Mamma Mia has been very successful........particularly in the UK where its weekly takings have held up very high over a long run.............But, the reason it was successful is because people love ABBA........i mean its good to see PB in the film,
but he wasn't the main draw, the same for Mrs Doubtfire in which the story and Robin Williams were the main attraction.

of running time (est at around 106 min).

Blimey.......that is short........considering CR went on forever.

I get the impression that QOS will be a very fast paced movie, without the type of slow scenes as were in CR such as the poker game and Bonds recovery towards the end.

Mind you thats still a short running time........maybe Forster didn't like some of his film

AB :typing:
TBU's running time=111 minutes;TBM's running time =146 minutes. No mimicry? Coincidence? NO WAY. The most expensive Bond film will be the shortest in history? Poor song, and shortest film, for the shortest actor ever to portray Bond! Look for non-stop bloodied violence and no line, "Bond, James Bond". It was omitted as well from the script. They hope to have more screenings per day ala TBU, hence the shortest film ever;however, they might not get the return customers as CR did for this ridiculous fiasco! Sweeney, 'you ain't gonna like this film as you did CR'.

Simply admit Brosnan is more successful than Craig outside of the Bond franchise.

He was successful before GE.

Agreed. For it to be a coincidence, the running times would actually have to be, you know, the same.

According to the Guardian the running time is 100 minutes. It's shrinking by the day.

Probably just one of the infamous Grauniad typos.

I hear it's 106 minutes, just four minutes shy away from Goldfinger. But we'll see. Forster has said his film would be at least a maximum of 120 minutes so we can expect a shorter running time if he feels like certain scenes should be omitted.

I will, when he's starring in a successful non-film front and center as the one main draw card. For now, his non-Bond career is no different than his predecessors or Craig's.

100/106 minutes is amazingly brief.
I'm rather disappointed why bother going to the mall to watch this? It should be included as a bonus feature on the new CR Blu-ray .

Consider at 106 minutes 3 to 5 of those minutes are theme music and graphics and intros, 6 to 8 minutes are closing titles. 96 minutes of actual movie, 1hr 36 minutes.

I hope this is a typo becasue I consider a Bond movie should be 2hours. I think that fans expect it and deserve it regardless of good or bad movie/actor.
Maybe it is my mistake for taking the Brocs at their word that this is a "Bond" movie. If these reports are correct then this is Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay territory.

Bond's ending titles are shorter than a lot of today's films but that has to do with the fact that on the main titles they still list tech crew that would likely appear at the ending credits of other films. Besides, 8 minute ending credits are usually because every film these days likes to just show the title at the beginning and then start the film immediately, leaving every single credit for the end.

I didn't realize YOLT was that short, but then again no wonder it felt longer than two hours, it's one of the most boring Bond films of the series.

After the bloated CR, I'm rather relieved by this, actually. But then, I like 90-minute movies and 2-minute pop songs. I guess I just have a short attention span.

They used to be about 1 min (TB DN), I think they are about 4 to 5 min now.

106 minutes does seem like a paltry running time for a James Bond film and they did promise that this one would be full of wall to wall action. Casino Royale was 144 minutes long off the top of my head.

I was expecting a film around 120 mins............106 is short, considering it took them 6 months to shoot
the film, makes you wonder if that was the original intention to make it this short!
Well as long as the film is top notch quality, then it should be OK.

Just thought you might like to know........that according to a report posted at 'CBn' with an interview with BB,
DC will be starring again in Bond 23, and the next few films. Bond 23 will have a completely new story!

Nice to hear something about Bond 23, does it say whether it will be released on 2010 or the year after for a break?

A nice as you might consider it to be, you can't count on it. Before and after DAD the producers, namely BB, gushed all over Pierce promising a new Bond adventure featuring Pierce would be coming shortly. They talked out of both sides of their mouths for three years until finally settling on the reboot.

Personally I would not count on anything they say until production starts.
