I don't know that much about the script yet. I'm trying to avoid as many spoilers as possible. I'd rather judge the film properly when I see it in the cinema, script an' all.
Where is the photo you have of a left handed Bond from?
I can't remember now where I got it.

Interesting bj, that for once you have referred to Craig as Bond. Are you finally warming to him....

Just like I am to Hillary Clinton. That is a peculiar photo with Craig a left handed Bond, although I am not too surprised given Craig's unusual look to begin with. What's next, Bond with a beard?

Didn't he look sort of rough during some of the scenes in CR at the hospital(the scene where he wakes up and the scene with Mathis come to mind)

Depends how the message is delivered. I'm not opposed to political messages per se, but I can't stand preachiness, especially in a supposedly escapist movie. I won't go and see Oiver Stone movies, for example, not because I necessarily disagree with what he is saying, but because I find his self-importance and humourlessness grating.

Sweeney's signature is photoshopped. There is no such picture of Craig holding a gun left handed. The picture is simply a photo of Craig's head pasted on someone elses. Besides, wouldn't it be professional and efficient of Bond to use both hands trained for guns as opposed to just one?

Here's the origin of the sig.

Speaking of Stone, he is releasing a $30 million movie about Bush the week prior to the USA election with none other than Barbara Streisand's step-son, Josh Brolin,of all people, in the role. :x Coincidence, or arrogance, by Stone, Kris?

What's wrong with Josh Brolin? :|

As for the gritty scene, I wouldn't call it gritty, more like cold blooded. It's a good scene, shame it was ruined once Bond started grinning like a child in the next scene acting like he never lost a woman he had deep feelings who got killed no less than five minutes... :x

It's a good 8 seconds of Fleming Bond in 2 hours of crap. I mean is a spy really supposed to show up at a club, pronounce his name loud enough for everyone to hear and then just jump on Carver telling him he knows the score about his sattelites throwing off ships?

Brosnan: "Hey Carver, I know you're throwing off ships and all!"
Carver: "What an imagination, you should write a book."
Brosnan: "Oh I'd be lost at sea... ADRIFT!"
Carver: "......."
Carver Thug: "You got a call."
Brosnan: "OH? Okay!"
*stupidly walks in front the thugs so they could get a good wack on Bond's head*

I know you guys like to berate Craig's Bond for blowing up an embassy but in TND he's supposed to be a fully experienced agent right? :P At least Brosnan learned his lesson by walking into hotels in his PJs, pot belly exposed and all... Oh wait.

I agree. These brief, fleeting moments showed potential of how Brosnan could have been as Bond. Sadly we will never know whether he could have pulled off a 2 hour movie in this vain.

I know alot of fans love that scene, but I hate it. It's crap. Okay so it's not bad Bond, infact Pierce is quite good, but to have a cartoon character to play alongside ruins any sense of tension or drama imo.
Kauffman is basically a foolish character, a paid assassin of Carvers. It's lines like "I could shoot you from stuttgart and still create the proper effect." or "Arggghhhh Stamper stop yelling in my ear ya." That let it all down.
Gritty, maybe in some peoples eyes. To me, it's just not that good a scene at all.
A far better scene, that Brosnan plays well is when he's sat in his hotel. Drinking shots of vodka, walther at his side, awaiting Carvers goons. That's Bond, and Brosnan was good when he was allowed to.
Another gritty Brosnan scene (imo) is when he's in the bankers office at the start of TWINE, I feel again Pierce gives us his James Bond, instead of Pierce Brosnan giving us a cross between Connery and Moore...but playing it more like the latter for the most part. Even the begining of DAD when he's taken to the DMZ to be shott,he shows of Bondian characteristics, and plays it well. Only to be let free because of the trade with Zao. After that all the tension goes out the window.
But there are many times during Pierce's time as Bond that he played Bond. To bad that he wasn't allowed to more often, because imo he was a good Bond, who was popular with fans and the general public alike for the most part. But then I'd say the same is true of Daniel Craig, though I know one or two people who might disagree with me.

Brolin likes to punch his wife Diane Lane and was arrested for it in 2004. Domestic abuse. His step-mom HATES Bush and LOVES the Clinton's. After all, Barbara Streisand, not Broccoli, slept at the White House often during Clinton's term. Do you think this movie MIGHT be a little biased against Bush and the Republicans and showing this just before the election is not concidental? In regard to Brosnan, he could have been great with better scripts.

Stone has said that his movie will be "fair". I haven't seen his biopic of Nixon, but the reviews I read of it said that it was surprisingly even-handed, so he is probably telling the truth. But I still wonder who the market for this movie is. Bush is now officially the least popular president in history, meaning that most people are unlikely to be interested in a movie about him, whereas his few remaining supporters will see Stone's name on the credits and assume, as you did, that the movie will be a hatchet job.

So you're one of those people who can't seperate the artist from the art? Fair enough. I suppose you feel disgusted by Mel Gibson, so do I, but when I watch a movie like Leathal Weapon I don't think about him but rather the character in the film. But that's just me.

A slight change of topic here guys...........

i've been checking up on the business side of QOS.........and it has been announced by 'screen International'
a UK film sourece that the budget for QOS is now reported as $230 MILLION.

That is some budget..........and as far as i know only 'Spiderman 3' surpasses that.

Its quite an increase on CR, and makes one wonder if the studio is really confident in the potential boxoffice returns,
considering that with that sort of budget the film will need to do stellar business.

Personally i think QOS will do very well, but it will take a substancial international BO to make a decent profit on the film
.............or do members here think EON are taking a big gamble??

I always take budget estimates with a truckload of salt. Studios like to exaggerate their budgets because it sounds impressive. I don't believe CR cost $150 million either. It was pretty low-key, with few special effects and an unknown (at the time) lead actor whose salary was about a quarter of Brosnan's.

Good point 'Kris'...............i never found any consistent budget info for CR.

Your right CR was comparatively low key with only the 'crane jumping' and 'airport action' being possibly the only really
expensive sequences.
