TBM did more box office business the opening Friday in the USA then it did the ENTIRE second weekend. TBM will not generate significant revenue over Thanksgiving because it is a 'turkey', will all the dressings.

The problem with criticism now and then is they ignored the things they don't like now. They probably thought they could let it slid becasue it go back to normal the next movie, which is what the majority of movie goers were expecting. With most movie goers undecided if Craig was Bond his next movie was very very important and the direction of Quark was a major misstep.

QoS is nothing like CR, which was an instant classic with almost everyone - mainly because it was a brilliant film. It would still have been a brilliant film with Brosnan in it, anyone in it basically. It was the first film since 1969 to closely follow a Fleming novel as much as possible in 2006.

The faults in QoS are to do with shaky cam, Bourne influences, lack of storyline, too rushed. Nearly all critics have picked up on this. None of it really is to do with the leading actor playing Bond. This film would still be a disappointment had it starred Brosnan instead.

I agree that just about anyone form Sean Bean to Robert Conrad would of had good BO with CR.
I do not agree with CR closely followed the Fleming's Novel.

It just didn't feel like a Bond film.

To describe Craig as Bond, I would say he is very good at taking Bond in totally the wrong direction. He actually looks better when he is bloodied and battered, and his hair is messed up than when smartly dressed. At times he looks so old, pasty and glum and just not what you want to see.It's hard to imagine this guy pulling the ladies.

Following QOS I really don't think EON can continue with this style of film. Forster certainly should never be hired again to do a Bond film.

Hopefully, they will hire an action director next time. Hiring directors of character-based dramas in order to "humanise" the franchise sounds like a good idea on paper, but it didn't work in TWINE and it doesn't seem to have worked here. Yes, I know Lewis Gilbert was best known for Alfie before he did Bond, but he had done war movies and the like as well.

QOS is action driven and action orientated, yet the weakest segments of the film are the action scenes.

There are plenty of excellent 'action' type directors out there who would have improved QOS. I hope the next installment ditches the sadistic, remorseless and un-necessary killings and instead adopts a few Bond traits.

Eon has shown great common sense, don't you think? Next time, how about Rowdy Herrington of Roadhouse fame? Winehouse back in the hospital. If they charged her tolls to enter these hospitals, they could wipe out global poverty. Sick girl.
