You're right. I apologize. BJ was right about CR ending up as a one-off for Craig because it was impossible that he and his film would ever end up successful...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
In 2011 Nancy Sinatra could be rebooted to sing the title track for Bond 23. It will go something like this: "You Only Bourne Twice, or so it seems, one storyline for Damon, and one for Eon's dreams....... Eon will drift through the years, and all seems the same, until one spy movie reappears, and Bourne is his name........Originality is a stranger, who'll beckon Eon on, don't think of the mimicry, for Bond, is now gone........ this dream is for Eon, they'll pay the price, make one dream come true, DON'T make YOU ONLY BOURNE TWICE"

LOL They should wait and put out the next Bourne movie at the same time as Bond 23 so we can have a fail-off at movie theaters.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Eon will first have to see what Greengrass is thinking before their final decision is made. It was NO coincidence that Eon said a rest was needed, once they heard Damon might return for a 4th but not right away......

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Eh, Greengrasshole is about oneupmanship. He's also the one that tells his actors to go around parroting his party line about how crap the Bond films are.

There was a time there would have been no comparison warranted......from 1962-2002......

Matt Daaaamon
is an idiot. It's * bizarre* that that story got found and reposted/rehashed again though.

The Dark Knight is playing in more theatres now (350) than QOS is
(272), and it took in $660,000 over this past weekend as compared to $224,000 for QOS, in the USA.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Plus, The Dark Knight is on *video*, so people could choose to rent it if they wanted to,but they're choosing to see it at the movie theater. That says something. 350 to 272 is that not big of a margin, but I'd be willing to bet that QOS is only playing once or twice a day at those theaters.

Because TDK delivered. It gave people more of what they expected from Batman Begins.bjmdds wrote:The Dark Knight is playing in more theatres now (350) than QOS is(272), and it took in $660,000 over this past weekend as compared to $224,000 for QOS, in the USA.
EON's biggest mistake was to take Bond in a different direction after CR. People expected more of the same in QoS (including me), but unfortunately it didn't deliver.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yep. And they're taking their time putting out Bond 23 which I hope means they'll come up with something good. But after QOS I'm a littke skepticalEON's biggest mistake was to take Bond in a different direction after CR. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Unlike some here.........my beef is not with Craig, but with the Bond films themselves.
EON have played about with the Bond formula quite a bit in the last three films.............so they should know by now what works and doesn't with the public.
Hopefully Bond 23, will be a well constructed Bond film with an engaging script and a more conventional approach to film making, as has been the case in the past.
If not.......then i will be very annoyed, and will pay a visit to BB in the small hours of the night and stick a bat up her nightdress!!
Incidently, i see 'Taken' is released in the US this weekend.............its a short, but surprisingly good film, and Liam Neeson turns in a very good performance as a vengeful father........go see, you won't be dissapointed.

Some would say they have played about too much with the Bond films as of late..like I said, I'm taking a wait and see attitude.
Taken looks really good;I might have to see it,I like Liam Neeson(but he'll always be Oskar Schindler,in my mind

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Some of you may find this interesting. I nicked this off another *cough* Bond *cough* forum.....
I don´t undersatand why some people is so obsessed with inflation (tickets). In 2002 theatres had more admissions than in 2006, and in 2006 thatres had more admissions than today. The cinema is not what it used to be. You can see that in this link:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/
In addition, a lot of sagas or cinematical series get more money (not only inflated) in their first chapter than after; just look at Spider-Man, Super Man, Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Harry Potter. So the fact that every Bond movie since 1995 has grossed more than the previous one in North America is a signal of good health.

I hope that's true. Especially, with the current global economic crisis. I hope "James Bond will return.."The Sweeney wrote:Some of you may find this interesting. I nicked this off another *cough* Bond *cough* forum.....

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It will return - Eon can always change the character and tone of the Bond movies. Everyone agrees that the morose, one note tough Bond that Craig invented has run it's course after Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. so Eon have to get tweaking. Which includes hiring...HUGO JACKMAN.LilleOSC wrote:I hope that's true. Especially, with the current global economic crisis. Oh lord, now it seems we have two people holding out for an event that's never going to happen.
"We have to leave"
"We can't leave"
"Why not?"
"We're waiting for Jackman"
