Really? Do we need to post the youtube videos of Craig's gay scenes?

You say even Brosnan had at least one poster where he didn't look pleased, fine here are his posters. In none of them does he(or his BGs) look as miserable and despondent as Craig.

In one month the UKers will get their first glimpse of TBM. We await your opinions, which could affect how we see it in the USA 14 days later. By then, Sweeney may have seen it 4 times, Nash three times and EA five times? We will have no frame of reference given our 14 day blackout here, unless bootleg DVDs turn up on the streets of Manhattan.

Either way, I like it and I'm sure you guys will too. :P
Eh, it's not my favorite. But I can see why others would like it.
A quantum of solace? Look at Craig's expression above the title. It rings out ANGER and FRUSTRATION, not solace....maybe "sole-less", that I will agree with.

If QOS is really good then i may see it 3 times at most.
Usually if a film is really good i might see it twice, as quite often you will miss various little plot
details, by being so engaged by the film in its first viewing.
I did see CR 4 times, which in reality was 1 time too many, as i had fully absorbed the film by then.

I find it amazing how some people will see a film many times over in such a short period of time.....
i mean there must be a point where you dont gain any enjoyment from the viewings due to over
saturation.

I remember when i was posting at 'CBn' during the theatrical run of CR.............there was a member
there, a lady (teacher form Bakersfield, California).......who stated numerous times that she saw the
film a mind numbing 31 times at the theatre, by the end of the films run.

Anyway, i hope to see QOS on opening night.............then i will post a fair review of the film (obviously
without spoilers) for our overseas members here. :D

I think I've only ever seen a few films in the cinema more than once, and that was back in the days of double bills, when a new film would sometimes be twinned with an older film that I had already seen the first time round. The only film I remember seeing more than once that wasn't part of a double bill was Batman (the Tim Burton one) and that was because someone else treated me.

TBU did $69 million opening weekend in the USA. Mama Mia did $141 million total in the USA. Can TBM top either in the USA? By the way, with only a $52 million budget, Mama Mia did over $450 million worldwide, with over $63 million in the UK!. I guess Brosnan's draw IS greater than Craig's worldwide.

Right, it couldn't have been Abba's music, it couldn't be that it's based off a popular musical, it couldn't be that there were other big names in the cast, and even though Mamma Mia made $450 worldwide while CR made $594 worldwide Brosnan still wins that aspect anyway, so all and all it had to be Pierce Brosnan and him alone to draw out the crowd. Right BJ?

:?:
DAD US BO was $160,900,000, 2002 numbers. (which still beats CRs US ticket sales)
Worldwide DAD made $456,000,000, 2002 numbers. Mamma Mia $450,796,507.
It is close and Mamma Mia will eventually beat DADs 2002 numbers, however DAD will have sold more tickets.

Correction: It was previously Mrs. Doubtfire that was his highest grossing film. In inflation, it still is.

Just about the numbers, DAD in 2006 dollars is $520,000,000 film, CR was an improvement, however between them it is not as great as a $150,000,000 difference.

It looks like Mamma Mia is Brosnan's first post-Bond blockbuster though his other post-Bond films are successful (except Laws of Attraction).

 how could that be? Doubtfire was 1993 film, years before he became Bond?
But yeah, Doubtfire is $450,000,000 film, in 1993 dollars.

Mamma Mia only cost $52m to make and will make close to $500 before it's run is done. This is what Hollywood like to see, this is the kind of business that keeps theater doors open.

Bond movies (and others) have a high production costs, start off around $300m in the hole.
Spider-man 3 cost $260m, add another 100m to the cost for promotional considerations and you still make money but not as much profit as a under $100m film that hits big.

He said "Mamma Mia just beat DAD as the highest grossing movie Brosnan starring in" so I was assuming he meant as in the most successful film Brosnan starred in, which is Mrs. Doubtfire. I don't have the numbers, but I can imagine a film made a decade earlier with numbers bigger than DAD's, especially in the US, could mean that by adjustion it is the most successful film in his resume.

Mamma Mia has been very successful........particularly in the UK where its weekly takings have held up very high over a long run.............But, the reason it was successful is because people love ABBA........i mean its good to see PB in the film,
but he wasn't the main draw, the same for Mrs Doubtfire in which the story and Robin Williams were the main attraction.

They have sing-along Mama Mia at some of the movie theaters around here 8)

When I saw it,the audience was made up almost exclusively of women.Definitely a chick flick.

Just read at some other Bond sites..............that it has been announced that QOS will be the shortest Bond film, in terms
of running time (est at around 106 min).

Blimey.......that is short........considering CR went on forever.

I get the impression that QOS will be a very fast paced movie, without the type of slow scenes as were in CR such as the poker game and Bonds recovery towards the end.

Mind you thats still a short running time........maybe Forster didn't like some of his film

Now, see I thought CR needed the scenes with Bond recovering. To me, it would have been clunky if they had gone from Bond being tortured,to him completely recovered[/soapboax]
