I am hoping he has voiced his concerns loud enough. Judging by the hiring of Morgan, and the attempt to hire Mendes, it is certainly a foot in the right direction.
Actually, it sounds like they're making exactly the same mistakes as last time, hiring people with no action movie experience in the hope of chasing that gold statuette they so desperately crave. It wouldn't surprise me if Bond 23 is titled For Your Consideration (can see me through the night)....

I'm not surprised DC was unhappy with the QoS reviews. We gave up posting the negative ones here because we couldn't keep up with them. I knew they were in big trouble with that film when Graham Rye stuck the boot in and gave it 0/10, complaining that they'd turned Bond into a blank Bourne type cypher - something we've been saying since 2006. Craig takes himself fairly seriously as an actor and has made his fortune now so one more film like QoS...

I know people who are projecting a softer Bond 23. And this is dangerous over all for the franchise, seeing as it bucked the recent trends of sequels growing the base further.
The States never took to Craig like they did with Brozza, even though he had a bigger opening weekend with QoS.

But Bond has never been about the States alone. It's one franchise which depends more on worldwide sales than what happens in the States. And worldwide sales, did Craig exceed Brozza's films?
I think you are misplacing a pronoun, Craig hasn’t actually grown anything. DAD was released in something like 64 countries and CR in around 80.

14 or 16 more counties than DAD had not taking in to account the growth in theater infrastructure in those countries previously release to. Those new countries generated around $16m (more than that probably around 20 to 25 m), consider that with rough inflation adjustment DAD is about a $560m film today ($589m if once source is correct)
What I am saying is in 4 years the Bond infrastructure expanded priming the franchise for the next installment, considering that the growth since hasn't really been that exciting, and the backwards decline in a open market without any heavy hitters for competition is a warning.

I'm not an expert, but I don't see Jackman as the huge box office draw you seem to think he is,
How about just an opinion. Jackman would probably be a bigger draw. His female fan base is absolutely rabid and that might bump the numbers for anything he is in a few million tickets, esp in the US.

Quark lost around 10m fans easily, a recast would probably bring them back, it always seems to, then they would have to build form there and not decline as dramatically as Quark did. Dalton was the last one to lose that many between first and second outing, which was about the same 9.7m. Some of it is the script and some of has to be attributed to the actor, in which case Brozza kept remarkable steady and some one like Jackman would probably maintain audience good will through even mediocre movies (**cuagh**Wolverine**) excuse me

I have to correct you there. He gave it 1/10.

According to Dark Horizons, Sherlock Holmes has taken $191.6m in the US and is still in the top ten which means it should clear $200m. When a Sherlock Holmes film is a bigger draw than a James Bond film in the US you must suspect that Eon are not making as much money as they should be. I know Robert Downey Jr is very good but he's not a box office superstar.

Isn't he considered a fan whose opinion people listen to? For a fan(and not a casual one, either) to pan it is a sign of something.

I think the likes of Graham Rye slating QoS also says something about how well CR was received. If you read his review on CR it paints a very different picture.
The reason why Rye was so disappointed is because it failed in comparison on the back of CR - which he loved.

I find bad reviews from huge fans of the series rather telling.

Yet, when the EVIL[/sarcasm]Empire and Total Film pan Bond films and, IMO tell the truth it sets a lot of Bond fans off. They're called movie *critics* for a reason.

Empire gave CR and QoS 4 stars (I think they now give CR 5 stars) and Total Film has just voted CR the reboot of the decade.

Empire and Total Film haven't always been so kind to the Bond films... thus the reason they're so disliked by Bond fans :?

Really? Who dislikes them? They loved Craig as Bond, so it can't be the MI6 gang who dislike them.

I've said this once and I'll say it again(I've been saying that a LOT lately) Total Film and Empire save me a LOT of money. I know what's good, and what to avoid. If they want to pan a James Bond movie(or anything Craig's in-pretty much predictable it's going to get a bad review) then it's their perogative.

Then she should start debating properly, stop trolling, start reading properly what members write, and respond accordingly.
And stop having an obsession with MI6, and what the folks over there are doing.

Everyone here knows katied is still a huge fan of Craig, and the only reason she is here is to get back at MI6 - God knows why!! Stop pretending otherwise.

It's only down to the high tolerance and good nature of the mods here that she is still around. If I had been a mod here she would have been booted out a long time ago.
