Can you "put lipstick on a pig" EA and call it a masterpiece?Arthur Brain wrote:Don't forget chaps that even though QOS did finally make less less than TBU, it did make more money per theatre than TBU, plus Bourne was release in over more than 200 theatres............so the 'Sweeney' does have a point.
Please get your facts right!.........plus Bourne is far less popular abroad than Bond by a massive margin.
Blimey.....you peolpe always find a negative point of view!........r u really Bond fans?

To stop QOS tumbling in the US ''BJ'', then you'd better go and see it. I'am sure it would please DC!!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
DC and I should meet face to face already. We would have some chat.
As for the free tickets, there has been mention of Eon giving them but I am unaware of this and I am curious where that thought came from if anyone knows.

^I'm kinda surprised BJ hasn't seen QOS yet
It might not be his cup of tea but I'd be interested to hear what he thinks of it just the same.

I'm not sure. But maybe it's about the free tickets I mention in conjunction with October release of the new Bond DVDs and Blu-rays. That was Sony effort not Eon. Eon was probably upset about it. I would be.Arthur Brain wrote:Err?.........Don't understand this bit about free tickets.......i've never mentioned it?bjmdds wrote:Can you "put lipstick on a pig" EA and call it a masterpiece?Arthur Brain wrote:Don't forget chaps that even though QOS did finally make less less than TBU, it did make more money per theatre than TBU, plus Bourne was release in over more than 200 theatres............so the 'Sweeney' does have a point.

Universal have bought the exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and plan a James Bond type franchise now according to numerous stories.

I hope they don't make Jason Bourne into a James Bond type character.James wrote:Universal have bought the exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and plan a James Bond type franchise now according to numerous stories.

Talk about taking a good idea and ruining it completely.Especially if they're full of the same Greengrass shaky cam.Even with the occasional so-so film,Bond is better than Bourne will ever be.FormerBondFan wrote:I hope they don't make Jason Bourne into a James Bond type character.James wrote:Universal have bought the exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and plan a James Bond type franchise now according to numerous stories.

Not any more it isn't. At least there is a something to make up for the fact that Eon have stopped making Bond films.katied wrote:Talk about taking a good idea and ruining it completely.Especially if they're full of the same Greengrass shaky cam.Even with the occasional so-so film,Bond is better than Bourne will ever be.FormerBondFan wrote:I hope they don't make Jason Bourne into a James Bond type character.James wrote:Universal have bought the exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and plan a James Bond type franchise now according to numerous stories.

That's your opinion *shrug* I won't defend QOS,because even *I* see it's faults(and there are a few)In my review, I admitted that I could see where the complaints about the Bourne stuff came from. That's not nitpicking,it's the truth.

Only After they run out of ideas. Which will be awhile, 20 films is my guessFormerBondFan wrote:I hope they don't make Jason Bourne into a James Bond type character.James wrote:Universal have bought the exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and plan a James Bond type franchise now according to numerous stories.
They haven't even tapped the Ludlum's Bourne stories yet and now there is a writer continuing the Ludlum series.
I think there is a possibility another studio will come out with their own Spy frachise in the image of the classic Bond series and Fleming's connoisseur. I suspect when this happens Eon will then return to their first love and truest desire and make football movies starting Craig as washed up, hard luck quarterback trying to make a comeback.

As long as it's not something like more crappy Austin Powers movies, why not?

The only people who took AP seriously were Eon.katied wrote:As long as it's not something like more crappy Austin Powers movies, why not?
Why bother suing over the name GoldMember? Eon had weird, sick fascination with all things AP.

There are rumors about another Austin Powers movie(but mostly without Austin)- talk about a bad idea!
