It's such a shame that a very talented woman like her wasted her life like this. I'm sure Katied will be bringing out the champagne for this occasion.
Re: Amy Winehouse has died
No,I'm quite sad. I mean, it was almost predictable, but still, it's shocking

Re: Amy Winehouse has died
Tragic, predictable, still you know people seeing it happen before their eyes may help save someone else's life.

Ironically, she may have assured her immortality. Tortured artists who die young tend to become icons in the long term.

Not this one. Will be forgotten in one week, until Angelina Jolie does her life's story on film.

She was 27, which seems to be a cursed age for musicans. The BBC website had an article on other stars who died at the same age including Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain.

This was a surprise?
She wasn't that good a singer, either.

I liked a couple of her songs..it was just really difficult to look past the trainwreck that was her life.

Re: Amy Winehouse has died
Sad as her death is she did not make a big contribution to music she was media sideshow instead of a musician.

Re: Amy Winehouse has died
Absolutely not. When people constantly destroy their own lives with drugs they will succumb to tragic endings. In one week, she won't be in the news. She was never that famous and her life story WILL be done by Hollywood sooner rather than later. Count on it. Hendrix, Joplin, Cobain, all killed themselves on drugs at age 27 as well and that was their choice to exit that way.The Sweeney wrote:I was thinking that too.Kristatos wrote:That's a bit mean-spirited, innit?bjmdds wrote:Not this one. Re: Amy Winehouse has died
BJ,I wouldn't have put it the way you did, but she *did* destroy her life with drugs.
