I have a question for you bond fans !
Casino Royale : 7.9/10 from 245,423 users in IMDB (the highest score for a bond movie) and 94 % in Rotten Tomatoes (except Connery, any bond actors get a score like this)
Pierce Brosan : Tomorrow Never Dies : 54% The World Is Not Enough : 51% and Die Another Day : 59%
Roger Moore : Moonraker : 64% Octupussy : 44% A View To Kill : 39%

Last I heard, disagreeing with IMDb user ratings was not considered a symptom of mental illness.

I like how you only select certain Bond films to try and make a point. Not only is that biased, but it doesn't prove anything. If I had to go by the review scores, then I would only be watching a handful of Bond films. I've seen many average reviews for Dr. No, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill and others. Does this mean that they're bad? No, because in the end it's up to the individual, they are their own best reviewer. It's difficult to make Bond films as good as Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, and GoldenEye every single time.
I personally don't care for Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond, because he just comes across as an anti-hero, or mindless killing machine. Timothy Dalton did a much better job with the hard-edge portrayal of Bond in my opinion, and doesn't get nowhere near as much credit as Craig. In fact, all the previous Bond actors were all pretty cool and charismatic, and lethal when they had to be, and I found them to be much more likeable. I also don't care for this new direction whatsoever. The producers just throw away everything I loved about the James Bond series without any good reason. The Bond films used to be fun and entertaining, and and now they're boring espionage soap operas that explore Bond's character, and imitate Bourne.

You omit the fact that 245,000 of the so-called 245,423 users were Eon recycled internet plants. Don't you know what's going on here? Eon has people on it's payroll specifically hired at minimum wage fees to do nothing more than bolster Cr-egg's films.CraigIsTheBestBond wrote:Casino Royale : 7.9/10 from 245,423 users in IMDB (the highest score for a bond movie) and 94 % in Rotten Tomatoes (except Connery, any bond actors get a score like this)

Bad faith, pathetic.
Don't be upset, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are the most profitable bond movies

Umm, QOS is the first Bond film ever to make a loss. And Thunderball, with a budget of $9 million and a worldwide gross of $141.2 million, is the most profitable Bond film by far. That's a box office to budget ratio of nearly 16:1, compared to just under 4:1 for CR.CraigIsTheBestBond wrote:

I'm surprised that Casino Royale is only 7.0/10 on IMDB. I believed it was regarded as a classic.

You've hit the nail on the head. And if it's all the same, then i'd rather not bow down the the IMDB ratings. IMDB ratings are gospel? The Saint 007 wrote:I like how you only select certain Bond films to try and make a point. Not only is that biased, but it doesn't prove anything. It's fun to read the IMDB user reviews but I don't take that much notice of the ratings.
