Moore wants humour back in 007

Roger Moore is calling on movie bosses to inject "a little humour" into the next James Bond movie because Quantum of Solace was too serious.

Daniel Craig made his second outing as 007 in the 2008 blockbuster, but the film was largely panned by critics.

Moore is convinced a more humorous script for the next Bond picture will impress viewers like in the days he played the suave superspy.

He tells Britain's Daily Express, "It (Quantum of Solace) wasn't a great film by any means and the series does now really need a little humour again, as that is part of the charm of Bond."

The 23rd Bond movie was put on hold earlier this year after the MGM film studio fell into debt, but fans were given hope this week when company bosses announced a landmark deal to rescue the firm's finances.

It's good to inject humor but not too much.

Yes, coming from Moore, that could be interpreted as a call to return to the days of double-taking pigeons and Tarzan yells.

In Bond 23 Craig they could have a scene where Craig stabs and strangles lots of people doing his tough, gritty, serious face followed by a shot of a double taking pigeon.

Moore coming out to say they F'ed up if pretty bad.He was the one who wanted to take Craig home a nurse to health like a bird with a hurt wing.Moore sold out his fans and sold out Bond by trying to be polite in hindsight he sees a problem with the new Bond.Better late the never welcome to the party.Dalton and Moore were the Bonds to get criticized the most no wonder they feel the need to defend the new guy and support the Broccoli family no matter what even when the people who are upset are their own fans.

I think Sir Roger is just naturally a gentleman, and not the sort of person to criticise others in public.

Hopefully EON won't run with this and go back to the over-the-top humour(the double taking pigeon comes right to mind, as do soe of the more over the top elements). They could easily see it as an excuse to do so.

Moore was always a class act. I respect him for that. he lived up to the image and then some.
Too bad he didn't get why bond fans like me don't like the new age crap. He got caught up in the hype of fan are mean instead of realizing how it was david against Goliath and we were David, he was cheering for Goliath. People talk about what is wrong with Hollywood all the time and it comes down to people who trying to shut up those they don't agree with the industry, while the industry rolled on and blitzed the air waves to be sure they didn't lose money, old war dogs like Moore were brought in try to disarm the upset fans, the one the really bothered me was Dench chiding fans to mind their manners or get pop on the knuckles from a ruler.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

Hear, hear Sir Roger. The problem with Craig's films is that they are far too serious and gritty. Bond films are ment to be serious but fun at the same time.
