Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Hugh Jackman is only 40 now. He turns 41 in October. If Eon is to correct their mistake, he is the only main actor out there to fill the role quite well and be utilized for at least 4 films. He looks MUCH younger than 41 year old Craig, and would be a perfect fit at this point in time(no Owen or Bale). After Jackman, 8 years will have passed and alternate candidates would be looked out. Right now, for me, it's Jackman all the way for 4 straight films with a male M,Q, Moneypenny, and a proper action director with a script(not a Haggis piece) loaded with gadgets and a fantasy plot combating world domination......not a water supply
. Do it now Eon, or all could be lost. It's time to rid Bond of this hideous farce being perpetrated on the public viewer.

Jude Law would have to wear a wig; he's balding ala Connery. Russell Crowe is handsome,in a scruffy sort of way.

Tell me about this Cavill guy if you know him. He is unknown in the USA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKqFMxdN ... re=related A pleasure to see a Bond-like actor. He will be 26 in May. Jackman should do Bonds 23-26 then have Cavill replace him and order will be restored to the force. MI6, CB.net, Alt007, and all of the other forums will come together as one.

Born Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill
5 May 1983 (1983-05-05) (age 25)
Jersey, Channel Islands
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill (born 5 May 1983) is a British actor.
Cavill was born in Jersey and was educated at St. Michael's Preparatory School on the Island, before attending Stowe School, a boarding school, where he acted in many plays.
Henry Cavill involved himself with European dramatic plays during his early acting career. Cavill's first film appearances include one of 2002's successful dramatics, an adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. Then the following year, he acted in the nouveau film I Capture the Castle (2003). He flew to Hollywood to be in an experimental High-Def movie entitled Red Riding Hood (2004). Additionally, he acted in a completely different and dark looking Hellraiser: Hellworld that was released in 2005. Soon he took on a difficult portrayal in a largely shot on location in Ireland, 2006 mainstream film version of Tristan & Isolde.
Henry Cavill auditioned for the lead role in Batman Begins but lost out to Christian Bale. Henry was also the cause of a write-in effort of fans to see him cast as Cedric in a Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Cavill auditioned for the role of Superman in Superman Returns, and was reportedly under heavy consideration before the October 2004 casting of Brandon Routh. In 2005, he became a young contender for the role of James Bond, and performed in a final screentest. The producers and director were torn between Henry Cavill, Daniel Craig, and Sam Worthington. Apparently the director favoured Henry Cavill as a younger version of James Bond, roving about the parlors in Casino Royale. However, the producers believed Cavill was too young for the role, which then went to Daniel Craig. In the December 2005 edition of Empire Magazine, he was dubbed "...the most unlucky man in Hollywood".
Cavill then landed a leading role in the Showtime series The Tudors (2007) playing the historical character of Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, brother-in-law to Henry VIII of England and supporter of Queen Catherine of Aragon. He also landed a minor part in the fantasy film Stardust (2007). In 2007 he was featured in Vanity Fair's Hollywood's Next-Gen Men article.
During pre-production for the film adaptation of the book entitled Twilight, some film professionals and fans thought Henry Cavill was perfect for the leading man. Author Stephenie Meyer was outspokenly in favor of Henry Cavill to become the actor for movie portrayal of Edward Cullen. When the movie version of Twilight was finally filmed, Henry was 24 and no longer could portray a youth of 17.
In early 2008, Cavill was featured Dunhill fragrance advertising. The television ad features a suited up Cavill walking through the Union Jack flag, before mounting a helicopter.
Henry Cavill plays lead character Evan Marshall during the Joel Schumacher directed thriller, Creek (2009).
Henry Cavill is the romantic leading man in the Woody Allen comedy entitled, Whatever Works (2009).
Henry Cavill is selected to be a primary character leading man in a mythic special effects movie called War of the Gods (2010). In fact, at the early planning phase Henry Cavill is notably the only actor selected for this movie. An IMDB editorial commentary from an interview with this movie's popular director Tarsem Singh is posted to this fact, on January 23, 2009.

Cavill also had a small part in the movie Stardust. I mention this in the hope that it encourages some people here to see it, because it tanked at the box office, and I think it deserved better.

I haven't seen Stardust but the director seems to be a mild fan favourite to do a Bond film one day.

That pic of Cavill, he looks waaay too feminine and pretty boy to be Bond. He even makes Brozza look rugged!
I don't think Jackman would be ideal either. Gerad Butler would be a much better option, IMO.
As it stands now, only Butler would come close to bettering Craig as Bond, IMO.

I think that's mostly because of his youth. I suspect that in another 10 years, say, he may have matured into a Bond look. The Sweeney wrote:That pic of Cavill, he looks waaay too feminine and pretty boy to be Bond. He even makes Brozza look rugged!![]()

He'll be in his thirties by the time we get rid of Craig. I don't think it takes a great leap of imagination to picture Cavill as Bond. It'll be interesting to see what retrospective comments are made about DC if we have a more traditionally handsome 007 next time.

Butler is a bit awkward to be Bond for me and his accent is very intense as well, but would be better than the character currently in the role, hands down!

I've wondered why so many saw him as a good fit for Bond. He is a compelling actor so he does have that. Compared to Craig he would be more than acceptable.bjmdds wrote:Butler is a bit awkward to be Bond for me and his accent is very intense as well, but would be better than the character currently in the role, hands down!
