What's with producers considering Craig as the lead in 'Cowboys and Aliens' due out in 2011? Sounds as if these producers have not been watching the 'success' of Craig's other films. Can you imagine Craig in such a role?

So because some of Daniel Craigs films outside Bond have been less successful, does that mean that ALL of his films will fail to illuminate the box office?bjmdds wrote:What's with producers considering Craig as the lead in 'Cowboys and Aliens' due out in 2011? This is INCORRECT, as all the other Bond actors have at some point been in many box office failures. Not just Daniel Craig.
Cowboys and Aliens isn't going to fail just because Daniel Craig is invloved. FACT.

Just a quick note to say its good also to see 'Skywalker' back here.........just like me
i think its a case of waiting for news on Bond 23 to surface which will encourage people to come back here to discuss the news!!
On BO office news its amazing to see the returns for AVATAR internationally..........last time i looked,
it had passed $100 mil in France, China, UK, Germany and Russia, with a few other territories poised to reach that mark very soon.
The emergence of Russia and China on the worldwide stage film wise has certainly boosted Hollywoods takings
abroad.
Now only if Bond 23 can do that well, outside of the UK.

Dear John has squashed Avatar at the US box office this weekend. I was hoping Avatar could stay at the top spot for a little longer but oh well.English Agent wrote: On BO office news its amazing to see the returns for AVATAR internationally..........last time i looked,

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Craig’s first 2 Bond films have followed a similar path to Sir Roger’s. A well received initial entry followed by a below par second. Whilst I personally consider TMWTGG to be far superior to QOS, Moore’s career highlight is surely The Spy who loved me, so could Bond 23 be the making of Craig or the final nail in his Bond coffin?
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Like I said, if they're going to go the 3D route, Bond 23 needs to be a Lewis Gilbert-style spectacle. Eon should make a lighter Bond.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Difficult to prove one way or the other. None of Craig's post-CR non-Bond films has been a hit, but it's hard to tell whether Craig was a factor in that. Correlation doesn't prove causality, but non-correlation proves non-causality, so if CvA is a hit, we'll know that Craig isn't box office poison outside Bond. If it isn't, it won't prove that Craig sunk the film, but it might make casting directors think twice before casting him.Captain Nash wrote: Cowboys and Aliens isn't going to fail just because Daniel Craig is invloved. One thing we do know is that it would have been a lot more fun with Downey Jr rather than old stoneface.

Gerard Butler: I'd love to play James Bond
Actor says there have been lots of rumours
Sunday, 7 February 2010
The actor says there's been so many rumours about him starring as the iconic character that he'd now like to try it out for real.
'I'd love to play [James Bond], but it's been said so often, so inaccurately,' Gerard, 40, tells Now.
'I was in my flat in London, wrestling with a busted shower, and I heard a news report that I was going to be 007. I thought: ‘If only it were true, but I have to fix this shower.'

It's either that or Craig will be the franchise's final nail....and it might be sealed shut....permanently if this farce continues.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think Craig and EON might be in awkward position for Bond 23. Will they continue with the Quantum organisation and the thug-like Bond or do they approach it with a more comedic style?

Craig is INCAPABLE of any comedic style anything, anywhere, in any film. Not with that sour facial expression he casts. Comedic? Sweeney will jump off a nearby roof top if that happens.
