$70 million is not that much by modern Hollywood standards. The film's $22 million opening is roughly in line with expectations - $1 million below studio projections, but above BOM's $20 million "bar for success".

maybe. But it seems a lot for a movie like this. Wind talkers, flags of our fathers. Red tails, Hearts "war , none of them did well over Sea.most didn't make a dime.

Hearts war $70 cost, gross $32
Red tails $58, $50 gross
Wind talkers $116, gross $77
Flags of our fathers $90. Gross $65
Defiance (stating you know who) $32 mil budget (smart ) grosses $51 the best so far but not making money.
Enemy at the fate did better too but still not enough to make a profit.

Inglorious bas***ds (2000) $70 million , gross $322 biggest winner

I guess my point is WWII movies do not have a good recent history with the world wide take being very small.

You've obviously done a lot of research, Omega. Given those figures, I agree that it's not looking good, though Monuments Men at least has the advantage of a starry cast.

it was a link in the Bo mojo story. This could be the case where star power does save monument men cause I don't think the subject is that compelling like making western. It take a special story to break the trends.

The world is sitting on pins and needles waiting to see what a mess Affluck looks like as an over the hill Bruce Wayne. YAWN :!: Where is Danny? The guy has NO projects lined up except Broccoli's affections.

Sean Pertwee has been cast as Alfred in Gotham (the TV series). It sounds like they're going for the New 52 Alfred, more bodyguard than butler.

Well, in the presumably cancelled animated series Beware The Batman (which I loved very much despite some of the nerds hating it), we had Alfred being a former MI6 agent, and the one who trained Bruce to become the martial artist he is today. Hell of a series. And for some reason, sometimes you'd think Batman himself is a secret agent type hero rather than a detective/vigilante.

Although I'm opened on Jeremy Iron as the new butler, I wish Tim got the part instead.

I think Alfred has always been ex-military, but recent incarnations have played up this aspect of his character much more.

That would explain the tough side of Caine's Alfred in BB. Also, his military background was explained briefly in TDK.

ISTR an episode of the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm animated series featured his past catching up with him when an old secret service colleague pays him an unexpected visit.

"While he hasn't made a movie since 2012's Skyfall, Daniel is currently attached to two movie projects - one of which is the next Bond movie scheduled for 2015. It is currently untitled and simply known as Bond 24. The other is a thriller called The Whole Truth which is also not planned for release until next year. The Whole Truth has been penned by Nicholas Kazan, but a director is yet to be named. While the plot of the film is being kept under wraps, it is expected to be set in the courtroom. The film is being produced by Atlas Entertainment and will be on sale to distributors at the European Film Market." (count on The Whole Truth being another bomb.)

Daniel in a court room? Will he wear a wig;)

Personally I can not imagine a more dull topic.

The latest Bond...? I don't recall anything of that sort in Die Another Day. I remember Bond doing a Robinson Crusoe impersonation, but nothing of that sort.
