Anything else would be a disappointment for me. One of the reasons why I loved CR so much is because it used the source material for large chunks of the movie. If EON have the balls to do the same with Bond 23, then I would have no problems at all with this new reboot direction we are in.
I agree, but I just can not see it happening. I must be too jaded after QoS and too cynical of the producers who f-ed everything up.
Likewise mate. I know how you feel. I loved LTK, then hated every movie churned out under Brozza's reign, and then fell in love with Bond again when CR came out.

But I knew deep down it would be too good to last. I thought at the time CR would be a one-off fluke, and they wouldn't be able to pull it off a second time. I'm just hoping they've taken on board the heavy criticism that QoS came under, and try to rectify it the right way in Bond 23.

I actually fell for all their talk of big plans and story arc starting from CR that should have insured steady stable quality for the next few films. They had everything planned out and knew where they were going. Then my eyes were Clockwork Oranged with QoS, it became apparent they had no clue what to do and then they start talking about a fresh start not bothering to finish the trilogy they promised which might have salvaged CR from the coupled train-wreck QoS.

I am quite glad to see universal condemnation here for QOS. Only on the other sites such as MI6 and Cb.net are there positive reactions to such rubbish. Re-Rebooting Bond now would be overkill coming off Craig's 8 minute prequel sequence in CR, in 2006. Yet, Amy Pascal is rebooting Spiderman only 10 years after it's original film aired. If a reboot was done correctly by Eon, Henry Cavill should have been chosen with Bond not yet working with M. Now, Cavill would look quite out of place after Craig as a re-reboot concept. What Eon needs to do is can Craig and give Hugh Jackman  his price and make 4 films with him then decide about a re-reboot 8-10 years from now. Cubby would have grabbed Jackman as Bond for this decade. Broccoli must still have eyes for Craig who is loathesome in the role.

Bond fans can be obsessive given the right circumstances.I'm not even close to being obsessive. I just find it ridiculous how Morgan's statement has been seized upon and obssessed on-though I have to say it doesn't surprise me.
OK, my curiosity got the better of me and I went over to MI6 to see what they were saying about this story. It's true that the thread on it is a long one (24 pages at the time of writing this), but most of that is down to thread drift and jokey "shocking plot" suggestions. Without trawling through the whole thread, it looks like the last serious speculation on it was before Christmas. It doesn't look to me like MI6ers are as obsessed with this announcement as you are.

I'm curious as to why some seem so set on Dame Judi's M being killed off in Broccoli Cheese(Bond 23). I really wonder what is SO offensive about her(other than that she is a female M which seems to rub a lot of fanbo,I mean people, the wrong way?) She hasn't done anything I would find offensive- Dame Judi is teh bomb. But recently the vitriol aimed at her is surprising.

Perhaps the conditions were right for a successful one-off special Bond movie: the radically different Bond; the origin/young Bond element; the use of the Casino Royale source material. These conditions resulted in a fresh movie that lots of fans and general cinemagoers enjoyed. Eon can't seem to recreate another different stlye of Bond movie and may have to go back to the old formula which will expose Craig even more.

Good point Sir Dom!
They can make oneoffs all they like just don't pretend to me that it is what Bond was supposed to be. They could do a whole series of oneoffs with different takes and different actors.

Who knows with new owner may come with new demands, Eon's tired techinque of making films me be driven off in favor of more productive modern methods. I could foresee new owners getting stronger grip on the series possibly making two series at once as long as there is a market it, in part to drive the cost of purchase down.
Far as fan base goes I think WB for instance would know how work things more productivity, which might include their own fan forum, watch out MI6!

A new owner(and possibly a better Bond film) would be welcome.Screw stepping on Babs and Mikey's(but more Babs' than anything else) toes!

Whatever. I noticed you cleverly ignored Kris's post, where he said he checked the MI6 thread, to see if they were obsessed like what you say they are, and......

Suprise suprise! What do you know. There is no obsession on there. The only person obsessing about the `shocking plot' aspect is you.

Like I said: why are fans so pissed off at Dame Judi that they want her M killed?

Because she's a female M? That is a LAME excuse. :cuss:

a certain segment of Bond fans are way too fixated on certain things-whether it be the gender of the current M or whether they should bring back(delete as applicable) Moneypenny/Q/Blofeld.

We have a new word! Such fun! :D Austin Powers-ization :D

I'm sure when production on Broccoli Cheese(Bond 23) starts(when that happens  ) and bits of information start coming out that that will be a well used phrase here!

And a certain fan lady is too fixated and obsessed by what goes on at another board - namely MI6.
By the sounds of it, you spend more time over there than you do here.
