Well, given the recent revelations, it seems The Beef can only generate chemistry after the movie set equivalent of a quick fumble in the mailroom. Beats acting, I suppose.

Apparently so. Shia and Megan were getting it on, despite the fact that, IIRC, they were both in relationships at the time.

Sanctum, aweful. I was expecting a wonder pictures showing off the beauty of a cave dive with some sort of story wrapped around it. Nope we forwarded to get to the end but it is not a movie I would ever watch again.

It is suppsoed ot by artsy I guess, i wish we hadn't wasted our adult movie night on that movie.

Finally watched the Watchmen, on the film's network TV premiere last night. The people who advised me to stick to the comics were right.

I did watch The Lives of Others which I think you said you saw last year. Wonderful film.

What was different in the DC? I can't remember if I watched it. I enjoyed most of Watchmen except the ending was not as good as the rest of it.

Never saw the theatrical, all I know is that someone pointed that the added scenes truly added to the story and characters.

I never watched on DVD because I was waiting for the Ultimate Cut to be released over here (it still hasn't as yet). But the problems I had with the film had less to do with what was cut out as with the fact that what works on the printed page doesn't always work on screen, and this was like watching people literally acting out a comic. Weird.

I never read the comic, so I can't say. Still I found it pretty enjoyable. Someone on another forum pointed out that the best sequence was the title credits because that was one of the few times Snyder worked with his imagination based on said events rather than using the comic strip as a storyboard. I hope that comes to good use for MAN OF STEEL.

I had a free screening of Sucker Punch awhile back. Visually amazing but it just goes to show that Snyder is only as good as his screenplay and that screenplay had MAJOR problems. So I'm really hoping the Superman flick will have a quality script behind it as Cavil claims.

I agree with that. The opening credits were indeed the best part of the film.

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad was on TV earlier this afternoon. I hadn't seen it in a long time, Ray Harryhausen at his finest. Tom Baker as the villain (in the role that got him the part of The Doctor), Caroline Munro as the love interest, Martin Shaw as the comedy relief (Edit: oops, no he wasn't, he played a member of Sinbad's crew. The comedy relief guy had a curly perm like Doyle's, but wasn't him) and (I didn't know this until I looked up the film on Wikipedia) an uncredited cameo from Robert Shaw as the Oracle of All Knowledge. Add to that a screenplay by the great Brian Clemens and a Miklos Rosza score and you have a surprising array of talent for what was actually a low-budget movie.

Lincoln Lawyer wasn't sure about this one but it was a great old fashion Perry Mason kind of adventure

The Conspirator about Mary Surratt found out a few things I didn't know about her case, a little too fanciful with the facts but a good story. Found out later it was Roberts Redford's protest about Guantanamo Bay, as a protest it think it failed by a mile.

X-men first class pretty good except for professor x getting shot and is paralized, same problem I have with Wolverine movie he was shot in the head that is why he cat remember anything, when the comics had better explanations for both.

I voctched ze Battle of The Bulge about ze Ardennes offenzive in 1955. It starred Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson und Robert Shaw vith a comedy German accent and was good fun although historically inaccurate and filmed in ze California desert.

Dolphin Tale-it was a really good movie-saw it with my brother and his wife and a bunch of kids. Not ashamed to admit I teared up a few times watching it.
