarre juxtaposition" by placing a six-foot bronze statue of Joey Essex in the grounds of the town's 14th century Chapel Ruins.

Brentwood Borough Council will be "investing up to £300,000" in immortalising the The Only Way is Essex star.

"Organisers are hoping the large representation of Joey, sporting his famous goofy smile, will attract thousands more visitors each year," the local paper said.

"Tiny pieces of fibre, believed to be from the rope used to hang the monkey, were even found close to the poor primate’s neck," the paper said.

A lead archaeologist named as "Avril Foujour" told the Mail: "This is one of the most important finds in maritime history and ranks alongside the discovery of the Mary Rose."

Going into some detail, the Post outlines the possible history of "the Brislington Dutch Turkey" - aka the Dodo - before quoting UWE's own Old Literature expert Dr Avril Fish.

From around the world

The website reddit has invented a revolutionary new way to browse its content.

Criticising other companies for "indulging in japery" on 1 April, it introduces the Hand Equivalent Action Detection system (headdit), saying in a blog post that "reddit is serious business".

Elsewhere it appears those japesters at Vegemite have decided to have a crack at the energy drinks market, unveiling their 'NEW Vegemite iDRINK 2.1' drink. Although judging by some of the comments, there may actually be a market for it.

Google Japan's 'Magic Hand'. Apparently Google has also got involved. First up is the Magic Hand, which Google Japan claims will mean even the laziest smartphone user won't have to go to the trouble of using their own fingers. The - entirely made-up - device functions a a thumb, cat paw and even a back scratcher.

Those brainiacs at Google also came up with a nice little Pokemon wheeze. In a video posted by Google Maps, the company said it was creating a new job - Pokemon Master. The search giant wants people to search the globe looking for 150 of Nintendo's fictional characters. Anyone who finds them all will be invited top the company's headquarters for a final interview. Or not. A cute idea, but one that might have been better for April Fool's 2008.[/spoil]
