Looks like they had the press release ready before the number actually came in, but they do contradict themselves in the end where they say it grossed $104.4 million world wide when they opened the story with it broke $200 million.

I's like Craig's math where he said CvA was better received over seas making more money there, except it bombed over seas making less money than in the US.
Domestic: $100,240,551 57.3%
+ Foreign: $74,581,774 42.7%
= Worldwide: $174,822,325
Maybe he got his movie's numbers and the Smurfs confused.
Domestic: $142,614,158 25.3%
+ Foreign: $421,135,165 74.7%
= Worldwide: $563,749,323
PanARMENIAN.Net - " The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo " passed two milestones: Sony's movie now has grossed $200 million worldwide and $100 million in North America, TheWrap.com said.

The movie, which had a budget of $90 million, hasn't yet opened in some territories, including Japan.

"Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" opened to $12.8 million on December 21. It will be at 668 North American locations this weekend.

David Fincher's adaptation of Stieg Larsson's bestselling novel is nominated for five Academy Awards, including best actress, for Rooney Mara. Daniel Craig also stars.

At the Oscar nominees luncheon, Mara addressed a possible sequel: "I'm signed up for the other two. Hopefully they will do them. I think they will, but I'm not sure when."

The 2010 Swedish film "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" grossed $104.4 million worldwide.

They did not mean Nimoy, but a new Paris for MI-5. "The Great Paris
The Great Paris (whose real name was never revealed) was a retired magician (acted out by Leonard Nimoy, who had been released from the cast of the just-canceled "Original Series" version of Star Trek) who joined the IMF with the first mission of Season Four, and he stayed with them for two seasons. Effectively, he was a replacement for Rollin Hand (Martin Landau) who left the IMF at the end of Season Three. Like Rollin, The Great Paris was a master of role play, languages and disguises, capable even of successfully impersonating an ethnic Japanese citizen in Japan.
Paris grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised by his father after Paris was abandoned as a child by his mother. When he later served as a magician's apprentice, he was caught in a love triangle between his mentor and his mentor's assistant. This would lead to the master magician murdering Paris's love interest, and this painful memory would be used against Paris by enemy agents many years later, using a lookalike for Paris's murdered love interest.
Paris's skills as a magician were heavily leveraged when he played Zastro The Magician as part of Season Four's "The Falcon," the only three-part mission of either series; Nimoy thoroughly enjoyed shooting this mission. Paris’s role playing may not have been as over-the-top as Rollin’s was, but The Great Paris had a particular talent for a flippant or sarcastic remark at just the right time as part of his role play that would catch targets off-guard. Also, The Great Paris was particularly adept at roles where he would embed himself as one of the targets and would seemingly be working against the IMF team’s mission. Paris apparently had a high tolerance for physical pain because he got "roughed up" by antagonists several times during missions, winding up beaten and bruised, but never compromising the mission. Like some other members of the IMF, Paris was not immune to romantic entanglements with enemy agents who were targeting him, falling for snaring enemy agent Lady Cora Weston in "Lover's Knot," and becoming entangled with phony defector Ingrid Brugge in "My Friend, My Enemy." Who should play Paris? Clive Owen? Christian Bale? Brad Pitt?

I hope you're right 200%.
As for director Brad Bird, it’s possible that he may be back for the next installment as well, if we can take his following quote seriously:

“Hey man, what a good idea! cross pollinating the bad robot films!”, Bird says of bringing Leonard Nimoy’s ‘Paris’ back from the classic series. “I’ll bring that up with JJ. I’ll be sure to discuss it.”
I say go for it. It would be nice to see a little more of Leonard outside of Trek.

