I for one will be watching Owen in Sin City 2!! He's a great actor. The International is a mild flop, it would seem. It had some production problems. It's a low budget, adult movie, so it will not lose a great deal of money.

Clive, like James Bond, will be back.

'My name's Bond, James Bond'.

I'm not going to write Clive off as an actor, but he's too old for Bond, for sure. That and the fact he has said he doesn't want the job. That's why it always amazes me when people suggest him for the next Bond.

Hillary Clinton said she wanted to be Senator a second term in New York. One month after her re-election, she announced she was running for president. NEVER believe what these actors or politicians say for you will be surprised by their actions instead of expecting it.

It is more than a mild flop Roger. It's already dead and buried at the box office with a $50 million budget, not counting marketing it. I guess it's back to KONG roles for lovely Naomi.

Yup. I have a feeling that even when he's past it ,looks wise though isn't he *now* to some degree? :P Craig could charm his way into being Bond a bit longer.Lord knows Babs Broccoli wouldn't mind :P

The fact that Owen himself said he didn't want to play Bond, and the fact that The International is not a Bond film begs me to ask, why it bothers you so bj?
Why would it be a big regret for him?
Just because one film has been a flop in the US, is his career over?

Welcome to the land of bjmdds. A place where no-one changes their mind. Where everything has one mind. Where Pierce Brosnan is still James Bond. Where EON listen to one of millions of fans. And where there budget is big enough to pay off individual members of internet forums to say nice things about them.
And 3...2...1, you're back in the room again.

For every movie like Eastern Promises that Naomi Watts has done, she's done several as bad as King Kong.

Daniel Craig readily admits that a lot of his pre- BOND films were crap- after he got the Bond gig, when he would see them on the shelves at Blockbuster he would hide them :?

I'm glad he admits they're crap. The fact that he tried to hide them in the past, though... :?

Sir Allen Stanford would make a great Bond villian. I bet he has an underground base in Antigua.

Yes, but from what I understand, Owen was offered the role several times and turned it down.

Daniel Craig just presented an Oscar (for best art direction). Wonder if that means that EON will sign him up to play Bond?

So BJ hasn't given his praise for Jackman as host yet. As for my thoughts on him: They should just get Billy Crystal to host the Oscars till the day he dies.

I only saw part of the awards ceremony. Jackman seemed fine as host, but after seeing him in a tux, I have rather gone off the idea of him as Bond. Can't put my finger on why, he just didn't have that "Bond aura" about him. And before anyone accuses me of jumping ship, let me add that Daniel Craig was so wooden in the three Oscars that he presented, I wondered whether he was an actor or a prop.

The Oscars were interesting, I thought. Different producers, and they made a LOT of changes to the awards that should stick around in future years.

Craig is always wooden, which makes it even more surprising that he has presented at the Oscars so many times :P I spotted him in the audience pretty early on in the show.

I wasn't looking. If he was in "luvvie" mode, he might have put a bit more life into his presentation. As things stood, he had the bored air of a schoolboy forced to stand up before the class and repeat what the teacher just said as a punishment for not paying attention.

I did not see the Oscars. Some times it's live on the BBC - as you will know!), but this year it was live on Sky pay TV. :cuss:

It seems like he was a bit wooden from your description.

Didn't Hugh Jackman get the Oscars job because of his performance presenting some theatre awards?