And stupid question but since the movie Jim Phelps turned out to be a bad guy (which really pissed both fans and original MI cast), is it best to consider it that this Phelps is nothing more than an impostor? The TV Phelps probably was probably assassinated by the either the movie Phelps or his henchmen, and that assassination was then covered up as the movie Phelps himself steals his identity, leading Ethan to think that the Phelps character turned evil. That's just a thought though. Or maybe I haven't seen the first MI movie for a long time.
Bird did a good job on MI4 too bad he never got a Bond movie.
Bringing back a 70 year old man for a tv tie in might not be a good idea, maybe if they want to establish the Jim Phelps was a cover name use by the bad guy in MI and the real Jim was not a bad guy it would be a welcome idea.
I just went to this link.

http://missionimpossible.wikia.com/wiki/Jim_Phelps

From here, I found this info:
Actor Peter Graves had been hoping to restore honor to James Phelps's reputation before his own death, especially since actor Jonathan Wesley "Jon" Voight bore no resemblance to him and approached the role as he would have any villainous role. Some fans have done this for him by claiming that the "James Phelps" who was a character in the film starring Tom Cruise was NOT the real James Phelps.

Simply wrong information there.

Hugo beating out Potter due to politics in Hollywood. Iran wins best foreign film award too. The show is boring.

When it comes to the Oscars, I think Harry's underrated far enough already. And no Special Oscar either......for the last 10 years he has saved the world? The Oscars hasn't been great since its 76th show, where it was all about LOTR. Not only that, both Pierce and Sean were in it as presenters. The 81st show could have been great, but DC's presence ruined it probably because I'm part of the Rebels.

Um, that's not actually what they give out Oscars for.

I haven't seen Hugo, but people I know who have praise it highly. I enjoy the Potter movies, but I'm not sure they're really Oscar-worthy. They're good, solid entertainment, but none has really excelled in any department; nor have the special effects, impressive as they are, led to any great technical innovations the way LOTR's did.

FBF, your Hobbit film will be required to do the finishing touches on Bond 23 once Twilight buries it at the box office. Will you have your Hobbit tee-shirt ready to go? Bond 23 opens up against absolutely nothing November 9th so I expect a nice opening, LESS than QOS but more than CR, then a very steep decline off the face of the box office charts.

How it Went Down...In Brosnan's Words:
The "It's over. It's absolutely over" declaration came while speaking with the press in Nassau, Bahamas, and continued later that day in an interview Brosnan gave to Sun Media. The saga, he stated, began with a phone call after Die Another Day, when Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson said "We're so happy with the success, we want you to come back!" With that, Brosnan continued thinking that he would once again don the tux and Walther PPK.
It was during the filming of After the Sunset where Brosnan states that his agents called him and said that Broccoli and Wilson had changed their minds. "It's very hard to find the truth in that town (Hollywood) or in this business at times," Brosnan said. "But it was their prerogative to change their minds. They can do it! And they might have done it 'to go younger.'" He went on to say, "It was disappointing. It was surprising. And I accepted the knowledge after 24 hours of being in shock."

Despite previous interviews where he described his situation as opaque and unclear, it seems that Brosnan has finally admitted that he will not be coming back for Bond 21. "[So] you know something's going to be finished, it's going to be over. And it comes with a great disappointment, but it also comes with a great satisfaction of having achieved the success with it that I had achieved."

When asked if there was bitterness about the whole situation, Brosnan replied, "None, none, none! It's not worth having. If I did, it would make all the great decade, the four films, the lovely success, meaningless. Bitterness against whom, and for what reason?"

However, the article states that Brosnan did take some satisfaction in seeing the franchise stumble, with Bond 21 (the movie that would eventually become Casino Royale) postponed for at least a year. "Go figure!" Brosnan was quoted as saying with a wry grin wrapped around his face.

I wonder if Pierce will ever get back to the world of espionage in the near future. Something like Gary Oldman's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy would do. And Gary was made to look older there.

FBF, there still is talk about Pierce with that film you know only so well that has gone nowhere so far. Eva Green's new look as Angelique this May opposite Depp. http://cache.Reelz.com/assets/content/b ... EELZ-2.jpg Dark Shadows rates higher than the new Spiderman movie. What say yee? Will you all go and see the real vampire flick Dark Shadows? It is so hush hush that no trailer has been provided by Burton.
